anyone who likes hot stuff, try and get a hold of some 'turbo supercharge' from the chilli factory (i think thats what its called). kinda hard to come by but damn, easily the hottest thing i've ever eatin.
-
emissions i believe. those pics of the prototype have been around for a while (a year or two i think) and yeah its not happeneing, they will have the Lexus LF-A though, which i think is its flagship sports car, but should have alot of luxury aswell. should be on the hung for some upper class cars like the M3, porkas, and even astons... very nice lookin prototype though

dog is famous (kinda) hes got his show on FOX8, dog the bounty hunter. lol i actually watch it as for the motor, 108,000HP at 102rpm, how do they measure that? must be one awesome dyno
-
repost but still a VERY big motor. really needs a turbo or two though
-
yeah i believe some official people (members or parliament or some sh*t) are trying to have it shut down cause its a bad influence or whatever. great idea posting it up here. my names down on it!

i cant see a pic... damn i wanna see. how/what made it explode?

i would probly just use fibreglass guards/FRP. lighter, not as strong as alloy (might crack/shatter rather than bend) but if something is going to hit the front guard, whether it be alloy or plastic/glass, it doesnt take much to damage a guard beyond repair. come to think of it, whats cheapest, im guessing the glass, thats why i'd choose it too. cant be 100% sure of those facts, but thats my understanding. hope i havent confused you more lol

Banning Performance Cars From P Platers = More Deaths
VB- replied to scathing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
yeh i kinda agree with you here. im nearly 18 now, and leanred to drive in a variety of cars (daewoo lanos, suzuki jimny, EA falcon, VR commy, and now my own VL NA 5 speed), most with did have power steering, which doesnt mean much anyway, but no ABS, shit brakes, and most didnt have insurance either (you leanr not to stack real quick) so i'm learning to look at everything, drive slow etc, just generally being very cautious, without being too cautious that im going to cause more accidents. i see how dangerous things are, how much i lack ability, and i cant wait to go do some advanced driving courses, hopefully within a fortnight of getting my Ps. i've come to realise now why my parents were always on at me so severly about staying back so much from other cars and braking early. when i would be with friends, and i think they would be a safe distance, but then i was told to stay much further back when driving with parents, and i kinda appreciate being made to do so. this is a stark contrast to a mate of mine, whose first car was a 34 GTt, so he has no problem in the world brakin late etc, but he doesnt realise that not every other car can brake like him, and me tellin him doesnt seem to change that. now im just counting the days till some bogan in a VH commodore is tailgating him in the wet, hes gonna do who he normally does, brake late and hard, and get slammed fair up his arse lol. but the thing is, its no one thing that causes accidents, its a combination too many things, like driving experience, knowing the roads, weather, physical state (drugs/alcohol/tired/sick), sheer luck, and the biggest of all, common sense (severely lacking in many a ppl) -
the green one built by rajab/bresciani? im sure it was one of those if its the same car, just cant remeber which workshop in particular

one of the girls that died im pretty sure went to my school (dandy high). somebody said she did, and just readin the names sounds kinda familiar.... sad to see this happen fair enough, everyone on here have an adverse reaction to hearing about illeagle activity on the street (cause of things like this), but everyone does it, probly 95%+ of the people on here have done stupid things on the street, its a reality, but damn why do it with 6 people in the car, in a residential area (guessing its residential, they ploughed through a fence). 6 people in a 300, i reckon maybe 2 people had seatbelts on.... i get a feeling the car may have given the driver a bit too much confidence? RIP

-
when i called up just cars, i got quoted 1900 for a VL, which i had bought for 1600.... but yeh, when i did the online quote i got exactly what the person on the phone told me

Fyi: Just Cars Insurance Renewal And Agreed Value
VB- replied to sl33py's topic in General Automotive Discussion
nope, worked for me too, only problem was i was too young to go with them anyway... -
rather than starting another thread, i'll just hi-jack this one on the topic of porting heads on NA engines, i got to thinking, i was reading the other day about volumetric efficiency and it was basically that a 100% effecient engine could only draw in its own capacity worth of air. e.g. an RB30 could only suck in 3 liters of air. this article also said that most engine these days are very effiecent, like well into the 90% region. now heres my question, if they are so effiecent, how does porting heads help? if it already fills the cylender to 90 something percent, and you port it, will that increase of a couple of percent in efficiency make a big diference to power output?

This Is Why You Keep It To The Track
VB- replied to Phantom32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
agreed, i thought the bus driver did damn well considering the situation -
lol yeah i saw that one a while ago, i seriously doubt its real, but still a good video

its ok, the problems fixed itself. next query, where would i be lookin for numbers to ID the gearbox? it feels very very smooth, and i havent driven any other manual VLs, but in some cases it even feels smoother than a friends R34... so im thinkin it may have been swapped at some point, possibly to a skyline box. its unlikely, and it may just have been well maintained, but it cant hurt to check. last question for now, whats the easiest way to see what clutch/what condition clutch is in, not just by feel, as my experience with different clutches is quite limited. its feels slightly heavy, nothin like a twin plate, but still a bit heavier than the other cars i've driven (again havent driven any other VLs, so might be normal) and it also needs to be pressed right up against the firewall, or very close to it, to fully dissengage the clutch, which i thought were signs of an aftermarket/heavy duty clutch thanks for the help guys, Ben
-
ok thanks for that. how should i check if its getting power at the solenoid, i dont have a DMM. im sure i can find a spare globe lying around, wil this do or is there too much current to use a globe?

wasnt the torana meant to be efficient on fuel cause of the fuel crisis or whatever of the 70's? same with the little mazdas, wasnt the whole world movin in that direction during that era? cant say anythin about the commodores/skylines, they just suck when it comes to economy, literally...

agreed, needs under bonnet pics

well, this is my second attempt as what i tried to post the first time just f*cked up and i lost it all, so here goes.... i just bought a VL the other day, and its all good, except it has a few minor issues, most of which were fixed by a good clean. now when i cleaned it and it came up a treat, but there were still a few minor htings, mostly interior plastics broken etc. the one thing i did try to fix was the boot release. it normally sits in a little round retainer thingy...(yes, thats the technical term) and it was just hanging there, and i tried to put it back in, but when i did the switch just popped apart. so i left it sittin there for a minute, tryin to see how the switch worked, and i realised that in its current popped apart state, the positive and negative were linked, thus explaining why the wires were gettin quite warm. now i worked this out, pulled the wires out, put it all back together, and thats ok, except now it doesnt work. i pulled the wires out again and just touched them together instead of using the switch, still got nothing, the boot wont pop. first questions, what have i fried? now when u get an electrical problem, check fuses first, but i dont know which fuse to check, or if there even is one for this. so my second question, where is the fuse if there is one? on the path to discovering i have no idea which fuse i was looking for, the first place i went for was the drivers side, near the kick panel, where fuses always are. i pulled the cover off, and i saw that the back of the panel had the little diagram, tellin u what is what, and i couldnt see anything on there, so i was just gonna start pullin fuses to check if any were blown, but to my surprise, when i went to look inside, there was no fuses. no board, no fuses, nothin, just bits of the wiring loom. so, third question, is there meant to be a board of fuses in there? regarding the fuses, there is still the black box under the bonnet, but i dunno if ever fuse is accounted for in there. cheers, Ben

so then people shouldnt put 13B's in mazda 1300's, 350 chevs in LJ toranas, and RB26's VL's/R31's/GTSt skylines....

yes the ferrari could have launched better, but maybe the smart car could have too. whatever conditions effect one car, effect the other (except driver). maybe the track condition wasnt good so they both were runnin slow. either way, price would be alot less on the smart, theres still a massive cool factor too (altho not as much as a ferrari), imagine pulling up at the lights, and havin ur ass handed to you by one of those.... thats got to be the ultimate shame just saw the numbers, and the old gen smartuki could run a 12.4... i think it could keep up with the ferrari if they both get a good launch
