i seen em advertised at one of the import wreckers in the latest zoom magazine, cant remember the name of the shop but it was $3000 i think. gto's are underrated in Oz, go check out 3si.org as mentioned and u will see the yanks rate the 4g63 up along side the 2jz for strength and potential buy one billet tf case and u have a damn strong driveline too as they are known to break tf cases. one gto ran 9.7 down the 1/4 mile and made 900awhp+ on stock internals and plenty are running 600awhp+ on stock internals and running low 11s and high 10s. i got a gto and its an awesome car for daily use and zero lag with great torque, totally different style of engine to my rb26 thats for sure. good luck

ive got a direct clutch solid centre twin plate in mine and its holding up perfect on previous car for 2 years with 350rwhp and new setup in the stagea on 545rwhp so its certainly taking a beating i paid like $1700 about 4 years ago now so i reckon they might be cheaper these days. only drama is it rattles hellll loud being a twin plate and its way rattlier than a os giken twin plate thats for sure. plus its damn heavy pedal feel and it wouldnt be ideal for daily use. must be over 3000lb pressure plate easy ive been told, though i never got it checked to find out. its all about compromises i suppose when u want more power

hey guys whats the max power at wheels i could expect with a garrett gt3040r 0.82 housing on a rb26 with 2.7l jun stroker kit, 272 11.35mm lift cams, and all supporting mods. what sort response would be possible? will it pull hard to 8500rpm or die off up top? when will it start pulling hard? i have a hks t04z (0.81) at the moment making mid 500s on 18psi but im possibly looking for a smaller turbo for street use (still keep the Z for later) as i'd love instance response rather than lag. my max power at the moment is around 8300rpm if that happens to matter and i dont want power dropping off up the top of the rpm range if possible. would a gt3540r (0.82) or gt35r (0.82) be much more responsive than a t04z or not worth the downsize for the results? any info appreciated
-
i dont know compared to other cams as ive never tried any others as yet, but heres a dyno graph on 18psi if that can shed some light oh and yes its a 2.7 but that shouldnt make a big difference i dont reckon, and that is with a 8500rpm revlimit

ive got jun 272, 11.35mm lift cams on my t04z rb26 and its great, not laggy and damn does it sound tough at idle
-
comments like that is what im talking about

i think u skyline boys just have to get out more and see the rest of the world without your skyline glasses on doesnt sound all that crash hot and the squeeking bov is annoying but besides that it looks pretty cool. cant wait to check it out in action theres more to life than rb's im afraid

i dont think they will work with gtr diff, not 100% sure but. get under your stagea and check the thickness of the axles and uni's and u will see what i mean about being piss weak heres a thread i did on the diff conversion ages ago under my old username (before i got banned for bagging workshops in Perth ahahah) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=76427&hl=

get gtr shims from "precision shims", they are based in melbourne and have done plenty of rb26 shims before http://www.precisionshims.com.au/ awesome shop and highly reccomended gtr shims are 12mm in diameter exactly if they happen to ask what size they are. thickness varies depending on cam specs.

yer stock stagea diff i had was a single spinner and it sucked bigtime, stock gtr = goodness rwd is fun with lsd, the stageas are great to control as they are soo long they dont get agressive when fishying down the road no matter what speeds u get to i think its time to hook up my 4wd or im gonna need new tyres quick smart haha
-
wouldnt have a clue about s series diffs but i do know the r32 gtr one fits in the stagea housing as they are identical housings (except the attessa pump mounting lugs) and only diff is the rear cover is bigger and ally on the gtr one. remember the axles will need changing to gtr ones and therefore u will need rear gtr hubs and gtr rear brakes, plus custom length axle on one side and a gts4 axle on the other side to make it work. oh and with the gtr rear hubs u will then need gtr rear shock mountings (or autech coilovers if u cant get hold of some) i doubt the stagea axles will hack some drifting as i snapped one with 350rwhp and that was only coming onto boost when rolling along, not even a launch. happy hunting

check the dyno results thread, it got 584rwhp on 22psi and 545rwhp on 18psi
