  1. I got my HICAS lock-out bar from JMS in SA but you can prol get one from Unique in Catsle Hill.
  2. R32 GTS-T Rims are 16" x 6.5" from memory and R32 GT-R Rims are 16" x 8". Best size tyre I've seen on a R32 GTS rim is 215/45/16 and most common size on R32 GT-R rim is 225/50/16. Hope that helps.
  3. Hi, Have searched the forums and have not found what I need so my question is.... Does anyone have any info regarding rear brake pads for an R32 GTS-T ( HCR32 ). Probably looking at Bendix Ultimates, or maybe Winmax or EBC depending on price. Need info on prices and where to get them in NSW please. :uh-huh:
  4. My 2 cents. Don't like the new version at all. They have foresaken the traditionally agressive / robust Japanese muscle car look for a Euro run-of-the-mill style. In the past NISSAN has delivered machines that looked agressive and intimidating FROM THE FACTORY. Now, it's just like every other car that you can spend a packet on to make it look the goods. They may drive and brake etc like a weapon but it'd be like sleeping with a nympho version of Pauline Hanson........ It's just not right !!
  5. The Cusco upper arms are a fixed length arm set to increase your negative camber. Yes, that means they are NOT adjustable. They are sold in 1 or 1.5 mm shorter increments to bring in the neg camber. I've had a set of these on my car for about 4 years without any problems. Because they are bearing style instead of bush style they are a lot stronger than factory. Hope that helps.
  6. I don't know if this would help but I know it did for me !! When I was in high school in California, they used to have "Driver's Education" and as part of the teaching they would talk about all the normal driving / legal stuff but would also show video's of crash testing different cars at different speeds etc. etc. They also showed video's containing actual California Hyway Patrol footage from the scene of accidents. One of the video's was called "Red Asphalt" and to this day I can vividly remember the damaged and sometimes mangled bodies of people that had accident's at speeds equal to 70 - 110 kph. These had a huge impact on me because it drives home the fact that cars can become coffins real fast and at surprisingly low speeds if you're unlucky. I can't even begin to remember how many guys and girls bolted out the door and chucked their guts up during these vid's
  7. Merli, if you had of read just one sentence further you would have read the following.... "Not that this is the ideal solution but a balance between that and what we have would go a LONG WAY to changing the mindset of those who wanna chance it !!!!" What I mean by this is that when I was growing up in the 80's both in the AUS and the USA, cops used to give you incentive to not break the law. And that was before you got to the station or court house. Not for stupid little things but for the more serious infringements. Now days with all the "Do-gooders" and their handy cams one person can get sued for sneezing on anotherwhile a murderer get's off with a warning and then sues the family of the person he killed AND WINS. And that's the way our wonderfull, modern legal system works.
  8. For the better part I'd have to agree with gR33ddy in as much as the laws in Aus are a joke !! The laws are about getting the little fish, not the big ones because they're better revenue generators and easy pickings. I think most people would think twice about doing things if they knew they would do time behind bars ( at least a year for a strong offence ). The fact is, virtually all the laws in Aus suck !! Have you seen how many people break the law in Russia ??? Stuff up over there and the cops will FIRSTLY beat the unholy crap out of you and THEN you'll get charged !!! Not that this is the ideal solution but a balance between that and what we have would go a LONG WAY to changing the mindset of those who wanna chance it !!!! In my opinion, street racers are those who need an excuse ready, in case they lose. I've got no traction. There was a bump in the road. What ??? You didn't see that dog crossing the road ??? TAKE IT TO WSID WHERE THE ONLY EXCUSE FOR LOSING IS YOU !!
  9. Autochik89, My advice would be to stay in school until you cover a large amount of options for employment. Talk to as many people as you can about what they do, and do they like it and WHY. If you want to be a mechanic then go for it but remember, do any one thing for long enough and it'll drive you crazy. So, with that in mind, choose a career that has variety and if that's a mechanic job, you should be prepared to do whatever it takes to get beyond main stream work. For the records I left school to become a mechanic and landed a job working on Ferrari's, Lambo's 's, Maserati's, Porsche's etc, etc. and loved it but even after time, these cars become boring because no matter what the car, it's still a bunch of nuts and bolts that YOU have to fix for someone else. There's a BIG difference between owning a great car and working on it.....and having to work on everybody elses great cars day after day. I have left the trade and hope I never have to go back. I still work on cars and enjoy it but NOT as a full time job. Hope that helps in some way & sorry it's so long.
  10. The best tyre I've used on the street is the Falken Azenis ( Pure Sport not Silent Sport ). I say that with respect to the cost ( quite good if you shop around compared to the other DOT aproved rubber out there ) they don't wear out too fast if you treat em right and great all around grip in IMHO. You can get a lot worse and you can get better but bang for your buck..........AZENIS are my choice. My 2 cents.
  11. Just as an F.Y.I. I'm using a O.S.Giken Twin Plate ( which comes with a lightened flywheel ) and it's pretty good for all around use. Can't remember what they cost now but I think they're around the $1,800 mark. You really need to know what you want to do with the car and how much power you plan to push through the clutch. Once you've got that, you can find what you need / can afford. On the topic of clutches, I also had the pleasure of driving an R32 GT-R with an ATS Carbon Clutch and I have to say it was amazing !! Pedal feel / pressure was just off stock and slip's a little under full power when cold but when warm, grips perfectly and you can drive it ( slip it ) just like a factoy clutch. Plaganis, if money's not an option, would highly recommend an ATS !!
  12. Cheers If I could afford to, I'd use em' all the time !
  13. Bought this stuff about 7 months ago and have lost the receipt so I can't return it. Decided not to use it so here it is for sale BRAND NEW !! All are COOL IT Thermo Tec Brand. - Insulation Wrap 1" wide. 50 foot length. ( Great for a dump pipes or tuned length exhaust mainifolds ) - Wrap Straps 5/16" wide, 20 Foot Length and 20 locking clips. - Sealing spray ( coating ) Payed $119.85 for it all. Selling for $80.00 ( plus postage costs if required ) PM If interested.
  14. As per the title, I have the following for sale to any buyer who'd like to come pick them up ( I live in Southern Sydney ) cause I can't be bothered packing and sending em' anywhere. The wheels are stock R32 GTS-T 16" x 6.5" ( 5x114.3 ) One wheel has a gutter rash of about 3" but all others are OK. The tyres are Falken AZENIS 215/45/16 ( The good AZENIS, NOT the ST115's ). Great as a track tyre for the weekend warrior or the agressive street driver. They still have an easy 80% of the original tread left. :aroused: $400 PM If interested.
  15. I use Penzoil Synthetic 5W-50. Works for me...... F.Y.I. The NISSAN Factory recommended oil is 7.5W-30 ( but that was for the GT-R at in 1992 ). In my old HR31 I tried a straight 30W Oil and I wouldn't suggest it. My 2 cents
  16. Great news bass. I haven't done anything but maintenance on my car for months !! Been getting withdrawl symptoms
  17. That will get the shock and spring assembly out but to get the springs off the shocks ( eg keep the springs but replace the shocks ) you will need a spring compressor and need to be a bit carefull. Also, if you are changing the springs to different shocks you should roughly estimate the location of the strut tops to they lower mounts so the slot straight back in. Have fun
  18. Hi all, I'll soon be replacing my EBC Greenstuff pads and the guy I deal with asked if there was anyone else who was looking for any EBC brake parts so he could build up a bigger order so I'm just putting it out there to see if anyone's interested ? This is not a group buy as all orders will have to be placed individually and shipped respectively but if he knows that there are a few of us, he will do a bit better deal. He'll be giving me an idea of prices soon which I'll post. Also, I'm not saying that these are the best brakes in the world ( although I LIKE em for street use and the odd track blat ) so hold the debate please. The guy's name is Doug Stuart and his company is Apexactive in QLD and you can check out his site if interested: www.apexactive.com
  19. Also worth a thought all is that if you're a passenger in a car and one of your mates is "Giving it" don't be afraid to express your desire to LIVE and get the driver to save it for the track or at least when YOU are not in the car. I've had to do it about 3 times and once about 22 years ago it DID save my life but unfortunately my mate didn't take the hint My condolences also, especially the friends and family who now have to deal with this loss.
  20. Adjust the nut lower to lower the spring height.
  21. I can't vouch for most of the other tyres but I can tell you a fair bit anything with regards to Falken's ( which are made by Ohtsu ( who are now in bed with Dunlop ) , not Sumitomo ). I've had ( and many friends have had ) ZE326, ZE512, ST115, FK451 and AZENIS. Everyone says ZE326 are crap. Well what do you want for that kind of money ?? They're an entry lever tyre with a large range of sizes at a low price. Mostly for those who can't afford the 20 inch wheels they purchased let alone the rubber to go on them I'm currently using ZE512's and they are a pretty good general use street tyre with silicone impregnated compound so they hang on reasonalby well in all consditions and are quiet. Also, they're directional which the ZE326 are not. From this point onwards they get more type specific like FK451's for Euro conditions etc up to the AZENIS Pure Sport which is an awesome tyre on the street under most conditions and not too bad on the track days ( for the price ). Not that I'm saying Falken are the best, because I'm not, but what is considered shit to one person is considered a good comprimise to the next person. You guys should consider siting actual event's that contribute to you either liking or hating a tyre ( like poor wear rate but good traction etc etc ) instead of just saying they're crap. That doesn't really help anyone.
