  1. Sounds like the starter motor may have seized. Try a bigger hammer on it to loosen it up. And check that the earth strap from the engine to the chassis is ok.
  2. I think you actually lost a "chamois".
  3. Clean the AAC valve (search)
  4. Yes, you have a problem with pistons / rings sealing inside the bore. I once saw a R34 GTR that would effectively empty its sump into the catch can as soon as it hit boost - turned out to be a hole in a piston.
  5. The injectors run a constant +12V, and the ECU switches them to earth. Did you have the injectors checked and cleaned prior to installation of the engine?
  6. If you are using Optimax ... STOP. Switch to Mobil 8000 or BP Ultimate.
  7. Did the engine come with its own coil packs? S2 coil packs have the ignitor built-in; S1 needs an ignitor module.
  8. Those values appear to be within spec across the range of engines. So I would say that the sensor is working perfectly.
  9. I've got a used one you could borrow until Nissan get a new one in for you. PM for contact details.
  10. How old is the fuel filter?
  11. I'm with SK on this one. If he doesn't know the answer, then there isn't an answer. Stupid Q - are the fuel lines on the right way around?
  12. The injector is not exposed to the flame, so, yes, consider yourself corrected. The principle of the injector cleaner is to dissolve bits of resin and crap off the needle of the injector, so that the spray pattern isn't disrupted. And so that the injector always closes completely, preventing excess fuel leaking into the cylinder. Unfortunately it's not always successful. It usually works best in maintaining the injectors after an ultrasonic clean.
  13. You are right to question the safety of this product. I have lost count of the number of people who have had pistons melt as a result of adding Nulon Petrol Injector Cleaner to their fuel.
  14. Engine vacuum is measuring the vacuum in the plenum. As you open the throttle, vacuum decreases (pressure moves closer too 0 (atmospheric) pressure). So, I'm thinking that unless the air is leaking directly into the manifold / plenum, you will not detect an air leak by observing idle vacuum.
  15. My money is on the TPS not sending a "throttle closed" signal to the ECU. Should be 0 ohms across pins 1,2 (or 2,3 - can never remember the combo lol).
  16. I expect slotted rotors (or any upgraded rotor) at the rear will have minimal effect on braking efficiency, since the majority of the braking is carried on the front rotors / pads. The best result I achieved was after fitting braided lines (even better than simply replacing with new Nissan rubber lines).
  17. It's only f****d if you were parked out of direct sunlight. Try shining a torch on the sensor (little "button" on the passenger side of the dashboard, near the base of the windscreen).
  18. It's probably "compressor surge", caused by the fact that the engine has not been tuned to ingest 14psi of air.
  19. Most modern wheels centre on the hub itself, not on the studs. The probability is that the spacers are preventing the wheel centring properly. This is where the "imbalance" above 80-85 k is probably coming from. And make sure they centre the steering wheel and align to that.
  20. The blue centre is attached to the camshaft - yes? Then moving the blue bit to the left (ANTI-clockwise) moves the camshaft ANTI-clickwise (retarded).
  21. Engine will start and run fine from cold because that is what the sensor is telling the ECU. However, if the sensor is shagged, it continues to tell the ECU that the engine is cold, despite the fact that the engine is actually up to temperature. When the engine is hot, it doesn't run so well when the ECU is dumping sufficient fuel to keep a cold engine running. It's certainly worthy of consideration in your quest for a resolution to the problem.
  22. Have one. It was originally attached to a Stagea RB25DET, but I imagine they will all be pretty much the same. Slip me a 50 and it's yours. PM if you are interested.
  23. Did you clean the coils (remove dust, grime, etc) while you had it all apart? Dirty coils will allow arcing of the spark to places other than the spark plug.
  24. [qte]A peer restriction scheme for all first-year red P plate (P1) drivers will be introduced from July [uQte] If they were really serious about it, they would introduce them effective next week
  25. All the lights in the instrument cluster are warning lights.
