you just made that very confusing... how can the pump sit 4 / 5 cm below the bottom of the bracket? my advice get yourself a 044 from the trader section, get your standard pump bracket and cut off the steel pipe that runs from the stock pump, as it will hit the 044, print out the picture i posted, head down to your local super cheap / sprint autos / etc and grab a replacment fuel sock from a v8 falcon. show them the pic if theres any confusion. head over to pirtek or similar and they will join the bits together with fuel hose. theres no modification to the pump, and it still retains the mesh screen at the bottom of the pump. as seen in the pic i removed the stock 044 banjo non return valve and fitted one from pirtek. grab some decent hose clamps and a off cut of 1 1/2 fuel hose, put a slit along the hose and wrap it around the new pump and clamp it on. chop the plug off the power wires and crimp on 2 new terminals, and your done.

you need to find a new mechanic. im a builder and it only took me 10 minutes to install my 044 in tank with a falcon v8 fuel sock and its wisper quiet. if a mechanic cant install a 040 in the tank then he has issues. back to trade school for him. All the hose is fuel rated from pirtek, with no surging or running out at 1/4 full. its not a hard mod, yet everyone goes running to the nismo etc. just make sure you rubber mount the pump and you can hardly hear it running 044 FTW

Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold
dangerman4 replied to dangerman4's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
having a 3k high stall convertor takes care of any low down loss, and the added flow ability with the new exhaust manifold should also help the power curve. i was thinking the greddy plenum looks nice and neat without being overkill. -
Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold

budget isnt an issue, so i was thinking of doing both manifolds at once. does everyone agree the greddy is the best inlet plenum for the r33 gtst? pics of my current setup.. -
Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold
dangerman4 replied to dangerman4's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cheers guys ive ordered a high mount Extreme Turbo Manifold to suit the internal gate gt3582r-iw, and im contemplating ordering a greddy plenum to go with it, due to cross over pipe issues. any thoughts? -
Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold
dangerman4 replied to dangerman4's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
do they make the hks cast manifold to suit internal gate? or would it be an option to just block off the external port? -
Sounds like its SAU Vigilante time. if it turns out to be the scumbag then things could get intesting.

Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold
dangerman4 replied to dangerman4's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its on a built 25 with forged rods, pistons, cams etc running around 300 - 320kws at 22 psi. running r33 auto with full built box and 3k high stall from MV Auto. just looking at the low mount pics and they start getting a bit messy. open the bonnet and theres pipes going everywhere. so from a police point of view would high mounting the gt3582-iw be any better? certainly looks a lot cleaner / stock. hahahaha sort of.... -
Rb25 Low Mounted Gt3540iw On A 6boost Manifold
dangerman4 replied to dangerman4's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i know they both make them and that there products are very well made, however i also know that there manifolds dont mount the turbo in the standard position its rotated 90 degrees i think, so im wondering on if the gt35 will still fit with the internal gate etc side ways instead of the standard up and down configuration? i dont want to fork out $1100 on manifold then find out it wont fit. -
Hi After several years of good service my chinese, stainless low mount has cracked in half. so im wondering if anyone has seen a low mounted gt3540 IW on a 6Boost or Extreme turbo manifold. i need to order one sooner then later as my wife is without a car at the moment, so any ideas would be appreciated. thanks Darren

S1 r33 auto works perfectly with pfc. I have the proof.

yea i thought it was you. The other darren has a rigid rear end so that doesnt help me much. -
Minimising Wheelspin

im still keen to change my diff gears to 3.9 etc. topping out at 165 in 3rd isnt fast enough down the drags and im not real keen on using overdrive or raising my rev limiter to 9k just to get to 185kph. -
between 230 and 250rwkw depending on ignition advance

Picking The Right Stall Converter
dangerman4 replied to sxc33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If your keen to install the shift kit then the High Stall is simple. put your car on a hoist or up on stands, then unbolt the trans and drag it out. un bolt the standard convertor off the engine, and bolt the new one on. roll your trans on its back undo the pan and install the shift kit then bolt it back together. with a dozen beers it shouldnt take more then 5 / 6 hours job done. failing that just get a local trans place to do it for you. prob around the $300 mark -
Picking The Right Stall Converter
dangerman4 replied to sxc33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As i mentioned above, the high stall will still lock up and drive from around 1200 rpm and above like a standard convertor, its only when you load it up on the brakes or on a big hill that it will go up to stall speed of 3k etc. normal driving you wont even know its there. I highly recomend a 2800 from MV Auto's, and im running over 300 rwkws everyday in my wifes daily shopping bus -
quit winging, yes the government is screwing us hard and dry, but my 04 triton dual cab 4x4 is high $800 a year. yet full comp on it is $750 for a $32,000 car. why is rego more then insurance? wheres all our rego money going? its sure not being spent on the roads. if regos to much for you then get a push bike.
-
im guessing between the 260 to 280rwkw range at around 24psi. the gtrs will give great response but its too small for your engine internals. 3037 would have been a better choice for 300kws without needing nos.

Picking The Right Stall Converter
dangerman4 replied to sxc33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey chap r33 stall convertors are awesome little things. they still lock up when not under heavy load while the old school chev / ford etc convertors wont. im running the 2800 / 3000 rpm convertor in my 33 yet the car will happily go up hills at 1600 rpm in drive. my old chev 3k high stall needed to be doing 2750rpm to move, let alone going up hills. so in answer to your question contact mike at MV automatics over here in Adelaide and he will organise one for you. the highest they can go with the stock convertor housing is the 2800 / 3000 rpm that i run, and this will be perfect for you. if you want to go higher for some reason then you will have to get a smaller convertor 4 cylnder nissan i think, and then that can be modded up higher around the 4000rpm mark but the cost is 2.5 times more then the 2800 convertor. i hope that makes sence. -
As Nismoid said. two things. he was either messing with you. or he is a knob. either way i would be weary of trusting someone that gives you such info. the front pipe or complete exhaust for that matter has nothing to do with it chirping 2nd. you could run a 5 inch exhaust of a t88 and it wont chirp second, however the trans will slip to buggery on changes. get a full 3inch "min" exhaust and go from there. if you want to chirp second and 3rd get a MV shift kit.
-
stock gearing is 15 / 40 and im running 14 / 38 but with the smaller back tyres it gives me a top speed of around 230kmph at 13k rpm here's a few picks
-
my misses will smoke you all..... na it will be great if they get everyone off anzacs. 200kmph in a 60 zone isnt recomended, yet all the comodore drivers still persist in trying to proove there worth. bring on the sau vs the rest drag comp. Kristy will have some slicks on ready to go.
