  1. raise the ride height...soften the suspension (soft bump and hard rebound in the rear...opposite in the front) about 22psi in the front and 20psi in the rears. Off the limiter launches are the best for a 1st timer as the handbrake method is a little tricky (ive never done it that way) Look at your last dyno graph and change as power starts to fall off (using a shift light will actually help too although ive never used one of them either)

  3. i ran an OS 5 speed and raped it hard for a few years...the secret is to keep the maintenance up to them...they are not a set and forget item...strip it down every 12 months, have it inspected and it will last. Lazy synchro hubs will destroy any gearset OS/PPG etc. if shifted hard.
  4. my new runners from Hypertune have injector bosses on both top and bottom. two sets of 1000cc injectors should cover it.

  6. would love to put my 1000hp GTR engine into a Charger...C4 auto and massive rear slicks. would run 8's at the strip. Ive owned 6 Chargers in my younger days they are around 1100kg with the Hemi 6 in them...it would haul ass!!
  7. yeah Brad i agree...but have seen a lot of people loose a lot of money, time and eventually sight of what they tried to achieve when taking on a build. No offence to the thread starter but the nature of some of the things asked and what has been stated appears a little green. Time, money and a lot of heartache can be saved by swallowing pride and allowing someone well versed in building these cars to take the reigns and produce a car that will be enjoyed long before a slow and painful build-up would take to achieve. One 20K engine blow-up may take all the fun out of it in an instant. this post is not meant to offend or upset anyone it just gives another angle...i for one are proof the self builds work but for some people they may be better off to outsource it.

I know what id be more worried about...a multinational with an army of lawers than some dodgy rip-off with his ass hanging out of his trousers. not having a dig...its just something about this site that has always been questionable. ibtl
  11. I found that teflon coating the skirts and running my own clearances with them they were one of the quietest pistons ive used...works a treat!. Tomei are ultra quiet though due to their construction and the tight clearance you can run with them (1.9-2.2thou)

I had a mate who got his HKS 6 speed reco'd by a certain Sydney gearbox manufacturer (it may or may not be PAR but due to forum rules i cannot say its them) it took 6 months and after constant phone calls was lucky to ever get it back. Two of the gears were unselectable and had to be fixed by another company. Id be very wary.
  15. if you know or can contact the seller please help a follow forum member out and obtain a tracking number for him. i know id do it. it may then shed a decent light on the whole thing, which at the moment looks extremely sus.

  20. i use a large syringe filled with oil and squirt it into the turbo core through the oil feed prior to start-up.
  21. some food for thought... i visited a well known workshop last week that has some highly modified cars and i was hard pressed to identify that they had been modded at all. The local police have even been in contact with them and have let him know they are happy to work with him as he is seen to be doing the right thing in regards to modification. The days of big shiny front mounts, polished pipe work, pods, atmo BOV's etc are numbered. I took a drive in a 450AWKW GTR and it appeared stock, idled like a stocker and was more quiet than some of the stockers ive seen and would have passed an EPA emissions test with flying colours. Modifiers have to see the writing on the wall and change the way we do things or it will only get more painful for owners as its going to get worse not better. that way who cares of the police attend criuses as even the most stringent tests will have them left with nothing but apoligies. hope this wasn't too off topic EDIT: some LAC's (local area commands) have a mandtory pull over and inspect rule for Skyline imports...why?...because they have over 80% success rate with issueing defects/fines when they do...its an easy way to get the quota up.

  23. yeah we saw it together...don't worry he was a little bit shy when the lights went down but he got into it after an hour or so. you can take Stace to see it when it comes out next week...lol
