  1. 33 cars.. who else is keen to bring there line out?
  2. If you repsct his opinion then why dont you listen to him? you will find that when running 550 injectors and a FPR you will need say 42psi base fuel pressure. then crank 20psi of boost into it to get you to 300 kws and the fuel pressure is now at 62 psi. this is when the walbro dies in the ass. if you like your engine lasting once you get up to 270 kws and beyond then sell the walbro and get a 044 and mount it in tank in the same spot as th walbro. still runs on standard fuel lines. its a no brainer....
  3. however.... to run a 10 or low 11 second pass you will need above 300 kws at the wheels for a manual this will include some moster clutch that grips like a muther and will be very hard to launch a rear wheel drive without bogging down, or smoking the rears. on my wifes car i went the auto road because its very easy for my wife to drive to target or coles in yet i can get in in it and do a low 11. Manuals with big clutches are a pig if its your family or daily driver. im running the full built race trans from MV Automatics with all new internals bigger bands etc 3000 rpm high stall, stage 2 shift kit with a large trans cooler and its a pleasure to drive.
  4. no its approx 250 kays total. it may be closer to 300 kays for you guys out the other side of the city, but that will depend on your final route home. for less then a tank of fuel it will certainly be one to remember. as far as time frame goes i would assume we should be finished by around 5 o'clock any other questions let me know cheers Darren
  5. good to see cubes... just trying to work out the numbers of who's coming. so i have added a list to my first post. everyone have a look and let me know if you or freinds want to be added etc at a guess we are heading towards 30 rb's.. that will be a sight to remember..

  11. Sorry for the hold up and the late announcement of this special cruise, but i can finally announce the first annual BSM YSA cruise will be held on Sunday the 25th of March starting at Holly Reserve (corner of Doctors rd and States rd Morphett Vale) at 1:00 oclock. There is plenty of parking around the oval so all SAU members are welcome. Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel upon arrival as this cruise will be one to remember, and cover approx 250 klms of our world famous Fleurieu Peninsula. Any budding photograhers amoungst us please get in touch with me and i will give you a heads up on several spots we will be stopping at along the way to get some group photos. SAU stickers will also be available on the day, with $2 from every sticker sold getting donated towards this great cause. 12. yes its all good with the map. a few final touches and then its just a matter of printing out some copys. who wants to anounce this in the forum and get some names coming.... let me know how many you want and i will go into work and get it printed. everyone please make sure you have a full tank of fuel to start the cruise. were heading south.....
  13. yes its a big jump but no its not scary... but you need to know how to control a car thats sideways. as soon as i got my license i got into rallying. (state level) i only used a cheap dato 1600 but the years i spent on dirt sideways have done me well. im now above 300kws and its still not scary. you just have to use your head more then your right foot. i mean where can you use 250kws???? you cant on the road. within .5 second your at the speed limit so why do you need any more? in saying that because its fun and the feeling of opening her up takes my breath away every time. so enjoy 230 while your there and use it as a learning curve towards 250 , 270 , then 300 and beyond. cheers Darren
  14. 300kw skyline FTW every time.... hey Nathan
  15. GCG supplied me with a restrictor that pushed into my -4 line where it screws into the block. but the hole in it was only about 1mm. i would check with them if i was you. tell them the no. on your turbo and they will tell you if you need one or not. the restrictor looks similar to a head oil feed restrictor. to me 3mm sounds like you dont have a retrictor at all.
  16. being a DOHC how could you possibly dial the cams in with the head off the engine? and the turbo etc, has nothing to do with the relationship between the crank to cam timing. if the cams are timed perfectly to the crank as they are designed to do, then they are at there optimum setting for both fuel ecconomy and power.
  17. a question for everyone.. you all say strongly without a doubt set your new poncams to zero... But on a rebuilt motor that has had its head and block decked how can the cam timing possibly be correct at zero? let alone having an aftermarket headgasket thats a different thickness. look at it this way every tooth on your cam gears represent 15 degrees at the crank. if you have decked both the block and the head and are still running a stock thickness head gasket, both your cams will already be retarded by about 2 degrees. you then try retarding them another 2 or 4 degrees more as you would with a gtr etc and you loose power. you then set them back to zero and live with whatever you can get from them. Why? i have never heard of anyone on these forums openly talking about dialing in your cams properlly with a dial indicator and setting them up to within a couple of thou of perfect. again why?? now for a couple of hours work that we can do ourselves at home why dosent anyone do it? on the tomei website they have the detail specs of what the cam should be doing at tdc etc so its not hard to set them up perfectly. why waste time on a dyno guessing where they should be when you can dial them in to were they were made to be..
  18. are you in adelaide? $175 and its yours i payed $250 For it but then changed plans. everyone else make offers..
