  1. Tell your mum? I dont understand :
  2. Photos like this, and just about any other fantasy car can be found at www.dieselstation.com All photos are high res and generally 1600 x 1200 and more pics are available in widescreen versions. Great site for wallpapers for ur computer, luv the website............
  3. Oh wow, that is impressive then! God I love GTR's
  4. But i think those times of 12.9/13.0 were recorded in japan with the higher octane of petrol they have, what we consider high octane is pretty much normal low grade for them. But at any rate, they are very quick, and with minor mods can be easily made quicker....
  5. Fingers crossed you car comes under 'contents' in your house and contents insurance...cause im sure its better to claim through house insurance than car insurance, rating 1 compromised etc...goodluck
  6. Well if so, not many cops i ahve encountered are aware of that, when with a freind in a 32 we were pulled over by police and an epa officer checked the car, asked if the pod filter was a dry element filter, which it was and said it needs to be secured to be legal, so got defected for that. In total i have been with ppl in 32's or in my own 32 and been pulled over 4 or 5 times and never been told the pod filter was illegal, but thats not to say they aren't, just sounds like not many cops will defect you for it. They are quite common modification that i have seen on a lot of cars, but that doesnt make them legal i know.
  7. Yeah i saw the ep, and heard her mention skylines aus. Didnt think much of the car show trying to copy top gear with the test of the Range Rover Sport vs tank...But the zonda was stunning
  8. The r32 gts/gtst was only built up to and including 1993, the only r32 built in 1994 was the gtr... at least thats what i thought, probably wrong. Also i've never heard of a 1995 r32 gtr, is there such a thing?? surely any would be worth a bit if nissan stopped production in January 1995 (assuming the above information is correct)
  9. Thats what i was saying earlier in my post...a pod by itself is not illegal, but if you have an intercooler then you cant have a pod aswell...its either one or the other, thats y its b/s to get defected for both.
  10. Awesome find, ive wanted to see these for a while, the 1989 r32 ad is so funny (with aliens). R33 gtr ad is impressive though, change the music and that'd be an aweome ad even by todays standards (excpet cant do it here cause cant show driving like that on tv ads now )
  11. the amount of time and money to make it turbo aint worth it, no matter how you do it any cop will know if your car is turbo, any cop game enough to open your bonnet anyway. Either buy a gts-t later on when off p's or forget about it

  13. When my mate put his car in to fit dump pipe they took it off and forgot to put it back on, he didnt notice till i pointed it out and he went back and they fitted it back on. But while it was off he noticed no diff. But there was not hot weather during the time. If the engineers at Nissan saw fit to put in a heat shield then im sure they did so for a reason. If you can pick one up second hand it shouldnt be too expensive, but not a huge issue i wouldnt think..
  14. I would say secure your pod, cause otherwise a cop will defect you for it as has happened to a friend of mine...we couldnt get over it, the cop is like this isnt secured, to which my friend said its plumed into the engine, its not going anywhere. Cop said has to be secured and added it to the defect list. We made up a bracket to go round it and bolted it to the chassis.
  15. Haha, when i was with my mate in his 32 when he got defected thats exactly what they were like. They issued 2 fines, after one cop gave the first fine the other cop says "aaaand whats the bonus you have for him johnny...." then they gave the 2nd fine (he spoke like the guy from price is right... come on down!!!!! I have been pulled over once in my 32, which was stock bar exhaust and pod.. and the cop was like has it got a bov, and i said ofcourse, from the factory. He looked back in puzzlement thinking i was pulling the wool over his eyes...then asked me to pop the bonnet where i pointed it out to him. Then got me to rev to 3,000rpm while he listened at the back, but i had a new turbo back exhaust which is quiet as... then sent me on my way.. And since when are gauges a defect? unless they are incorporated into the a pillar, but it doesnt sound like yours is ODessA. Also duno bout nsw but in vic having a pod and fronut mount together is illegal, u can only have one form or modified induction i think is the basic rule, so duno how you got defected for pod and defected for fr mount, its either one or other, if u remove pod and put standrd air box then its ok to have fr mount....:s
  16. Why are they bad? I bought a very basic pioneer 12" sub in pioneer box for $95 and got a jvc amp for $200 which i also used to amp the rear pioneer 6" 3-ways. The box fit into my 32 boot with sub facing rear seat had to remove the rear wiper control motor thing to get it in though, then put it back on. So it doesnt take up much room and allows for far more sound adjustment than 6 x 9's. If i had gone to the trouble of putting in 6 x 9's i would go the extra bit to get a 10" or 12" sub and amp it and the rears. just my opinion.
  17. if you have a 94 model gtr, why not just take out all the old crap factory stereo equipement and start from scratch with a nice new headunit and some half decent speakers and maybe an amp and sub. Just about all headunits these days play mp3 cd's which can hold the same effective size as about 10 normal cd's which is far better than an old school stacker, in my opinion. But if you are trying to keep the classic look of the dash then thats fair enough, not sure if the 34 headunit will be compatible or not though...
  18. got the 6850, very nice unit, however the system has a very slight buzz nuthin like b4, its barely audible, only really hear it if u turn volum rite down to 1 or 0, ill have to talk to jb :@
  19. I've had my r32 for about a year and not a single issue (touch wood). I changed the exhaust cause the previous owner had put a really shit one on it and i put on a pod filter and did stereo work but all through choice. servicing is basic and noraml prices, only diff is oil between service, but its a turbo.. so that is a must. they are good cars and will serve well if looked after. better than a commodore
  20. Yeah it wont be much more expensive at the shop than from ebay and for peace of mind id rather the shop. The installer guy said sometimes pioneer units out of the factory can have a problem which my current unit seems to, its causeing buzz when the car is running, everything else has been checked, its down to the head unit...hence the need for a new one. So with that in mind warranty is at the forefront of my mind. But I am slowly learning to embrase ebay
  21. Yeah, you dont see Blaupunkt in many shops, i was just thinking that, and im gunna stay away from ebay, some ppl are selling usa headunits so am radio dont work and god knows what else, and where to go if there is a problem, im goin to jb tomorow, ill let you know how i go, hopefully money talks and i can get a nice unit at a decent price..
  22. Appreciate it guys, my only issue with Blaupunkt or Kenwood is that i havent seen a headunit they make in my budget that i like the look of. That mite sound silly, but realistically, i think quality wise around that price not a huge difference and i really like the look of the pioneer 6850 (ref above). Altohough there were some jvc units i mite consider, but they are a bit too flashy i think, also my sub is a 12" pioneer and rears are 6" 3-way pioneer's, but the amp is a jvc, haha. I'd like to keep it to those brands if possible
  23. Thanks for the input guys, think ill get this pioneer DEH-P6850MP. I saw it on ebay for $375, most places are selling it for just over $500 so i'll have to work out where to get it. this one has a motorised face and is all blue instead of part blue and part red compared with the 5850 I originally looked at....
  24. As the topic title suggests, I was wondering what headunits people can recommend with a maximum of $500. I have everything else in my car jsut that my current head unit is creating a buzzing noise when the car is running, had a proffesional diagnose this, it came with car and is that cheap pioneer that plays mp3/wma with bright blue screen, think they were around $200. I was thinking of the pioneer DEH-P5850 which jb can do for $400.. what you guys reckon??
