  1. At the end of the day who gives a flying f**k who designed it, where it was built, who's marketing it etc... The ECU is a top notch product. Do you think id risk my $30000 race engine using something that wasn't high quality? The information posted on here was correct as far as it has been given to me...yes i have also asked the tough questions of Ray and recieved responses to them. Like i said in an earlier post if you want the real story, ask Ray...dont theorise what you think may be happening or may have occured.
  2. i suggest you go back and read post #398 Are you aware that the Vi-pec was actually released prior to the new generation Link ECU? If the Vi-pec product was, as you put it a "re-badge" without any involvement or development input, do you think that Link would be foolish enough to allow this to occur? I think not. What product are you looking at for your car? If its a Skyline PnP, Link don't sell them as they are a TF Electronics product and only available through Vi-PEC. Again not some re-badge. any additional questions can be forwarded to Ray through the following link (no pun intended) http://www.vi-pec.com/page_files/contact.htm
  3. do HKS mention Bosch when they advertise/sell their uprated fuel pumps? Do Nismo mention Clevite when they advertise/sell engine bearings? Do SARD mention Denso when they advertise injectors? shall i go on? this is the world we live in and the way a global economy works. Companies outsource manufacturing all the time...its no conspiracy. Go to Haltech or MoTeC...no big deal...as i stated on the 3rd page of this thread "this product is not for everyone"
  4. A high 11 is the goal for you my friend and very achieveable. Stacey used to race with around 320KW at all four...she could 60' the car in the high 1.6's (best 1.690) this was done without a burnout and holding the car at 7500rpm prior to launch. Id set the tyres for her at 22psi as i didn't want it to wander too much on her in the deep end. She would side-step the clutch off the line though to get it out of the hole, so dont be scared to be a little brutal. A few pops of the fuel cut rev limit will even generate a little boost so it doesn't bog. A small amount of rear wheel spin will bring the fronts into play earlier also. Now...get it to the track!
  5. great price...i sold one of these for $900 when the dollar was good...its worth $1600 now so this is 1/2 price.
  6. its ok he's coming to work for me.
  7. Its an Aussie delivered one too
  8. ill take anyones money as long as it clears for me to draw on...
  9. Its good to see some guys finally giving the mighty CA a wrap...id love to build a tough one of these. I think with the right headwork i could get it to match that SR down low. Someone surely wants one built....2rismo...go and buy one.
  10. ok here's one
  11. ive got a small Earls oil cooler that will do the trick
  12. Ive been in a -5 car around Calder...it was nuts!
  13. Bakes...if you want real expert advice on low mount turbo's i know someone who has done back to back testing on 8 different low mount turbocharger applications using the same test mule and the same dyno with almost identical atmospheric conditions. Comparing different results from different cars, different dyno's and even different countries is going to give lots of conflicting info. PM me if you want to find out more.
  14. not really...but are stockers are adequate. ive tried...stock...revalved stock (drag set-up 90/10's in the front and 60/40's in the rear) and HKS circuit coilovers...what worked the best? The HKS items. Mark Jacobsen ran KYB circuit coilovers all the way up to low 8's and 60'd in the low 1.3's with them on radials...try doing that on stockers.
  15. corner speeds, braking G's, lap times ??? what the hell are you talking about?
  16. Vi-PEC has anti-lag. problem solved and solution is at hand.
  17. deal...you buy mine and ill then buy yours
  18. Did you not know that he sells RB oil pumps ? 2 seconds or 3 'pops' whichever comes 1st for me...best of 1.41 on radials tells me my method works.
  19. cheers Nimmo, all the best!
  20. i know exactly what it will make... a mess of his rear tyres!
  21. Stuie, the Vi-PEC has 4MB on board for logging...plenty for what i do...im looking at a display only dash for around $900 i dont see the point in paying an extra $1000 for it to do a job my ecu is already doing.
  22. Car has travelled about 50klms since it was on the cover of HPI (the last pic i put up) so it looks no different...under the hood is a little different. The changes since the article are... New HKS T51R SPL BB turbo kit (modified to new HKS T62 spec compressor rated at 1150hp) all ceramic coated with high temp black on turbine and manifold. Cerami-chrome on compressor cover. New HKS GT-II 60mm external wastegate. New Earls braided oil and water lines. New CES 5 inch stainless dump pipe and wastegate pipe both coated in high temp black. New PPG fully optioned billet straight cut dogbox. New NPC race twin plate clutch with billet flywheel. New Nismo 2 way rear diff. New modified transfer case done by Award Diff and Gearbox. New fully optioned Vi-PEC V88 ecu with 7 bar map sensor and plug-in adaptor. Thats over $25000 dollars worth!!! This is not some tired old clapped out racecar, its been maintained to a world class standard and has a fresh engine and driveline. It will have the potential to be an 8 second car when ran at the strip with over 900hp at the tyres when ran-in and tuned. Due to the last deal on the car being a dead end its still available. This car IS a bargain and i cannot believe ive still got it. Does anyone have anywhere near asking price that is keen to put in a serious offer?
