  1. Yup still WTF, I could spin my 275 ku36s with 160rwkw in the wet
  2. Even in the wet??? WTF
  3. lol there are different types of ceramics
  4. Just found these magnaflow ones, bit cheaper: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MAGNAFLOW-3-INCH-HI...=item53e0245ba2
  5. Incorrect: http://www.catco.com.au/mainFrameset.htm CATCO METALcats are ADR approved AND meet EPA requirements
  6. Yup stuff the ceramic. I bit the bullet and bought this metal cat: http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?p...cat=&page=1 It has served me well and dynos between cat and no cat were within 5-10kw.
  7. Why not just get a factory rebuild? It will laugh at 270rwkw, cost you heaps less and is a known package.
  8. Post #11 says he got it wrong and its really a GT35/40. A GT35 starting to boost at 3000rpm on a 3L bottom end doesnt sound that hard to believe.
  9. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yup good one, well how come everyone elses GT3076s are so laggy in comparison then? Also, could you please explain why the tuner would stop tuning at 6,000rpm? Surely something as good as a 'fkn garrett' could perform all the way till 7,000rpm?
  10. Doesnt explain the unbelievable response, 3rd gear would have less response.
  11. Heaps of threads on this do a search. Those injectors will fit but will require wiring mods
  12. Just Cars Insurance was my only option for my R34 GTT. RACV only allow 2 modifications previously, so I didnt even bother calling them.
  13. I remember seeing your dyno sheet, there are some serious inconsistencies with your speed axis. The dyno shows it coming on boost way before any 3076 on this forum also the dyno stops at a speed that when you transfer to rpm comes out at 6,000rpm. I highly doubt the tuner stopped tuning at 6,000rpm. Dont believe everything you see on a dynosheet.
  14. I think it looks alright, there are lots of way worse convertibles out there. Sure its not something I want but dont think its quite that bad. But yes the old one is porn!
  15. Hmmm yeah sort of. I know my policy states me as the only 'frequent driver'. Sure you may ask how would they prove you are a frequent driver or not, insurance companies have lots of tricks and ways to get out of paying. Especially if its pretty obvious the son owns it and its just insured in the fathers name to save on insurance.
  16. Yup but what if you the other person isnt cooperating, surely you could just say they wouldnt tell you and you think they dont have insurance.
  17. Its at least a 350rpm gain in response when I look at it. As said the hp gain is a lot more in the mid range. Agree about headwork required to get the most out of the extra capacity. To me the only really negative to a skyline is the lack of low down torque when still demanding good top end power. This is getting closer to having the best of both worlds and a worthy quest in my opinion.
  18. Yup of course, Page 61 of this thread for details and pics
  19. Yawn, more turbo options for people with different budgets can only be a good thing. I will go call Garrett and see if they can make me a turbo that uses the standard compressor cover makes 280rwkw on 15.8psi and bolts straight up to my standard piping for just over $1k. If your happy with your turbo enjoy it otherwise it just looks like you are upset with your choice.
  20. I had a boost leak, it was impossible to hear or feel my boost leak. Even on the dyno with me poking my head around there is just too much other noise. Only difference was more lag and the turbo was working its arse off to make the normal amount of boost and therefore the efficiency was down so the top end was down too. But nothing that would jump out and say boost leak. Yours is very laggy for a 0.63 rear, so there is definitely some issue there. When I had an intake restriction it didnt change the lag, just the top of the graph was very flat similar to how yours is. I think yours has a combination of problems. Have to remember this is a completely new setup and almost always requires some troubleshooting. The pain is that you have to get a tune for the large injectors so you really want to use the dyno time effectively. Keep your head up and dont blame the turbo yet. Only thing worse would be to go out and spend 3k on a garrett turbo kit and then have the same issues.
  21. Great post, but it was suggested that you could pay your excess for your 3rd party cover and then they would chase it up. Therefore, they would get the excess dollars. What I dont get is how are you supposed to know if the other driver is actually covered by insurance or not?? What if you raise it with your insurance company saying that he doesnt have insurance and then they find out he does, you can just say oops sorry. That way you know for sure and pushing with letters of demand should see him lodge it with his insurance company.
  22. I think you mean exhaust housing. There are two different standard exhaust housings the R33 one and the OP6 one on the R34. Pretty sure its smaller than 0.63. Mine has a larger 0.82 rear but with a standard compressor cover on the front. I do think this is all answered in the Hypergear thread.
  23. Do you mean 450-500 engine hp? So 280-300rwkw? First of all, I would be wary what profile people think they have as a G2 profile wont make over 270-280rwkw. Most people have the G3 profile which is similar to a 3076 in size so can make 280-310rwkw. I have a G3 profile but in a standard compressor housing and am very happy.
  24. I am confused with this statement. 4adrmn is saying that the other driver is not covered by any insurance as the car is only insured in his fathers name. Therefore he should qualify for his insurance company chasing the other party. There was also another post in this thread from someone with 3rd party insurance who paid an excess and then had the insurance company chase up the other driver. I would try the uninsured thing with the insurance company first, and then if no good see if you can pay an excess and get them to chase up the other guy. Keen to hear the results as I have always been intrigued by 3rd party insurance.
  25. I am surprised the car even runs with large injectors on stock ecu without tuning?? Is it coughing lots of black smoke?
