The compressor for the air conditioner in my car is stuffed. To buy a new one would cost a packet and would not be worth it. So I thought i'd get a second hand one. But if mine has given up and its from my 32, any other 32 compressor is likely to be close to doing the same. So I was wondering if I could get one from like a 97 model r33 which is a bit newer. Is it compatible and how much am I up for to buy one (apprx) Thanks in advance!!

I have Phillips BlueVision globes in my projector headlights, they looks white. In hindsight I would have got Philips CrystalVision, they are whiter, my mate has them in his s15, looks sweet.

What Is Your Fuel Of Preference And Why?
r32line replied to skybt1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Ultimate, V-Power and synergy 8000 are the only petrols I use. I am pretty sure synergy 8000 is the one i get the most k's and performance from but who knows, they are all good. But V-power racing contains ethanol I am almost sure so I did not want to use/try it. Plus it costs the earth! -
Interesting given your avatar and signature have pics of only 33's. So Im betting that you are a 33 owner too. Your 33 must be faster so its fully more hectic......

- If your ford fairmont auto gives you a "rush" then when you get an r32 gts-t you are in for a treat. I drive my parents 3.5lt v6 magna (150kw) and it is resonably responsive but the power from my car leaves it for dead. - My 32 gts-t when completely stock (except for a very shit and cheap cat back which I am sure was not helping performance at all - its long gone now) did 0-100km/h in 6.57 seconds with a G-tech metre. Show me a VS commodore v6 that close to that.... they are shit slow, so are the supercharged variants and even the 5.0litre V8 would be on par with a 32 but quite possibly slower (especially auto) - An r32 gts-t weighs 1320kg..... a VS commodore is over 1500kg.... your mates sound well informed!! - A cat back exhaust does shit all other than change the sound of your car. An exhaust is only as good as its thinest piece. If you pump water through a series of pipes the water can only get through as fast as the thinest pipe will allow...same goes for exhast gas out the back of your car! The quicker you get used gases out of the engine the quicker you can bring in new air and petrol! That is why a turbo back 3" the whole way is required and will give a noticeable power increase as it did in my car. - That "pshhhht" sound will always be there because the turbo has a blow off valve but in a dead stock car it is relatively quiet. Put a pod filter ($50 - $100) on and you will hear it much louder and with the exhaust its better again. - This site has lots of info so the more you look around it and read various posts the more you will learn. If you are budgeting $10k for your r32 that is fine but it will not be perfect, i.e - paint might be f*ked, or engine has had it, etc etc so in my opinion such a car is not "clean", but as you go you can fix it up the way you want it and it will become better. BEST OF LUCK

Nice cars, reminds me of mine and my mates 32's (both gunmetal too) But I must ask, whos is quicker?
-
Thanks man, Yeah the next mod is definately getting TEIN coilovers for it... will look much nicer when its lower, cant wait, but my clutch is slipping now so ill need to sort that first.... the rims are RTG... its not really a known brand or anything, im pretty dure they are made by that KOYA company. But I luv the rims, did a bit of searching to find them and then had to profile my calipers down to get them to fit, R32 brakes are so fkn big!!!

I just realised.... PAGE 32.... whooo!!!!

Thanks, not sure what you mean by crystal clear indicators. I bought them while i was in japan, they are just clear plastic and yeah pretty much same as headlights and they sit pretty flush, the original orange indicators the car came with didnt sit 100% flush and perfect either. But I really like the clear indicators, glad i bought them.

Here is mine..... only thing left is to get it lowered... its been on the list for a while! *edit - sorry about the quality its only phone camera

Yeah the 20 every built are probably doing 0-400m in 15 seconds and are pieces of shit.... im sure the fact that "In beast motoring #15 the Nismo Z-tune broke the street car lap record previously held by the Ferrari F360R." means nothing also because everything is based on what other cars with 330awkw can do at the drags. The amount of engineering that went into developing that car and testing on the Nurburgring, the suspension alone is worth $20,000 USD ( but i read that so it must be wrong) yet you compare it to people at the drags.....

sweet, thanks for the replys guys

Ask and you shall receive...... http://www.ne.jp/asahi/tomosang/skyline/data/index.htm Every R32 brochure you could want!

What Bad Can Launching Do To Your Car?
r32line replied to bugger's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Launching a car is about as harsh an action as you can do... the most common component to give out is the clutch assuming its not aftermarket (like a twin plate etc) but as mentioned above there is also the g/box and diff at risk. -
^^ I dont really know much about suspension and most of what your talking about there makes no sense to me..... where you say original springs, isnt the coilover an all in one unit the replaces your springs etc? or do u mean the spring the coilover comes with? I really would just like to see a 32 with them fitted and get a real idea of what it will look like.

Hey guys, Can anyone post a picture of their R32 GTS-T (prefereable with 18" rims) that had TEIN super streets (with upper mounts) that has them set at there absolute lowest setting (front & rear)... I am considering buying a full setup but I am concerned that it won't be low enough. Thanks in advance

What that thread doesn't allow for is the fact that the z tune was hand crafted by nismo engineers. The amount of detail and precision that went into that car is insane, i have watched a documentary one it. The a pillar forward is carbon fibre, the brakes as specially built for the car, the suspension is insane. All this and much more means this is not your regular 330awke GTR, its power delivery would be far more reliable and linear. I can't count the amount of places I have read that this car has completed 0-400m in times from 10.02 seconds - 10.2secs... NOT 10.9 +

Right, so what time does it run down the 1/4mile then??

Seriouly, I BEG that you read before you post things like this. Smurf said: Holden, have "released" their "new model" barina and it is NOT superior to the "previous model" He asked a question and I answered it.... And then you tell me it does not relate to the argument.... I WAS ANSWERING HIS QUESTION...... PLEASE FFS don't make me say it again! I know that the new barina is sourced from Daewoo but it is still the car Holden have released as the NEW barina!

EXACTLY!!!!!! PLEEEEEAAAASSSSSEE SHUT THIS THREAD DOWN, it will achieve NOTHING.

Hahaha, i dont agree with that statement at all. You cannot apply rules like 16% more power but only 6% more weight means its faster... I know the R33 is quicker (in a straight line) but just because one cars power to weight ratio is better than another cars it does not mean that car is going to be faster. How a car puts its power down introduces countless other variables....Tyres, AWD vs RWD vs FWD, Traction control system, launch control.... I wont bother continuing
-
yeah mine and my mates 32's have that clip (pic one). Would've been connected to the standard spoiler i assume, but i have no spoiler and mate has GTR spoiler (no light).
-
This is common in r32's and skylines in general, if your not too engine savvy just take it to a mechanic and raise the idle, if the idle like 500rpm or below they splutter and jump around all over the place. Mine never used to be good but i got it raised to 700rpm and its much better. Another common reason they can idle like shit is the aac valve being dirty etc. If it is removed and thoroughly cleaned/greased etc and is like new it always helps the idle. Hope that helps.
