  1. You sure have a chip on your shoulder about young males... Check out the actual statistics: http://www.tacsafety.com.au/jsp/statistics...D=1&navID=1 Seems like a pretty even spread between ages to me. Dont believe everything this "police force" tells you. Boy this speed crackdown is really having a huge effect on the road toll, Up until sep 15 we are up 14 deaths since the same portion of the year in 2009. When will they get the idea that there solution is not working. You cannot simplify a complex task such as driving with just speed.
  2. +1 Great Post
  3. Yup but what if its running an extra 6psi in the midrange? I suppose even the speed that it can boost at is a big improvement. Not trying to diss the results at all, I think they are great. I just think more investigation is required before understanding what caused the improvement.
  4. How can you come to the conclusion of what made the difference when a few things were changed? Note the trim size, is a 3076 52 trim turbo bigger than a 3071 56 trim turbo?
  5. I was thinking the same thing hahaha
  6. Cool, yeah I was scratching my head but didnt have the knowledge to go against the president haha So it seems a big waste to go to all the effort of twin scroll on an RB20/25 when an RB26 with twin turbos already has everything done from the factory. So is this the major reason that twin turbos on an RB26 will have more low down power/torque then the equivalent sized single turbo conversion?
  7. How about the bosch 040 and 044 fuel pumps, when do they normally run out of puff?
  8. Whats the difference between twin turbo and a twin scroll single turbo performance wise on a 6 cylinder engine?
  9. Legend thanks! So you are staying with the airbox? I read a big thread from Status about up at these power levels the pod filter is far superior than the airbox. It depends if your intercooler is obvious. If it is then yeah it will give you too much police hassles.
  10. Yup thats what I was going to say, talk to mercury motorsport. I believe they use nos to reduce the lag, plus a fully designed setup with lots of experience in big power cars.
  11. I thought the consensus from discopotato was that the twin scroll didnt have a big effect on 6 cylinder engines, more 4 cylinders. The 6 boost manifold is probably a bit separate as it would help all of the turbos we are discussing. If you plot your current turbo against the 3076 you have more area under the curve.
  12. Looks unreal! Congratulations What turbo is that? Did you take the 42R?
  13. Stao, does that mean my JJR 1 piece dump/front pipe wont fit up to my hiflow with 0.82 exhaust housing without modification?
  14. Oh wow did you ever get it strapped down on a dyno later on? When you say customised GT30, you mean its a ball bearing GT30 wheel and you customised it?
  15. Thanks Trent. Catherine is booking me in for a tune in October with you
  16. Ah cool, so your going the hypergear as well. Were the intake mods required just because of the MAP sensor? I will be using nistune and a Z32 AFM so I assume those mods dont apply to me. I was just going to run the metal pipe inside the standard rubber intake, then the Z32 AFM and a HKS Power intake pod. My cooler is very stealth and hard to spot, so my plan when I get pulled over is "I just have a pod filter sir".
  17. Long story, I had paid a deposit and ended up postponing the sale. Stao is a legend, very good to deal with. I havent decided yet. I am a bit of a power whore, I want my car to feel quick and am happy to loose some traction in lower gears. Stao took me for a spin in the ATR43G3 last week and I was very impressed with that. So at this stage I am leaning towards a hi flow with that and obviously 0.82 exhaust housing. I judge a car by the biggest smile it puts on my face and if the other car has beaten me cause of traction, thats ok The HKS 2835 Pro S was more just researching all options.
  18. This is the cheapest one I can find: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT $3800 I am getting a hypergear hiflow made up instead, cant wait.
  19. Cool I thought there were quite a few different things. Its definitely my favourite turbo for the RB25.
  20. Have purchased one off a member on this forum, just awating delivery.
  21. Is the exhaust housing the the only difference between the HKS 2835 pro s and the Garrett 3071?
  22. Only issue with that last dyno plot tao is the power falls over after 5,600rpm. I wonder how far it would fall if you kept going till 7,000rpm? But yes its quite responsive, very impressive. Hard to have everything I suppose.
  23. So the turbo above doesnt even meet your requirement of 200rwkw @ 4000rpm but your saying a larger turbo (56T) will? Surely with the number of them out there a real life example would be available if it was such an easy thing.
  24. I agree, I cant see any 3076s (0.82 housing) that make 200rwkw at 4,000rpm on 98 fuel. I can see a few HKS 2835 Pro S setups that make 200rwkw at 4,000rpm but even they need E85 fuel for that.
