  1. I didn't claim anything. I don't know anything about your car. That's what the website you've got in your signature says.
  2. Awesome! Thanks dude...
  3. Why has it been detuned so much? That's ridiculous. At less boost, mine makes more power, and comes on hard at 4000rpm and redline set at 8000rpm. With a turbo like that, with such a useless powerband for anything but drag racing, you'd better turn the boost back up and make use of that 2500rpm "happy zone"... Also, going by this website: http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/r33gts-t.html It still has stock rods, so I can't see you raising the revlimiter too much more past 7500rpm, perhaps 8000rpm. I wouldn't say "rev limit set to 7500rpm though it can be reved past that with ease" at all. 7500 is already past stock redline for those conrods. With that peak power figure, you *should* be good for high 11s, but I'm predicting a mid-high 12 on street tyres.
  4. Mate, just so you know, that's a Series 1 GTS-t. It was built in 1995, not "96/99". It has a Series 1 non-airbag Steering wheel, no passenger airbag, and Series 1 Dash Trim. I would estimate the car would be worth around about $20-21,000.
  5. I just noticed that you have photos of my car up on that website. Please remove all number plates before posting them on the internet. http://www.sydney-digital.com/gallery/skyl...s/dscf0007.html
  6. 190rwkw is very different to 250rwkw+ Mainly because the size of the turbo required to achieve the larger numbers makes power delivery a lot more sudden, which isn't conducive to traction... You also get a LOT more torque, which just seems to want to fry tyres...
  7. Your advertisement in Unique Cars says that you've spent $25,000 on modifications... Could you please elaborate on what you've done to the car? It looks very nice. Cheers!
  8. When I was last at C&V Performance a few weeks ago, a Turbosmart representative was there, going through the eBoost's features with Con and Vic. They had just installed one on a car, replacing a different EBC, and the turbosmart tech guy was teaching C&V how to work all the functions. After about 45 mins, Con came out with the biggest smile on his face, singing the praises of the eBoost to no end. Even after the Turbosmart guy had left, he was still harping on about how it was the best EBC he had ever used. Apparently you can tell the wastegate exactly when to open, so if you want to run 1.4 bar boost, you can tell the wastegate to keep COMPLETELY SHUT until 1.3 bar, and then open until it hits 1.4 bar. Most EBCs will allow the wastegate to creep open at about 0.7 bar and this isn't conducive to building boost quickly. Anyway, give Con a call about it. You don't have to buy it from them, but they have now installed about a dozen of them, and they still can't stop singing it's praises, so give them a call and ask them any questions you want.
  9. Tony, I have a silver Type-M front bar spare... You can have it cheap if that's what you end up deciding to do.
  10. I just happen to have a Veilside catalog (among the other 5000 that I picked up during Tokyo Autosalon) and here are the prices. R33 GTR - CEI Model (BCNR33)/AE018 Front Bumper Front and Rear Fenders Sideskirts Rear Bumper Rear Wing ------------------------------------------------- Entire Kit - 900,000 Yen ------------------------------------------------- Optional FRP Bonnet - 110,000 Yen =========================== Total = 1,010,000 Yen (approx AUD$14,000) That doesn't include shipping, painting or fitting either. Oh, btw, that kit will fit the GTS-t, because it replaces the front and rear guards anyway, so the front and rear bumpers will fit just fine.

  12. You think that's funny? Watch the owner of one of these LIMITED EDITIONS GTRs explain the modifications done to his special toy. http://www.andrewho.com/misc/domestic.avi
  13. Wow. Not one smart-ass response re: spelling. I'm impressed
  14. Well done! What turbo are you using?
  15. I have a 100hp wet kit, quite literally, sitting next to me... but I can't use it, nor can I turn up the boost past 1.2 bar until I get my internals done
  16. Hmmm okay. Forget the shifter. The gearset in the gearbox and the synchros can only mechanically change gears so fast, right? Like you can't expect the gearbox to change gears in 0.001 seconds, it has a mechanical limit on how fast it will actually change from 1st or 2nd. If you try and get it to change gears faster than that, it will beat the synchros and CRUNCH. What you're actually doing is asking the gearbox to change gears faster than it physically possibly can. It's impossible, so the gears hit each other and make a God-awful crunch. So what you have to do is slow down the shift a tiiiiiiny bit until you find the speed where you pull your gearlever at a speed so that you're shifting just a tiny bit slower than the mechanical limit of the gearbox.
  17. hehehehehe... Yeah, unfortunately with RWDs, the more power you have, the worse power progression gets, and the harder it is to get a clean launch I could hit 2.0 60 footers all day with my other stock R33, but this one is a LOT harder to launch
  18. As for shifting, I've got a C's short shifter, and it's great. It's reduced the throw a LOT, and you can actually beat the synchros if you rip the gearstick hard enough. What that actually means, is that you can move the gearstick faster than the gearbox can mechanically change gears... So if you slow it down a touch, you can actually find the perfect speed to shift gears, so that you're shifting as fast as the gearbox can mechanically shift... Does that make sense?
  19. R31Nismoid, I made the following figures: 280rwkw @ 1.2 bar on CRD's (Croydon Autosports) dyno, and 263.8rwkw @ 1.1 bar on C&V's dyno. If you're wondering why my terminal speed is a little low for that power, it's because I ran 100% street trim. Not one iota of weight reduction. I ran with FULL stereo, subwoofer, about 40kgs of sound deadening, spare tyre and all interior trim and seats. I've ordered some 245/50/16 NT555Rs for the two R32 GTR rims I have... I could have gone for those 275/40/17s, but I thought I'd trade a little width for more sidewall... I hope I made the right decision. ice180: Last time I went to the drags, I tried loading up using the handbrake, and I promptly snapped my right driveshaft clean in half I ain't gonna try that again in a hurry, cos I felt like the biggest dickhead having to be towed off in front of everybody
  20. I slapped on my 17" D01Js that I use for circuit racing... I also have 18" D01Js on my normal street tyres, but they are rock hard, it seems if you don't drive them hard and get some heat into them often, they "go off" and turn rock hard So I decided to put the softer D01Js that I use for track use on. My turbo comes on boost HARD at 4000rpm, so it's a hard car to launch properly... I was launching at 3500rpm, and the car would bog down, slowly spool up, hit boost and break into violent wheelspin On my 2.034 60 foot pass, I dialed up 5000rpm, and jerked the clutch out quickly to the friction point... This caused the car to launch forward violently, where I then kept slipping the clutch for another second or two until I knew I had enough traction to floor the car and release the clutch. This technique effectively kept revs at about 4500-5000rpm, never letting it drop below 4000rpm, so I didn't have to wait so long for the turbo to spool after the initial launch. 540s are great tyres, but their sidewalls are stiff, as they're primarily a circuit tyre, just like the D01Js. Not good for drags, because they don't flex much... The NT555Rs nowever have a very soft sidewall to absorb the shock of the launch
  21. Thanks Matt Yeah, good to finally get a decent time out of her... I've got some Nitto NT555Rs coming soon, and I'll be putting them on R32 GTR rims that I've already sourced, so hopefully that will allow me to launch a tiny bit harder and go for low 12s... With slicks, and God holding the gearbox together, 11s should be possible if the mph is any indication.
  22. 60ft - 2.034 E.T. - 12.412 MPH - 114.46mph
  23. I managed to break into the 12s tonight... Should keep me satisfied until my Nittos arrive, and I'll make a run for 11s...
