  1. Sorry, I should have clarified, I was in Japan recently and you can order parts for R32's from nissan. I was suprised, any part i enquired about they had there, i got brand new interior panels for the surround of the 2 small side whindows in the r32 coupes. Every 32 ive been in they are warped, but i can replace mine with brand new ones now The prices over there are less than what Nissan Australian charge you... but essentially if you have to have a brand new one, the only place i know that could get it is Nissan (and it would come from japan) but if you order through Nissan Australia im sure it will not be cheap! Depends how badly you have to have a new one!
  2. The only place to buy a new one is order it from Nissan, or get one from Japan. Your best bet is to look in the for sale section (car parts & accessories) of this forum: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...hp?showforum=12 There are always people selling various parts, or wrecking cars. A lot of people change the steering wheel in their GTR so you might be able to buy the original one from them if they selling... Also there is the wanted to buy section, post up what you want, and if someone has what you are after they might let you know how much they want for it, and its condition. Some second hand ones are very much that "second hand" but ive seen good examples.
  3. There are differences, but they are minimal. The early model was made in 89 - 91 i believe and the next version came out in 92 till 93. The early model has blue dials in the instrument cluster, smooth finish centre surround, rb20 embossed on the front of the engine. The next version had all black dials, dash centre surruound same finish as dash, no embossed 'rb20' on the front of the block, and a nicer velour trim on the seats, but many seating options were available. This pic should illustrate the points I am making: They are the main ways to tell them appart, in terms of whatever minor mechanical differences there are i'm not sure.
  4. I had a look at the rails under mine, they are straight and fine, but at the jacking point on both sides they are a little dinted (very slight) but i was looking closely at it, they are not as strong as i first thought, its is quite likely the damage on the vehicle we inspected was caused by someone jacking the car in the middle of each side to change two wheels at once. Not as big a deal as i first thought, and as someone mentioned could be used as a very good bargaining tool... I want to try get an estimate on the repair as the rails seem to be an insert and not one piece of steel running the length of the car.
  5. Yeah i have seen damaged rails before, these were a little more squashed than normal, but the car was deffinately straight and handled well etc which is why i thought maybe i should not right it off. If my friend is still considering i will go again with him and take detailed shots of the rails to show you all. shame i didnt have my camera at the time.....
  6. When looking at an r33 gts-t recently for a friend we were happy with the car overall, it looked good drove well etc. However, we noticed when inspecting the underneath of the car that the chassis rails on both sides were squashed in (like as if a forklift had bent it) but im not sure if this was the cause. What do people think about this and would it be of big concern because it put us off the car, but i am now thinking it might be worth getting a mechanical inspection on the car as it otherwise seemed a good buy. All opinions welcome......
  7. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE VEYRON!!! every statistic about it is mind blowing it is insane in every way and it sounds VERY tough but i really think its sound is not that unique, its a lot like a deep rumble of a V8 except deeper and more like an earthquake. The Carrera GT on the other hand has such an awesome howl I think i would need tissues if i ever heard one drive by! I cant think of another road car that sounds anything like it, the next closest thing is an F1 car....
  8. Skylines are RHD, all cars in US are LHD. So while there are some skylines, they are a rare find, hence you are not going to find a US skylines forum...
  9. You might want to add what type of mod's you are talking about, performance / visual, your budget, what you hope to achieve and what your car has as is....
  10. Yeah I was more thinking of engines as they came from the factory... but many people on here would agree that a tuned rb26 is a very mean sounding animal.
  11. Yeah i love it, and theres a reason in sounds a lot like a race car.....
  12. I was recently having this discussion with my friend and I was wondering what other people thought was the best sounding engine in a road car. For pure aural perfection i think there is no match for the Porsche Carrera GT... If you are not sure what i am talking about refer to the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnwfSbVGxCk But I am sure there are others which come close.....
  13. Haha, I was wondering if there would be a way to get a dash mat for a JDM car like the 32. I am not a fan of dash mats cause to me they are the same as a car bra, why protect it all the time if its always covered and u rarely see it in its full glory. However i was thinking of having a mat on when i park the car etc then just leave it in the boot or whatever when im in the car, but might be better to just use the UV window cover so the rest of the car is protected from the sun too...
  14. Yeah deff, but when i clean the car inside and out, i like it all to look immaculate, which is why i used to use armorall on the current dash. So beside covering it from the sun, I wanted to know what products would protect the plastic and make it look its best...
  15. Hey guys, Just wanted to ask what product(s) you use to protect your r32 dashboard. My current dashboard has bubbled as i have seen in many r32's. I managed to buy a 2nd hand dash off some1 on SAU who was wrecking a gts4 which is not bubbled. As such I dont want this dash to go down the same track so im wondering what is best to use to protet it, im going to buy the biggest UV windscreen protector i can find to keep the sun off it obviously as i know what that can do to it, but i have heard armorall can dry out the plastic and cause the plastic to crack. Apparently it makes it look shiny and new but when it dries up it takes all the moisture with it... Most interested for your feedback!!
  16. Hey man, i love the DEFI gauges!! Looks really nice, and the car looks hot too! Did you go to japan to find it and bring it back yourself??
  17. Man, take that thing in the picture to autobarn and they will have a globe that will match, just check for the save volts/watts. Take the globe out of the little piece of plastic, put in the new one and you are fine!
  18. yeah thats fair enough, but its not that cheap the one i have, its just the seams where it joins arent well stitched, but the material is very soft and im sure it hadnt affected the paint!
  19. Like $80 at autobarn, it wasnt the most expensive one there, but it hasnt been the best, it tears very easily, at the seams it has splits in 3 places at the momnet and im careful every time i put it on, im thankful for electric folding mirrors everytime i put it on though
  20. Wow, very nice, thats exactly what i want when i eventually become a home owner.. post up pics when its finished. Unfortunately this is where my car resides atm:
  21. I don't understand? are you saying it comes on orange when you are low, and if it gets lower then it goes red? i've only ever seen mine as an orange light.... But i have never let my fuel tank get really really low.
  22. That's pretty bad fuel consumption, something definately not right there!! I always get 10 - 11/lts per 100km and a lot of that is in busy traffic and when im not in traffic im often stretching its legs. Overall i dont drive it that hard but i certainly dont putter around! Has your consumption been like this since you got the car? Might be worth putting it on a dyno and checking the a/f ratio's etc...
  23. Bit like putting a GTR badge on a GTS-T if you ask me..... I have the genuine ones in my car which i bought while in japan, they are well made, if you're gunna get some get the real thing... imo
  24. Yeah you are correct, GT4's are not as quick as r32 gts-t's. For a start a GT4 will be pushing to do 0-100km/h in under 7 seconds (that is the Rallye edtn which is the top model and faster by my understanding, so a normal GT4 will be slower)... A 32 gts-t will do it in 6.5 secs. And before you say they are factory times, i bought my gts-t over a year ago (so it was 13yrs old at the time), with no mods other than a cat back exhaust which was terrible and cheap and more than likely lost power over the stock system, and using a g-tech meter i did 0-100km.h in 6.57secs Good luck with your search for a 32, but personally i'd be budgeting a little more than $10,000 to find a good example otherwise you could be in for a lot more money down the track... but see how you go! Keep us posted!
  25. Well based on that list I would be hunting for an r32 non-turbo. There is also the R32 GTS25 with the rb25de so you have an n/a 2.5lt straight 6 which is a nice smooth engine and would be a nice drive! Also you should be able to find one that has had an easier life than most of the turbo models and if u look after it, it should serve you well, plus you can pick them up pretty cheap! Best of luck, let us know how it goes... P.S, here is just one example i found in QLD on carsales, im sure the price could be negotiated as non-turbo's are obviously less popular: http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...e|1&trecs=2
