  1. just measured the Mahle piston against a CP...all that is required for sufficient oil jet to skirt clearance is the fitting of a 2mm aluminium washer under the oil jet when installing...easy! This is the same method Tomei use to properly clearance pistons in their 2.8 stroker kits.
  2. Ill be looking at them and ill report back... at the moment ive got more heads at my place than the local drug dealer.
  3. spotted a silver 32 GTR again today with TWO.06L plates in the corner of my workshop up on stands...once turbo to intercooler piping is finished ill do a 'foreshore flyby' in it.
  4. sounds like a good list for your engine...the spool rods are the best of the chinese rods ive used...good decision.
  5. Here's what i used on Stacey's engine...Tomei 1.2mm head gasket, ARP rod bolts, Nissan main and head bolts, Tomei oil restrictor, Nissan N1 oil pump, Nissan N1 water pump, Tomei sump baffle kit, Arias 86mm forged pistons and Tomei 260 deg 9.15mm lift camshafts. When racing we used to put an extra litre of oil in it for insurance. The cams, baffle kit and N1 water pump are not entirely essential but are recommended.
  6. The point i was trying to make is you seem to be a little light in the folding stuff...right? You dont need to spend mega bucks to build an engine that will perform and be durable. Stacey's engine cost just under 4K to build and if we ran stock cams would have been 3K....ive seen engines built for over 5 times that amount ($20,000+) and have been a total waste of money.
  7. The nissan stuff is quite good...albeit the cast pistons. The engine i built for Stacey when she was racing the car was all Nissan except pistons and camshafts...made almost 470AWKW and was thrashed for 3 seasons of racing and countless dyno comps. Its how they are bolted together thats more important than a wanky list of expensive parts.
  8. Ill take you for a run in my 2.6 ... you will never want a forklift engine (RB30) again...lol. there is a lot more mucking around getting a 30 fitted let alone getting it built "properly"
  9. spotted a grey r32 4 door with a black drivers guard on it in broadmeadow this afternoon...couldn't get the plate
  10. and takes twice as long to tune...which = even more money
  11. urethane it on Micheal
  12. JPC here's a full list of dealers worldwide http://www.vi-pec.com/page_files/dealer_list.htm#queensland
  13. I have my car looked after by Mark...and i live over 1000klm from his workshop! Top fella and top quality workmanship.
  14. I have a matched crown-wheel and pinion spare if you need one...it came with my cusco 1.0 way front diff and i never used it.
  15. Godzilla Motorsport is the dealer for Vi-PEC in Brisbane...contact Mark and he will look after you with both supply of computer, tuning and advice. www.godzillamotorsport.com
  16. here's the HKS one which in my opinion looks neater than the Trust item
  17. who you callin' cheaters...we only have one extra diff...you have TWO extra cylinders!
  18. The intent of our build was to make the maximum torque we could as early as we could without comprimising top-end power and the ability to rev. If i had the budget i would have made it with a 2.7 JUN full counter crank, but you have to stop somewhere i suppose. power...a bit over 900awhp should get me the time and MPH im after...Im gunning for Theo's ANDRA class national record. PPG straight cut dogbox, Vi-PEC V88 ecu, modified transfer case and rear diff set-up and a lighter car should get me there. Mark will be tuning the car shortly.
  19. mate the double standards that i see here almost everyday. Im not the dobber run to teacher type...hence why i just shook my head in disbelief.
  20. You get to a point where the small internal wastegates are unable to bypass enough air to maintain boost control....that point for us was a smidge over 500 AWKW. We tried two heads and 3 different cam profiles to get it right...costs a lot of $$ and time but a lot is learned through this process....And ive just done it again now that ive gone to a 1200ps turbo (T51R SPL modified with a new T62 compressor wheel 108mm). We are now living on Salvo's food vouchers...lol
  21. I was disgusted to see this thread...even more to see senior members of this forum allow it to proceed.
