  1. i think merli has some ?...
  2. does psi presurre really make that much difference? has anyone got a comparison say standard street psi 35~ run compared to a lower 20~psi run?
  3. Hey George, still no luck...? Told you mate, Series 3 is the way to go . By the way, did my mate Adam call you about the GTR's??
  4. not sure if I understand this right "technically speaking" But on first reading I thought you may a tramlining issue, but 7.5in wide isn't that wide really. I had 265 all round on my GTR, and on some roads eg: nepean hwy, I had to drive with both hands locked on the wheel, coz I'd also get that snap left or right depending on the road, but now I have 255's all round and all is sweet so far. Only thing I can think of, is perhaps that kerb you hit has done something... I dunno, sorry!
  5. Bam-ba-Lam ... I feel like Elvis now, my knees are shaking that much, any more and I might break into a rap. Adrian & Buster Douglas it "comes across" that you guys truely do have an insecurity about something, and my question was far from a sarcastic or smart ass one... I apoligise to you 2rismo if you read it like that. I GIVE UP! THE END...back to the thread. [Anymore slaps on my head and I'm sure to knock myself out, so no more slaps. Instead I'm gonna slap you, you slap buster, and the ambulance driver slaps it into drive]
  6. Don't be sorry adrian, my mistake I should have remembered I was asking an 11year old. You're an idiot! Dont gimme this crap you didn't understand which car I was talkin about, yet you knew which time to post for your qtr. (again I slap myself on the head as I fall back off the chair and hit the floor rolling in laughter. Damn twice today, and says to myself Buster & 2rismo must wagged shool today)
  7. 2rismo, not up to date on your car but surely you've spent some big dollars to get it where it is.. Roughly how much, and what's your best time?
  8. Then tell us, what differences did you find between them both.
  9. Merli, Didn't you own a GTST before the GTR? Bman, back on the topic, personally a) if it's for drag only I would think a GTST would be better value for Money. I also thought at one stage the quickest qtr for a skyline was a gtst with a 2.5 not an RB26 with a time of low 10's (stand to be corrected) B) If it were for track.. well I dunno coz I'm not a track person but guessing, I would go an R32 (i know it's not in your statement) however I do think that people looking for a GTST that can't budget for a R33GTR tend to swing between a R32GTR & a R33 GTST. So I'd sat R32 GTR. c) I think the genral consensus is if someone has 45K to spend on a skyline they would opt for an R33 GTR around the mid to high 30's, and plan for some basic mods, that realistically could see you in the low 12's for an everyday driver. Like Jamezilla, an R will always be an R... but each to his own I guess.
  10. I'd like to C that first learn to read, before your fingers turn into swords - Warrior! EDIT: Thanks ferni, but buster, it's called a sense of humor do'h with some truth to your statement! {Slaps myself on the forehead and falls back off the chair, in laughter}
  11. BU5TER, If wanted a challenge why didn't you buy a LADA as I think if you offered jamezilla the right $$ he would consider selling, and try to get that into the 11's?? Now I think that would be a challenge. Personally, no offence intended, but I think, like most people, you have a budget and a need eg: turbo sports coupe with potential for more Hp, and driveable day to day.
  12. If I can also add, i think INASNT's car "GST-T" makes around 320kw at the rears, perhaps ask him how much he's spent, his animal will tear most GTR's (except mine ) apart... May be a good idea to check out this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=40896 It makes for a good read & real world comparison about the dollars spent on a car. You'll soon realise that some peole have spent some big dollars on mods etc, in some case's at least 100-200% of what they paid for the car.
  13. this car is also for sale through prestigemotorsport.com, landed price is $27K
  14. where's BUSTER when you need him. When I buy a car do I buy the XR6, or the GT-P, Standard WRX or the STi?? Horse for course's...I say. I predict this thread is going to get violent.
  15. Snowman, can answer your question NSX vs GTR, as he has owned both. If I recall correctly, the NSX doesn't come close to his GTR... but I think that had something to do with it being auto... But Snowy's moved up since then and learnt how to drive a manual Seriously, he'd be the best to answer it.
  16. Joel - I had 265's on my Stock GTR Wheels, and now have 255's. So the answer to your Q's is yes, no problem.
  17. Oooh BUSTER, you gotta take a chill pill a relax a little, you don't know me at all and I am far from a Hero GTR owner, with a big ego. My point is "quite clear" out of the factory GTR's are a High 12-low 13 car, how many cars "out of the factory" can do that, even modified some cars have to spend big $$ to do that. And I don't race anyboy racers, infact I don't go out looking for races either, but if you want a race I have a friend with an XF Falcon, it got the old 250Xflow 6cyclinder, carby (not EFI), using Taxi GAS, that will give you a 2-3second head start, while his watching some DVD's, getting a massage from his Vibrating seats , and still blow you all on street tyres... But That's not the point I am making.
  18. Hi Rianto, No need, unless your talking about the CSL, and that will still get eaten by any GTR. A friend of mine had the 2003 M3 SMG2, our GTR at the time was fairly stock, bleed valve set @ 1Bar, HKS Pods & Cat back exhausts. I ran him and blew him by an easy car and halfs length by the time I was out of first gear, and kept on pulling away. I believe the CSL is slightly quicker but still around the flat 5'sec 0-100. My bro and I have lined up both the GTR & E55 a number of times, and regardless of the mods we've done to the GTR it always beats the benz off the line, then head to head with the benz pulling it in slowly. The only difference we've found is rolling starts, the benz with it's V8 Supercharged 710Newtons really does pull hard at any speed, and slowly leaves the GTR behind. The last offical rolling start was when the GTR had 270rwkw, and only then was it "slowly" pulling away from 60kmh rolling starts. Even with 270kw at the rears, any rolling start above 90-100kmh the benz is right up the bum of the GTR. But I think the point is quite clear, "pretty much" regardless of who's going to run you in a GTR, 1) You'll either win... or 2) keep up and not be blown away "unless it's nigel's Supra or Leewah's GTR";)
  19. Congrats, it's always fun getting a new car, and you tend to clock up a 1000k's in first first 2-3days, and driving to places you'd never drive to before. Where'd you buy it from, any mods?
  20. I personally think there's not much out there, that will beat/destroy a GTR in stock form. Either way a GTR will beat or at least keep up. Have you seen the Best Motoring drag compbat, with an R34 vs 996 Twin Turbo, the GTR get's him off the line but as soon as the 996 hits second/third he starts to catch an slowly leave the GTR
  21. Tyrepower Sunshine - ask for "OLI", tell him simon with the GTR ref you.
  22. Just want to say on behalf me & my bro inlaw, a big thanks to the snowman it was a great fun night. To Snowy, DJ, Ben & R31 you are really some nice guys and hope we can organise another one this time for the SAU boys. A couple of things I noticed about tonight, Snowman is a real hustler pretending he "was" trying his best... Ash & Nathan, you guys were awesome showing off your rear wheel drive skills applying pressure on the GTR drivers, and as for that bloke what's his face.... aaah yeh! Ben, all I can say is you win some & you lose some, but did you have to win everything!!!! I thought a yellow meant slooooooow down, why was it that your car was the only one with Laaaaaaunch Control??? or is that a GTR driver's tactic. Then you go and aniliate the lap record for the day.. not fair . As for me... at least us fat blokes weighing 100kg having some advantages I think it's called traction, something Ash & Nathan wouldn't know about.
  23. It was a real GTR, I meant the car had been to hell and back.
  24. ..You need to ask yourself so so so many questions but generally speaking... How much do I want to spend? How many K's do want to get out the tyres? Do I want a flat out performance tyre? Do I want it soley for it's Wet weather conditions or dry conditions, or both? I just went down this path last week, I spent a good week or two aking some calls, speaking to guys on the forum etc etc.. I wanted a performance tyre for my GTR that was realisticlly priced "unlike Michelin Xpilot 2", had some of the BEST grip in both wet and dry, and could hold my power to the ground. In the end it came down to 3 tyres: Falken ST215 "Semi Comps" Best grip in dry, useless in wet. But as I was told with Semi Comps, you need to warm the up properly before you can take real advantage on the street. Falken ST115 - Had these before on a WRX, and I felt they were too hard a compund regardless of the Falken statement of being undeatable in the Wet, and they didn't grip under hard concerning. Bridgstone S03 - Did not hear 1 bad comment about these from anyone I spoke to. And now I know why. I chose these as I ended up paying nearly the price as the ST115 falkens. $310, retail I got quotes up to $420 per tyre in a 17 255 40. So far I've done about 400k's in the dry just wearing them in, no wet days so far. And they feel better than my old Michelin Xpilots & they were the best tyre I have every used... hang second best, on our other car I have Continental Contact Sport 2, but I only get about 8000km's out of these on a rear wheel drive car.
