I would really like to have these wheels but I cant seem to find them, but they are on this car so I know they exist. I want them in 18"..........
-
My only other option, is one other set of rims that I also happen to like. However I can't track them down or get any information on them... I know they are Dritek's but that is all. I can only find them in gold and in 17". The rims on this car though are silver AND really look like they are 18" so if anyone knows anything about them PLEASE let me know....
-
Yeah, but i reeealy would rather they not be illegal and un-roadworthy...
-
The rims come in one offset only, and one width only. They are the only 18" rim in that style. The rims can be sent back if I dont want them, but I would then have to find another rim... I have looked around and there are none I like. I just spoke to my mate, he was saying that machining 3 mill off the caliper would have no effect on the brakes which is obvious, the rims are still preserved and there are no illegal spacers. Doing this also allow for more rims with a similar problem to fit my car if someone I sell the car to wants to change them.... So it only means loosing the "Nissan" from the caliper (or most of it), which is no big deal... it seems the most logical solution out of the three options.

The bit that holds the bonnet down. So when you pop your bonnet inside the car, then u got to the front of your car, there is a little handle you reach under to lift, then the bonnet can be raised. On a GTS(T) the latch secures to the front of the bonnet, due to the differences in the GTR bonnet the latch will not line up, AND it is in the way of where the grill would be located...
-
Well I would just get sum sh*t box for now and save while im on p's. Then by the time you are 21 you can get a nice GTR like you planned. Getting a non-turbo 32 i think you will regret. The rb25de engined r32 would be a little better, but yeah I would just wait till I could get a turbo and save in the meantime. Then again, I have owned an r32 gts-t while on P's and it was my first car... so saying to buy a sh*t box to roll around in for 3 years is very easy to say, and much harder to do.

lol, thats ok, easy mistake to make, there is only one letter of difference in our niknames... Im thinking maybe spacers are the safest option, cause id only need 4mill spacers. I will look into it further, its just these rims i have wanted for sooo long, there are no rims similar! Spending that much money, I don't want to compromise.
-
That was not my post, 32line said that stuff. I can appreciate what you are saying, and will take your advice into consideration. The rims in question I really want so I want to consider the options because there are no other rims I like. I cant believe how many hideos rim designs there are in the market and soo few nice ones. The spokes of the rims are very thick (hence the problem) and taking a few mill out of a tiny section of each rim should not compromise its rigidity.... imo
-
Yeah, i considered doing this, but first you need to pay for a 32 gtr bonnet, which being made out of aluminium is not cheap for one that is perfect. Then you need the latch, more money... apparently the gts-t latch can be modified but you would need to be able to work with metal etc... Then you have the grill. The bonnet will be fine without it but it will look off without the grill. The grill are another item that sell for a pretty penny, a lot of ppl want them, so be prepared to pay a bit for that... If you are happy with all that, then yes it can deffinately be done for a price...

well my friends wheels are fine, they took about 3-4mill out of his, it would be the same situation.
-
Im not getting spacers, cause i dont want the car to be un-road worthy.... The other option, which my mate has done to his car, is take a few mill out of the inside of the rim where it is currently scraping....
-
As the title suggests, I just ordered some rims and went to fit onto car and they dont clear the brake calipers. The guy suggested machining the calipers, so that the word "Nissan" disappears cause that is the bit that the rims hits.... Anyone had similar problems? How you get around it? Any help much appreciated Do people just use spacers despite the fact that they are illegal? (well in VIC at least)
-
Yeah I am glad we spent time getting it right. I am really happy with how the shots came out....
-
Nismo.... but its gunna cost ya $$$$

I think this happened to my friends 32 can't be sure, but I don't know how common it is. Can't be much wrong though, i'd say its an easy fix. Once mine stopped working, but i was having problems with a hose at the time. It connected the inlet manifold to the map sensor I think, it came off and my boost gauge stopped moving. Now that was a VERY easy fix!

http://www.carsales.com.au/ Why have you attached a picture of an R34?? I fail to see the connection..... What state are you in? On all of carsales there are 3 r32's that are non-turbo. One in VIC (GTS25), 2 in QLD .... The non-turbo's are much less popular, particularly in the r32. Why don't you want a turbo?

Weather it has real life application or not, read the original post in this thread: So this thread is questioning which is fastest when new. The answer to question #1 is the 32 GTR... no need for further discussion

I agree 100%

Mate seriously, have a look around this website: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry2987670 ^^ That is a thread soley for people to post up pictures of r32's.... The thread is currently 29 pages long... the most recent thread my mate put up of his and my 32's with our mates s15... we both have gun metal grey!

Ask and you shall receive: My mates r32 before he sold it, I loved this car sooo much...
-
Ok, you look for information of the r32,33 & 34 GTR... I have seen nowhere stats that say the r33/34 GTR can do a 1/4 mile in 12.7 seconds... One example: http://www.importdriver.com.au/Coupe_Targa.htm But if best motoring can do 12.7 then thats gospel... And correct me if I am wrong, but the entire show is in japanese, so how are you 100% assured the cars in question are stock? do you speak fluent japanese?
-
Yeah like you said if it drops in price then you can consider it, but at $13,000 for a 93 model it would want to be better than it is. The rust is a concern to me, on imports some of the cars in japan are driven in areas where it snows and they put salt on the road, this is bad news for the car as rust is a likely result. If it has already got rust arrears its not a good sign and a year later you could find it to be a lot worse. So put all that to the seller and say at its current price it is not in your consideration, but you may consider it if its cheaper and u can spend money on it getting it all sweet.. Has it got any mods, or rims/kit/stereo? if not for $13k its quite pricey for what it is..... with the rust that is "getting a bit deep" and has your mechanic concerned then you really need to think if its worth considering at all. If so come up with a price that you would pay and be happy and then negotiate but do NOT go above that price.
-
Keep dreaming.... I was in Japan recently, quality R32 GTR's are VERY highly regarded over there. My mate purchased a GTR there, and a 'nice' 1994 R32 GTR Vspec for $20k you will not find... and im talking purchase price, not including import/compliance etc etc. Such a car could be upto $30k in japan for a good one. I saw one for sale in a magazine which i took home, R32 GTR V-Spec II with 10,000km and to buy it in Japan it was 3,700,000 JPY... which is over $40,000 AUD. The car was not modified and granted it has insanely low mileage, but that price gives you an idea of the interest in good R32 GTR's.
-
Then thats easy, dont buy it In all honesty it seems high price for a car that has some issues and it is the oldest of the r33's, i mean its the same age as my 32 ( I know which I'd have, haha ... you will never find a car that is perfect but its how many little issues you are prepared to accept. For that kind of money my mate got a mint R32 GTS-T but he did very well. I got my car a bit cheaper but its was stock as which i wanted and the paint was stone chipped etc cause the owner lived in the country, but i got a respray for $2k and got an exhaust, soon to get rims and suspension and with that I will have a car that I am very happy with. My main focus was a mechanically sound car. To me it sounds like you need to see a few more and bring a friend, second opinions are always good. Best of luck

Is it an R32 or R33?
