  1. i have just sent all three of you my suggestions. let me know what you think cheers Darren
  2. dont worry about fuel im in the same boat. im lucky to get 20L per hundred if we start with a full tank that will get us right down around the peninsular and over to victa. a quick top up and that will get you back thru willunga then meadows etc then down the freeway. im self employed so you name a time and place and i will be there to help organise a great event. the route i have in mind is approx 250 kays from the city and return, but 80% is open sweeping roads that you wont need much boost so fuel consumption wont be an issue. you can contact me on 0407187834 or via PM thanks for letting me help. Darren
  3. sorry fella i wasnt knocking it. just trying to lighten the mood.
  4. i dont want to step on anyones toes.. But more then glad to help organise a good route. cheers
  5. yes you will need a restrictor the standard turbo runs standard lines which have a restrictor built into them. once you remove the turbo and the standard oil supply line you have no restrictor and will therefore get full oil pressure thru the turbo. bad so get a restrictor from gcg etc and it will keep your turbo happy. ps new garret turbos are NOT covered by waranty unless you have a restrictor.
  6. end to end might work but why? 044 intank FTW..
  7. if you were to build that bottom end, and you already owned the block, you would get change out of $2000 if you pay any more then this you need to find a new workshop. its a stock rebuild with forged pistons and thats it. if your VLT motor has bits worth more then $1500 that are still usable, then dont do it theres no mention of the crank being balanced to suit the new forged oversize pistons, so if that hasnt been done it will struggle to rev past 5k and will rattle itself to bits. Why would you reco a oil pump when a brand new N1 is only $400 sounds dodgy.. Darren
  8. if you want any suggestion as to routes im happy to help as i know the whole south area very well. And yes 50 lines stretching there legs in 28 degree weather sounds good to me.. some great photo spots along the way aswell. see how many lines we can fit on the myponga reservoir KI as back drop would make a great pic with 20 or 30 lines in the top lookout carpark at cape jervis. gentle cruise around past deep creek counter meal at the crown at victa top of willunga hill lookout then a boost back thru meadows, echunga etc.
  9. if you change your oil feed line then you need a new restrictor. all garret BB turbos need less then 50psi (i think thats right) so when your engines cold or the oil pressure is high you need to slow down the flow with a small restrictor that slides inside your oil supply line where it bolts onto the block. Its a 2 minute install.
  10. Slide Performance bush bearing highflowed R33 turbocharger rated to 250rwkw @ 1 bar so dial up 2 bar and get 500 kws... thats the way it works isnt it.....
  11. yes it must be restricted. ring gcg and they will post you out a restrictor to suit your oil feed -4 etc..
  12. A: dont be to soft on it, or she will carbon up to much. 1.5 Bar should clean out the cobwebs and get the stag really humming.. or b: 16 psi will be fine, just make sure on boost your AFR is around 11.5 and no higher. and keep pinging below 15 and it will last forever... if your really concerned about it lasting for years in the heat, then get it tuned on 95 ron fuel, once tuned only run 98 ron fuel and you will never have an issue when it gets hot. how much power are you looking for? Darren
  13. why dont you cruise down south. theres some awesome 100 kph winding corners down towards rapid bay thru to victor, and its allways 8 - 10 degrees cooler down there then up near adelaide. The normal adelaide crusie's are to slow and tight and with lots of hairpin coners to cook everyones brakes. just my thoughts.. Darren
  14. classic...... well said....
  15. maybe you should have a look at gcg's website. or rocket industries. or HPIB. all say 700 hp
  16. agreed gt3582r FTW! but go the .82 on your motor the .63 will more then likely surge like a bitch. but the .82 will see full boost well before 4k and is rated at 700 hp while the to4z is 750hp
  17. my daughter slept thru the night from 3 weeks old. she would get a feed around midnight then sleep theu til 6 am by the time she was 6 months old she would sleep for 8 hours straight. she is now 2 3/4 and goes to bed at 8 pm and wakes up between 7 and 8 am.. Im kinda hoping Tanner will follow his big sis.... time will tell.. since being born he has been sleeping well, getting a feed about every 3 - 4 hours so nights arnt to bad.
  18. i dont really care what things look like! No bling for me.... i can only justify performance mods that work. ie lightweight racing booster seats, and maybe a kevlar stroller for the boot..
  19. im not sure whats next. without a drag strip to run on i dont know what else to do to the car.
  20. we called him Tanner and i now have a $4000 baby bonus coming.. but im running out of mods...
  21. Na its my second i also have a 2 year old girl Not many 300 kw cars daily driven with two child seats in the back. kids love 1.8 bar allways gets a giggle.....
  22. A special thanks must go to my wife for producing a baby boy. the rest of my family tree has all had girls so my surname looked doomed, i am the youngest and last remaining hope, and have come thru with the goods. He was born on friday weighing 8 pound 3 and 6 hours later was boosting in style heading for home. thanks must also go out to the birthing centre at Fliders for doing a excellent job and helping us thru. Cheers Darren :sorcerer:
  23. I took a freinds advice and thought i would try Martin. my car looks identical to Martins r33 sedan. He charged me $400 and said it was all good. turns out i had lost 48 kws over my previous tune at hitek. He blamed the fuel i was running, so he removed 5 degrees of ignition. final result my car was 2 rwkws less then Martins car... using the same BP98 i went back to hitek and payed $200 to get the power back Go to shaun or John.. John has a newer dyno + the way its strapped on. Shaun is a better tuner... and cheaper... you decide Ps. My freind that raved about martin also had his race car tuned the same day. made 400 kws at the wheels wow... grenaded 200 klm's later..... its your call.. Darren
  24. hey Jono have another look.. you say your a tuner yet you cant read a dyno printout ?? the 10.7 AFR is his first run in green = 207 kws next run in red with AFR up to 12.1 = 270kws he obviuosly started at 207kws then cranked some more boost into her and then did the red run gettin up 270 od kws.
  25. now thats where you went wrong to begin with.. your initial post should have mentioned the girl / girl action and you would have had the whole SAU SA croud there drinking and cheering. now that would have been a great night..
