  1. I rang GCG, he said he wouldn't even have a flow rate to give me to tell me what is correct, also garrett supply no flow rate, just say try not to have over 40 psi of pressure. I think it will be fine hey.
  2. Another engine builder down here in SA when he built a customer a 25/30 said the same thing, the rear head oil drain addition is a waste of time and time should be spent on the factory system exactly as dirt is saying.
  3. need -5 for 340 at that lower boost.
  4. thank you, i have found on the ORC site a PDF with all the nissan numbers with there respective measurements! Also i went to a reputable clutch place here and bought a small throw out bearing as you described its very thin. I just ordered a new push slave cylinder to suit the new g box and ill dummy it up and take some measurements and see where im at, but it looks good to go atm. Thanks
  5. Just hard for me to check now as my gearbox is also off(clutch and box change), along with my harmonic balancer (changing to ATI) so i have to do them first, then start then put turbos back on, which i could do if i really wanted.
  6. I bought some -5 turbos for my GTR and I went to buy a few parts to fit it from ATS down here in Adelaide. He said that I should run the car with turbos off for 15 seconds, measuring the oil flow out of the lines, im pretty sure he said 400 ml for the 15 seconds, but i would have to check that might have been for a full minute, anyway. I have heard of doing this, but do i really need t? Garrett say that ball bearing turbos use less oil then there journal bearing brothers, and mine were working fine before, so should it work fine now. The reason for checking is he said he usually enlarges the restrictor holes in the banjo that goes into the block as there is a lack of oil supply standard. I then rang GCG turbos for a quit question, the guy said that he doesn't even have a oil flow figure to give me, he said they just make sure the lines are clean, and even preferably new. Are you people running the stock system with no issues? Thanks

Im going to say it and i dont care if it gets taken down or what ever. That dude is shit, plain and simple. He done my GTR, had some rust where the rear right mudflap screws to the body. I told him i wanted it cut out and sprayed as i will keep the car for a while, and i had to go through regency (for an unrelated defect but i dont want dodgy shit) I got it back and was just full of fiber fill, topped off with bog and painted. I confronted him about it and he didnt want to have a bar of it and said i told him to fiber fill it, haha ok what ever. I ended up going to extensive restorations at lonsdale, they cut the inner and outer skin out and made new ones and welded it in, much better. Cost the same amount as bringing to BOGmetics too. If you want someone skilled in the art of bog sculpting go to car cosmetics, i think its all he knows.
  8. do the leak test, idle high needs air, air has to be coming from somewhere.
  9. what meth pumps you running, mechanical?
  10. If you are extremely neg on the sr20 i am interested. But stuffed oil pump means stuffed everything pretty much.
  11. Depends on the application, for my gtr it was a good think to set base pressure higher then standard as the nismo air flow meters put out such a low voltage at idle it was hard to get enough fuel into the engine at idle, we upped the pressure and altered the voltage scaling on the power fc and was able to get it right, with out it would be quite difficult.
  12. Hey would this be the same for a blitz (i think they made by ORC) twin plate, im having difficulty finding info about it.
  13. What is the reason for ACL bearing hate? I have used in a few motors with out issue my self.
  14. I wouldn't do it for the simple fact that is costs a lot of money and still uses cast pistons, which generally is one of the first parts to fail.
  15. need to know exactly what is being done to know if it is good or bad price.
  16. thats the waste gate pipe i recon
  17. good work on the pictures, it is a fun job i have done turbos before and about to put the -5 turbos on my gtr, along with a new gearbox lucky i just cleared my hoist for some room.
  18. why not run the twin wastegates like i have seen them do?
  19. Hey, i bought a few GTR boxes (push) and some sr boxes, thanks to the importers they gave me a heap od forks and carriers that "should fit" haha, its ok as they were cheap. Anyway, does anyone have heights of the GTR carriers so i can identify the right one, or can i use anyone with the correct height bearing? I'm converting my GTR from an extreme twin plate pull clutch to a push gearbox with a nice sprung center Blitz clutch, does anyone know the dimensions of the bearing i am meant to use with this? Thank you
  20. do you need vacuum and boost, then tee off at the fuel reg.
  21. Dirt, do you do this to street and track blocks? Im thinking of doing it to my street 26 to stop that semi common crack happening.
  22. Same question as above! i dont think he meant 9/10 th though.
  23. What are the seat pressures of the HKS springs? I bought some for a SR20 and they were absolute garbage.
  24. IMO revs are the second worst thing for a motor, well probably third behind poor tuning and poor engine building. Work out your piston speed and go from there. 8000 is all i would rev a street RB26 to, of course some people will rev more but 8000 will see you enough fines!
