  1. Geez, sounds like a pretty shit situation... Good luck if it does end up in small claims mate. Doesnt sound like youll need it though with the obvious evidence (in tact air filter and AFM mesh) on your side
  2. Any sensor needed for the boost gauge? Or is it mechanical?
  3. Does your 33 have any non factory adjustable suspension arms? Because your camber and castor are greatly different between your left and right wheels, but you cant adjust these settings with the factory components. They have adjusted toe like they should (stock toe rods can be adjusted), but yeah... Has your car been in a front end accident at any point? Seems weird the settings would be out by so much?
  4. I had a 2530 in my 180, and I was very impressed with the response on an SR, amount of lag seemed very acceptable. Can only imagine it being even better on an RB
  5. Gah it looks like the V35 had an abortion... An ugly one...
  6. Definitely havent cut the wire to the ECU, the wire for the gauge was spliced to it. I cut the wire going to the gauge this morning so it is no longer connected and viola, problem solved!! Bit weird nonetheless?
  7. Anyone else with any thoughts as to what might be causing the problem? What would typically cause an engine to drop rpm initially when the accelerator is pressed?
  8. Yeah thats a possibility, might give that a go... Do already have a separate temp sensor that you put inline on a radiator hose, but decided Id try the simpler way of using the factory signal and seeing if that works... And yeah I realise you have a stock one, but its really quite useless. It doesnt show you any actual numbers, and it stays in the one spot regardless of actual temp fluctuations - by the time youve seen a change, youve already done damage to the engine basically
  9. Hey Weird problem... My R33 has started misfiring after I installed a water temp gauge in it a couple of hours ago... And not your typical on load 5000rpm misfire either. Basically its idling high (around 1400rpm or thereabouts) and when you tap the accelerator, instead of the revs rising they drop first (say down to around 1000rpm) and *then* will rise. Took it for a quick drive and feels sluggish and misfiring when depressing the accelerator at low rpm (under approx 2500rpm) and at low throttle (under 20% shown on AVCR) At higher rpm (around 3k and over) and with more throttle, the car drives fine like it should, makes boost, pulls well etc. Not sure why this is happening? Drove fine before water temp gauge install, not driving fine now... Any ideas as to what could have done this? (ps. Getting the water temp signal from the factory wire going to the ECU. Didnt cut the wire, just stripped it back and joined the gauges sensor wire to it)
  10. Basically theres a few classes (based on whether it is street trim cars or race trim cars, and driveline ie FWD RWD or 4WD), which determine who you compete against. From what I understand the main rules are that the tyres must be street legal (ie R compound semi slicks typically, no full slicks allowed), and i *think* the mounting points of the suspension must remain factory (ie no onboard dampers or whatever) Dont think tube frame chassis or anything like that are allowed either. Engine wise (in terms of HP restrictions etc), I think its basically unlimited, and its more the design of the track that keeps a lid on things (ie its quite tight and technical, so endless HP isnt the answer because the track is this way and the lack of traction without full slicks being used) Correct me if Im wrong but Im pretty sure thats the gist of it
  11. Dont buy the bag for the helmet If you are nice about it and ask for one, you'll likely pick one up (especially if youre buying an expensive helmet) for free Otherwise sounds fairly comprehensive. I genuinely believe that the helmet that will protect you best is largely the one that fits you best... So sounds like you are well on your way to a good choice
  12. That is f**king wicked. I want!!
  13. 'Bored' of RB20? /end lameness
  14. Piss take for sure Still lol-worthy
  15. Dont worry about ignition coils till you start having yours missfire
  16. Lol @ thread
  17. Wow!! That looks awesome!! Very nice
  18. This threads a cack Should have some... 'interesting' supporters!! All the best guys, can not wait to see how you go over there!! Good luck!!
  19. Think they usually need to be 1kg ones? For sprints/hillclimbs etc that is
  20. To be honest, I think it looks brilliant. And moreso, I think it will look absolutely incredible in real life. Personally, I havent bought much into the hype until recently, and I really think its exceeded my expectations...
  21. *fapfapfapfapfap* f**king wicked
  22. Ahh cheers for that mate, might give the penrite stuff a go at some stage pending how the 5.1 handles the trackwork Thanks!!
  23. Thanks for that Think I might remove them just for the sake of it - even a small improvement will be worth it if its free Not going to go with RBF600 though, for double the price of 5.1 I dont think it'd be worth it to be honest. I think 5.1 should be fine but if it ends up struggling at all at the track I can always use RBF600 next time And yeah, will be bringing plenty of food/water along. Been to a couple of track days (just havent driven yet), so have seen what conditions are like etc.
  24. Very nice!! Looks mint with the tinted visor!!
