  1. GTS4 is the same as GT-R. Although the fronts are the same across the R32 range, GT-R/GTS4 rears have a different lower mounting setup to the GTSt.
  2. I would trust the SAFC - it's digital, your tacho is analog. But really, the tacho is basically for information, it is not necessarily definitive.
  3. I suspect a partially open thermostat. Dime a dozen, so to speak. At least pull it out and check it. Costs next to nothing.
  4. Probably not a good idea to leave out the fan shroud. But I don't believe that is causing this "problem". I say "problem", because I think what is happening is perfectly explainable, and normal. The situation of having the cooling system under pressure during engine operation is to increase the boiling point of the water. (coolant generally is added for metal protection, and ethylene glycol in the coolant lowers the freezing point of the water). Obviously, when the engine stops, the pressure in the cooling system is removed. As the pressure reduces, it gets to a point where the pressure is less than that required to prevent the coolant boiling at its current temperature / pressure condition. If you are not losing coolant, and the engine appears to be running at a reasonable operating temperature, then I don't believe there is anything to worry about. But, for peace of mind, might I suggest you get an external temperature gauge connected to monitor the actual coolant temperatures.
  5. Shouldn't ever do it in 2WD mode. As per the several thousand other threads that discuss this problem, the ATTESSA thinks the rear wheels are slipping, because they are smaller rolling diameter than the fronts, and therefore rotate faster.I am still at a loss as to how many times we have to tell AWD owners to match the front and rear wheel / tyre sizes.
  6. If you were able to set timing, then #1 coilpack IS firing. And you said it works fine in other cylinders. Your problem could be a gummed up injector in #1. It might be wise to get them all cleaned anyway.
  7. How does changing an engine have any effect on the wipers? Certainly didn't when I swapped a RB25 into by 32 GTS4.
  8. Normally attaches to the heat shield that should be covering the turbo.
  9. AAMI is paying for the repairs. I reckon that gives them to right to say who will repair it. If it's one of their "preferred repairers", then you have every recourse to see that the repair is carried out to your satisfaction. Put yourself in their shoes - if you had to pay for someone else's repairs out of your own pocket, wouldn't you want to do it for the least possible cost?
  10. I believe the skirt - the surface the sump bolts to - is wider in the AWD version of the RB25 block.
  11. Anyone who fitted a camber kit to a bent upper control arm should be shot! Castor is usually responsible for the car steering one way or the other. Did you get Pedders to check all the suspension components? What are the alignment settings? I'm guessing a failed castor bush on the LHS. (not forgetting that the camber of the road is usually to the left)
  12. Fuel doesn't "go off" that quickly. I take about 2 weeks to go through a tank (BP Ultimate), and I've yet to notice any fall off in performance week to week.
  13. Have you got fluid in the master cylinder?
  14. AFAIK, the sumps are not intertchangeable. You will have to get an adapter, or have a sump custom made.Other than that, the engine will be a simple bolt-in.
  15. In my experience, Nissan gearboxes are pretty well bullet proof. You really have to be brutal to it to break it.I'm pushing 180 AwkW through my R32 GTS4 gearbox (RB25DET driving through an Exedy HD clutch), and it has never even looked like failing.
  16. There were some hot brakes too:
  17. Wait, found a couple more:
  18. Could only find a couple of reasons to attend the AGP:
  19. Found a new home for the ticket.
  20. I have a 4-day pass available to anyone who wants it. PM me if interested.
  21. Checking out a "showbag" from a recent event, found a brochure for some things called rimskins - www.rimskins.com.au - which might cover up the rash you have now and prevent the problem in the future.
  22. What plugs are they? Type, heat range, gap?
  23. Currently running Falken 912 on my 32 GTS4. Never really had any dramas with Falkens in general. Also been happy with the Bridgestone Potenza GIIIs.
