  1. Its been a few weeks getting the new test car ready and I've spent quite some time diagnosing a boost ceiling issue. For today's test, I've tapped two extra boost sources on both sides of the intercooler piping, and monitored pressure drops on all four points. Surprisingly it is a issue with the actual intercooler it self. Three intercoolers was tested, they were the Takashi (a good Chinese made cooler) in 600x300x68mm, 600x300x100mm, and a Generic ebay cooler in 600x300x76mm. Final result reviews the 600x300x100mm Takashi cooler had the best response, while the Generic ebay cooler made the most power. I will likely be trailing a PWR item of a similar size, hopefully an expansive branded item could solves this issue. Final result was peek of 281rwkws @ 19psi after cooler pressure on Pump 98 fuel. ATR43SS-2 Internally gated ID 1000cc injectors Walbro fuel pump Adaptronic Plug in ECU 3inches turbo back exhaust Tune at Chequrered Tuning. The last sheet shown the same turbocharger working with same type of engine but return flow cooler kited. Notice lag created of having extra piping length. For best result on a Rb25det R34, Get a proper FMIC kit with a big free flow intercooler.
  2. Yes can be done. cost $150 to carry out, I will need the chra and turbine housing for a day.
  3. GTR's BOVs are pretty good, they don't have the bypass whole like the GTSTs does, and seals pretty well. Best way is to a check with a smoke machine or make some plugs and pressurize from the cooler piping.
  4. Eastern Creek video footage from Sxxreco, Unopened Rb25det, using our 21U high flowed turbocharger making a super responsive 310rwkws on E85 fuel:
  5. That is 2.5 inches.
  6. Drive a Turbocharged Korean Car. That feels truly terrifying even with only 200kws wheels.
  7. With high EBC loading, the boost pressure before cooler rises, but what inside inlet manifold doesn't change. Here's some thing fun to watch. Our TD06SL205 turbocharger on a CA18det pulling 307rwkws E85 fuel. Run 11 sec quarter:
  8. Add a vacuum nipple before the cooler and compare boost reading to whats in the inlet manifold. Hopefully yours will match.
  9. I have an unopened engine using factory cams, and factory plenum. Its using a Brae high mount with a 50mm external gate with one of my ATR43G4SAT turbochargers on E85 fuel. This is probably as close as you can get towards factory T25's response while been able to reach the 400awkws goal. For 500awhp / 373awkws, it was reached at 21psi. Power readings corresponding to other boost levels of my car can be found on the RB26 dyno section: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/93880-rb26-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/page-26#entry7529745 Blues: ATR43G4SAT Purple: Factory twin T25s
  10. Little update. The R34's definitely not going as smooth as any of the other cars I've modified. The new car's finally made it self all working today on the dyno. It hits a boost restriction which boost curve went flat at 19psi on 90% ebc duty, how ever the pressure before intercooler is showing a boost curve that kept on clamming all the way up to 24psi. After setting EBC on 100% duty after 4000RPM, and there is still a 4psi pressure drop. Didn't got up to expectations but definitely better then the 9psi drop that I've had with the return flow kit. Its currently using a 600x300x68mm Takashi cooler, I will be upgrading it to 600x300x100mm and hopefully reduces the percentage of pressure drop. I have never experienced similar issues on my R33, S14 or the R33-GTR, but to both of my R34s. That R34 made 425rwkws earlier did not have this issue however, by using a RB26 inlet manifold. I'm unsure if it is related to the actual design of the inlet manifold, if so I might have to make a group of special application turbos just for R34s. Power stays 267rwkws @ 20psi, basically made no differences apart from lag using a much larger turbo. Boost curve before cooler (20psi) and after throttle body (24psi) at 100% EBC duty
  11. Please make sure that braided oil line is used with this turbo. No oil restrictors should be used. All fittings that is connected to the oil line should have a inner diameter of at least 3mms.
  12. Link is below: http://www.hypergearturbos.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=72_76&product_id=67 The results are based on E85 fuel, take 40kws for pump fuel result.
  13. updating some 1JZ results. Those are from 1JZGTE Chasers: This is 292rwkws on 19psi on our TD06SL205 Turbocharger externally gated, P98 fuel, Unopened engine: And this is using a high flowed factory CT15B on E85 fuel making 321rwkws.
  14. Stay road legal and looks standard will limit the numbers. When bored, Externally gate the OP6 high flow and run it on E85. It maxed at 376rwkws.
  15. Since you've got a R34 with a OP6 rear housing, It is a good turbo for high flowing. High flowed turbocharger will bolton to factory setup with no modifications required. There is no need getting all supporting mods unless you are targeting the full potential of the turbocharger. Factory ECU usually works fine upto 10psi of boost. High flowed turbocharger has factory appearance, that is unlikely to have you defected then another turbos. Doing all of those modifications fit an internally gated GT3076 / 71, risking been defected, is not going to get you more then what you can get using one of our high flows. Lastly we only charge $850 to carry it out with oil line supplied, not $2G.
  16. yea this car's the worst out of all, still alot of little stuff to fix, while I've already made the next booking sitting around for 40 mints, next tune is booked 3 weeks away. hopefully all sorted by then.
  17. I guess we can call the new turbo ATR45.5SAT model. I'm keen to see the result. The Yellow R34 No.2 didn't go so well unfortunately, and we had to sort out a bunch of little problems with installation as well as getting the car running properly, there is still issues on ECU communicating with the boost solenoid, we run out time and have to finish off the tune another day. But yes it is very responsive, notice the linear power and torque before 3000RPM: 2ndly, because I'm now using a JJR's normal front mount cooler kit instead of the return flow. Boost shoot easily over 20psi. I'm sure that 90 degrees bend would be cause of the boost tapper on earlier runs. But either way, special application turbo for return flow cooled RB25dets are available.
  18. The SS15 high flow would work extremely well, Will be suited between 200~230rwkws region:
  19. Some updates. This is result of a OP6 high flow that I've done for Unique Auto Sports in NSWs. R33 GTST stock engine with usual bolton supporting mods, PFC, pump 98 fuel. Final result of 278rwkws @ 18psi: And a prototype turbo for Jet_R31. its the biggest possible turbo that we can make that fits into a T3x turbine housing. Hopping to see 600rwkws on his built RB30ET engine.
  20. Here's a reading of our High flowed OP6 turbo doing 278rwkws @ 18psi on pump fuel using bolton supporting mods. Perfect boost control and perfect power curve: Get a blown OP6 or 21U turbo and send that over for high flowing, alternatively we can source one locally for $150 additional. This would be the cheapest option for your to get good power and drive ability. Alternatively you can use our ATR43 bolton series, that starts from $1250.
  21. I usually slot the actuator bracket fitting holes, and that makes the actuator pre-loadable. Usually seeing around 15psi of boost once that is done.
  22. Well, If Blackkers is getting good response using the same turbo then you should too. Just make sure the internal gate is shut and preloaded. and yes 20psi is lovely, baby it till it gets tuned, it should be all good .
  23. If car is sitting on 1st gear then do expect 20psi over 5000RPM, I would advise of a clutch change and have the car fully tuned before trouble shooting take places, then preload the actuator through actuator bracket if needs to be.
  24. they are like a rb40det with twin vct cams. Makes 500rwkws full boost by 3800rpm. Try v8 ls1 next, the one I sponsor made 650rwkws on 12psi full boost by 3500rpm. Bigger engines are alway better
  25. Yes and tick on the RB25det bolton internally gated assembly. Cheers
