  1. Why do they only care about the safety equipment on a car that has been caught hoon driving 3 times??
  2. Good comment at the bottom of the article: "They should do the same for unlicensed cars or drivers." These unlicensed drivers are not covered by any insurance if something was to happen. The police are getting too emotional about the whole thing, they need someone with a level head.
  3. As said previously, the amount you will get pulled over between an N/A skyline and a turbo skyline will be negligible. To be honest if you dont want cop attention dont buy a skyline at all. I havent had that many issues but its still on the cop target list. As R-SPEC said I dont think of a stock turbo skyline as a fast car anyway. You can definitely use a stock turbo skyline on the street no worries. My opinion is Turbo or get a different car!
  4. Thats exactly what happened to the first guy that got done in QLD. He booted off from the cops, stripped the car to a shell and put it on his front lawn for the cops to collect.
  5. Exactly, the only people that get done the third time have a piece of crap car and dont care about it. Tell me if you had a 100k GTR you wouldnt just put it in the garage after the second time. Go out and buy a piece of crap, get caught hoon driving in it and gladly hand the keys over. Does it reset after the third time? Then bring out 100k+ GTR
  6. Hahaha another well thought out strategy... Solution: Get a loan for your car with the slowest repayments possible, that way they you only loose the amount you have paid off the loan!
  7. The dynosheet at the end comparing stock vs GT600 vs GT800 is crazy!! Both make more power and torque than standard all the way from 2,000rpm onwards.
  8. Yup that would be about right. BA's were roughly 180, BFs around 200-220, but the FGs I have seen are around 240-260rwkw.
  9. It depends on which model XR6T, the new XR6Ts are making 240-260rwkw standard! Injectors and a tune are not exactly the hardest modification. The engine internals have been fine since the first model or two. Better then a skyline that you are forced to change/hi flow the turbo to get any serious power! Brings in all sorts of legal issues etc.
  10. Indeed! Yeah my hands did get sore especially when I got some paint stripper on my gloves and burnt through the gloves to my hands! I had a headache for the next day so its definitely strong stuff! Still havent got after shots dammit, but it looks good
  11. I think a well set up 250rwkw skyline would beat a 2010 HSV / XR6T / FPV pretty easily (assuming both get traction). They make roughly the same power but a skyline is a good 3-400kg lighter.
  12. So comparable in a straight line race I assume, standing start or rolling start?
  13. Yup as long as the auto is good ie. quick changes and changes at redline etc and we are talking about a straight line. Cause the manual would win around a track.
  14. I think a power figure with boost pressure would help sell your car. Also more details on the high flow turbo.
  15. Yeah no doubt the autos are tricky in the wet, if you have a good diff you simply power out of it. You just slowly take your foot off the throttle as the car gets straight. Lots of the posts here are more to do with going around a corner and loosing the rear. If you are travelling in a straight line, you should be able to keep the power on, correct the steering and gradually get off the throttle as the car straightens up. Lots of naughty people practice this on quiet private roads
  16. Ok went down and bought some paint stripper. The centre of the rim is painted and the dish and outer lip is clear coated. So I had to be very careful only to take the clear coat off and not touch the paint on the centre of the rim. The paint stripper is like a gel so I used a small desert spoon and gradually smoothed it on and then scraped it off with a plastic paint scraper. The clear coat bubbles and its pretty easy to get off. Then I grabbed some autosol polish and began to polish the metal, this also helps to show you where there is still clear coat as it wont shine up. Then reapply paint stripper to where you can still see clear coat. Once all clear coat is removed, I used the steel wool to gradually remove blemishes in the metal. Then just keep reapplying metal polish until you can see your face in the reflection It is very time consuming, I have only done 1 and a half of the wheels but omg it looks soooo much better. I will take a photo soon! Thanks to all that helped!
  17. Get some decent tyres! They are sooo important. If you cant handle the rear wheels losing traction then you need to adjust how you drive and get the best damn tyres you can afford.
  18. I thought N1s didnt have great response for their size, so you could go a larger newer turbo that would have the same response but better top end.
  19. Another very happy nistune user here. Just front pipe back exhaust, 10psi using turbo tech bleed valve, trust turnflow intercooler made 190rwkw. Seemed a bit low compared to others, but car drives very very well! Super smooth. Been almost a year now and have had no issues at all.
  20. One idea man, why not buy an R34 GT-T that someone else has spent the 20k on it, save yourself a tonne of money and means you dont have to go through all the effort of getting your car setup. I would personally buy this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/19...amp;hl=EAST+kit The other question you have to ask yourself is do you want the car to appear legal? If so, you want to stick to a hi flow turbo, go big cooler and keep the stock airbox. Exactly like the car above.
  21. Bit harsh comparing a stock GTR to a GTT with 3076 turbo and all supporting mods. But yeah I get what your saying.
  22. Before or after new turbo? The thing with a GTR is that if the stock turbos are in good nick, you can get 250rwkw out of em without too much $! But it is a big IF.
  23. Well hi flow turbos are visually legal. Big difference between having to raise a car and change the turbo etc etc.
  24. But your installing an aftermarket turbo? That can be defected
  25. Thats a good point, if your not worried about the turbo looking different to factory then may as well do it properly with an external gate. And definitely go the larger nismo injectors as they similar price.
