No Suspension Travel - Help
blind_elk replied to meanman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
A test for you to carry out first. Jack up the front of the car, and fit a cable-tie around the shock absorber pushrod. Make sure the tie is down hard against the shock body. Drop the car, now jack it up again. Observe where the tie is - if it's hard up against the bump stop, then you have no suspension travel. If there is still some clearance, then you probably just have super stiff springs. -
No, you need to be in contact with a metal part of the car as you get out. Once you are out, it's too late.

It's not the car, it's your clothing. Too much polyester / synthetics. When you are jumping around in the seat, the rubbing of you clothes on the cloth of the seat generates a static charge. To avoid the jolt, make sure you have a hold of the door frame as your foot touches the ground.

Is the steering rack available? Condition is not important. -
Can R32 Gts4 Suspension Fit In To R33 Gts4?
blind_elk replied to SkyKC's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
In the R32s, I know that GT-R suspension fits the GTS4. Might be the same in R33, so look for a GT-R set that someone is replacing / upgrading. -
If your A/c was regassed, then it will have the most modern gas. Apparently, that gas requires more cooling of the A/c radiator than the older style gasses. So, even the normal engine fan is not enough to properly cool the A/c gas.I struck this problem when I ran a thermo fan on the engine - at low speeds, high revs (eg taking off from lights), it sounded like I had an atmo BOV because of the way the A/c gas gets compressed then expands through the radiator. Fixed it by re-installing the engine fan and re-wiring the A/c fan to come on with the A/c (not just the compressor).

They can still use the plasma component THALASSAEMIA - that would make you anaemic, which probably precludes you. But, as I said, let the Red Cross be the judge.

Q Travel - I have travelled outside of Australia . Can I still donate blood? A. In most cases, yes. However, travel to an area with a risk of insect-borne or animal-borne infections can result in symptomless infection that can be transmitted through blood transfusion. There are 3 areas of concern related to infection risks with overseas travel. These are: a) Malaria risk: Malaria is the most common example of insect-borne infection and is prevalent in many tropical and sub-tropical areas. To prevent transmission of malaria from donors who have travelled to these countries, only the plasma portion of the donation is used for a period of 1 to 3 years after returning. This plasma is sent to be processed into plasma products (which do not transmit the malaria organism). In July 2005, the Australian Red Cross Blood Service introduced malaria testing in order to reduce this period of time to as little as 4 months, after which a malaria test is performed. If this test is negative, the donation can be used for transfusion or plasma product production. This test will be progressively extended to all Australian states. b) HIV risk: Some overseas countries have a high prevalence of HIV infection among the general community. A person who has sex with a person who lives in one of these areas is deferred from donating for a period of 12 months in order to exclude the possibility of HIV transmission. c) Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) risk The UK is experiencing an ongoing epidemic of variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), the human form of mad cow disease or bovine spongiform encephalopathy. Since 2004, there have been a small number of reported cases of patients in the United Kingdom (UK) diagnosed with vCJD who may have been infected through blood transfusion. Based on this information, and in the absence of a reliable screening test for vCJD in blood, the Australian Red Cross Blood Service has implemented guidelines to reduce the risk of vCJD transmission through blood transfusion in Australia. Currently we wxclude people from donating who: * Have resided in the UK between 1980 and 1996 for a total time of 6 months or more, or * Have received blood transfusions in the UK since 1 January 1980. The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is monitoring progress in the development of a reliable blood screening test for vCJD. Should this deferral policy be changed for any reason, please be assured that this onformation will be disseminated widely.

I would suggest it's not looking good. But you've really got nothing to lose by joining us on Sunday. Have a look on their website http://www.donateblood.com.au/page.aspx?ID...8&parent=30There are quite a number of different disease covered in that list. The Africa question is possibly answered | V

Can I suggest you not install forged pistons. I did in my RB25DET, and I cannot stop it devouring oil. Forged pistons need to be HOT, and my experience is that normal driving does not seem to introduce enough heat to force the piston to expand properly.
-
Yes, I generally just use the Nulon stuff.

Well, I'm on. If you're going to Ash's bash, then you might not be on for Sunday. There's an earlier post (#56, 4 above this one) regarding how they determine your next donation time. Any other late starters want to join us Sunday 10am?

R32 Front End Repair?
blind_elk replied to DaShMiEsTeR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Really not adviseable to drive with the risk of it running out of water and stuffing an engine as well. But, if he MUST drive it, just fit the radiator cap on the first catch position ie don't lock it down. That will prevent water splashing out, but will prevent the system pressurising and assisting with the rate of water loss through the broken segment of radiator. -
R32s have a switch that the driver can activate that disables the passenger window. Does the R33 have the same setup?

I would suggest the Cold Start Air valve, located on the underside of the inlet plenum, is not opening to bleed air on cold starts.

Clutch Pedal Wont Go Back Up!
blind_elk replied to jerry's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The pedal has a return spring, so it won't be affected by air in the system. I suspect you've broken the pedal box. -
Glen Waverley There should be at least 1 pic of the 15s up in the gallery 195/70 from memoryJust had a look at your pic - those look pretty much like the 15s

Where are you Andrew? If in Melbourne, I can help you out with a set of either stock 14s or a set of 15s, all with RW tyres.

Do I Need A New Flywheel?
blind_elk replied to Italiazr1's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I wouldn't expect you to need a new flywheel, unless it is damaged. Probably all it will need will be a light "surface". -
Help Getting The Right Compression For Rb26/30?

Might not have enough gas. Go see an air con specialist.

There is a 'valet' switch that disables the remote release. It's possible that something in the boot has accidentally knocked it to the 'valet' position. If your key lock is broken, you may need to get a locksmith (as mentioned previously) to break in for you.

Disc Rotors Squeel

I fitted new pads over the weekend for the same reason (wear markers annoying me). I still had, I reckon, about half the pad material left.
