The sad thing is, when I first saw the shots of the Mustang Concept at Detroit, I phoned Ford AU to see whether I could place an order. The guy I spoke to said, we wont be bringing the Mustang in, based on the recent sales slump & lack of interest in the current model.... dooooh! I wondered how can anyone with half a brain compare the current "left hand drive converted to right hand, available in manual only" to this new model??? Makes you realise how slow the ford mobs are, after years & decades they finally bring back the GT Falcon, then they bring a real muscle machine the XR6Turbo... at this rate by the time they finish pulling themselves we should see the mustang in AU by 2020... Makes me think that Carlos Ghosn could be running ford?? All I can say is.... Take a lesson from Holden & HSV....

Yes, it's akward & fiddley, but that's where you should find that "steel clip". You wont need to remove any bolts.

Good News, he was the cheapest I found, and not many stocked the boot lock. Bolts?? My car has gone to heaven , and isn't with me to check... I dont remember any bolts.. I think your looking at the actual boot release mechanism. You dont need to touch that. 1. Pop the boot 2. stick your head under and directly behind the key lock you will see dark grey/black steel clip. This is all that holds the whole key lock in place. 3. Once you've found it, you need to jiggle it out. Once out, the lock should just come off the boot panel. 4. Then it gets a bit fiddley from here on, The lock has a clip at the end that holds the barrel in, get it off. 5. Where you normally insert your key, should be a black plastic thing around the key hole, get this off using a thin screwdriver. If you look on the reverse side of that black plastic I think you'll see 4 clip in bits, you need to pop these out, or try doing it from the key hole sie. 6. Once you've done this, the barrel is ready to come out, but you have to press the steel things in the berrel down as these will stop the key barrel from coming out of the lock. but.... the swing thing that had the nissan emblem on it also gets in the way of the barrel, I just used a little elbow muscle & it was fine. .... Then do the opposit to install the key barrell in the new lock. Just make sure that you lock that steel grey/black clip in tight & correctly. Hope that helps, but if you need help installing it, just let me know.

The Series 3 GTR's come standard with BiXenons..

if you need a hand, let me know... takes 10mins. If you pop the boot look behind the key lock and you first need to remove that black thin "Y" steel thing that hold the barrel in place. Once you get that off you can slide the whole unit out from the boot. The hardest part I found was swapping the barrels, coz that bit that swings get in the way...but nothing major. Best to start practising taking the barrel out of the stuffed lock, don't stress the barrell is all once piece.

hi ferni, Bad news... some prick badged mine & yes you have to replace the whole unit. The units are identical to those from the standard skyline coupes. I got mine from Mark Gibbs Panel House in QLD for $45 + delivery Tel: 07 3808 8737 I replaced the barrel myself, real easy and I am crap when it comes to working with my hands... *cough* though the ladies never complain *cough* I take it this is the part your talking about??
