  1. I can vouch this car is immaculate and a very clean example, definately worth the money. Sad to see her go, but good luck with the sale
  2. When mine let go I was giving it a hit up a hill, backed off at the top of the hill, then back on the throttle going down the hill. The only difference was going up the hill I had boost, coming down the hill I didnt. It didnt make any noise, nothing, just no more boost... checked my rearvision mirror and saw the dreaded smoke screen as well and knew a turbo had failed. If you have checked everything and theres no leaks etc, then I would be leaning towards turbo failure. Remove the intake pipes and see if any have substantial amounts of oil in them.
  3. I used to have a pool but it got ripped out about 6 months ago because no-one ever used it and mum was sick of paying for shit to maintain it Doesnt help your situation though, just thought id share...
  4. Woot I was spotted for once Car wasnt liking yesterdays heat
  5. If you keep the revs up in it, its a very quick car point to point. I have seen video of it whooping a Lamborghini Murciellago around a track, and before anyone crys foul about inexperianced drivers, the Lamborghini was being driven by a professional European touring car driver. It is a very very very quick car point to point through corners, you just need the brains and balls to know how to drive it properly
  6. J racing have alot of custom and unique kits, they dont just buy straight from Jetspeed anymore.
  7. http://www.pow.com.au/eric.htm Talk to him, he would probably be one of the most clued up people as to what went on under the bonnet in them
  8. Of which I recieved the information off our designated driver, Mark, and if our designated driver pikes, me and ewen have no way in getting out there
  9. I have a set, PM me for more info.
  10. Ill be out tonite in the line
  11. The big turbos you need to crank some decent boost through for them to make good numbers. There is another guy running RB25 with forged internals and 510hp, I dare say on 9psi its nowhere near its "efficiency range".
  12. The GT3540 is a very nice turbo, and quite a good price. The problem I have read about is they only come with a 1.06 exhaust housing which is way too big for an RB25DET (more suitable for a rotary and RB30 and XR6T (the XR6T is a 3540 but with a smaller comp cover, .50 instead of .70 like you buy from Garrett). You can get the turbo modified to a .82 exhaust housing which is alot more friendly and should start to make decent boost around 3500rpm. Do not go for any of the .6x sized exhaust housings as these are too violent coming onto boost and you will just wheelspin everywhere. A guy off these forums fitted one on his RB25DET by the name of NisJet, it made 210rwkw on 12psi. His car has 3 inch exhaust, intercooler, power fc, fuel pump. --- EDIT --- Do a search for GT3540 and you will see a few people that have run them. Most that keep the large 1.06 housing have forged internals and need to rev the car to 8000rpm to make good power out of it. Also does that price include a new manifold? I think it was Roy on these forums a while ago wrote you need spacer plates to put it on the stock manifold or else the comp cover will hit, and it generates heat spots and warps the stock manifold.
  13. Hi Anthony, We will probably still be sitting at the restaurant outside, youre welcome to come along and say hi. In the middle of braddon theres a mobil service station that will be closed, the restaurant is on the corner opposite of that
  14. Just to let everyone know (on advice from Jayce) that there will be a banquet tonight at $21 per person instead of individual orders.
  15. Not sure if its already been asked or not (and theres 85 pages to search through), Im just looking for a quick answer as to wether theres any difference between the R31 RB30 and the VL RB30. I can pickup a complete R31 with an RB30E for quite a reasonable price and am looking at building it up over 12 months or so, then using my RB26 head on my current engine on it.
  16. Im guessing the reruns of Jag are on?
  17. From what youve said it sounds like theres a bit of work been done to it, but dont want to jump to conclusions. Does the clutch make a metallic ringing noise when you push the clutch pedal in? Also if it was a gearbox bearing, you would assume the gearbox would whine in all gears. Judging from everything else youve said, I wouldnt be suprised if it had straight cut and/or dogged 1st 2nd and 3rd gears. As Morgs said, what else is done to the car?
  18. Its on Friday, and I think Jayce said he needs definate numbers this afternoon to book with so make your mind up boy!! Also is it outside seating??
  19. Is it the balance pipe type manifold?
  20. Hmm maybe I should head out to Braddon tonite as well...
  21. Youre not meant to regap iridium plugs, but I have done so before without any problems
  22. Is the car completely stock? If so, then yes those plugs will work. If you have exhaust/airpod/raised boost/any other mods, then you need the closer gap plugs.
  23. You need BCPR6EIX not BCPR6EIX-11. The -11 means the plugs are gapped at 1.1mm, the ones without the -11 are gapped at 0.8mm. Also dont screw them in so tight to the point they are breaking, screw them in firmly, but dont keep forcing them tighter and tighter.
  24. Im in two minds about imports entering summernats. On one hand its great to see imports being entered, but on the other hand, the show is about V8's and should maybe be kept to that genre... *shrug* whatever works. Also, can I mooch yet another seat on Friday night? A friend Michael wouldnt mind coming along, he loves GTR's, and a few of you (Richard + Jayce) met him last week on NYE.
  25. Will be out in my car on Wednesday and Thursday nights
