  3. Oooo someones touchy... Are you upset you bought the wrong turbo? WTF does weight and temperature have to do with turbo selection?? I will work it out for you, the 250kw has a major advantage of having race slicks. Why does the 250kw car get slicks and the 300kw car gets street tyres?? Surely both should be the same for an accurate comparison. With both on race slicks, the 300kw car would slam it everytime in a straight line.
  4. Wow that is a very responsive turbo, the stock turbo only beats it for a split second down low! Thats interesting you say its not about all out power and the only examples you give are quarter mile times. On the 1/4 mile it IS all about power. Its about your moroso power which is the average of the rpm range you use down the 1/4. So if you spend your time on the 1/4 between 4,000rpm and 7,000rpm then its about the average power between those rpm. So in actual fact for a 1/4 mile race it is about power. If you were to say street response, circuit racing or drifting then there would be more discussion. When did the discussion become about bang for buck? The topic is about most responsive turbo to make 275rwkw.
  5. The problem I have with building boost at 100% until you get near your desired boost pressure (by the way of a boost controller) is traction, it makes it a whole lot harder to get traction on anything but slicks. I suppose maybe 4th gear it would be better.

  11. Love the QLD mod plate, "yeah mate she looks good" and passed. No emission tests or engineering certificates etc.
  12. I have a direct comparison, my old man has a VZ series monaro with a tune (225rwkw) and I have an R34 GTT with a cooler exhaust and boost (190rwkw). Mine will just beat him in a straight line, as soon as a corner comes the R34 kills it. It depends what sort of person you are, are you into the look and feel of your car or the sheer performance of it? If you enjoy the look and feel of a car, then a change may be great and you can enjoy something different. If its the performance side, then the one that is more modded will win haha. So start modding! I went for a ride in the hypergear R33 with 300rwkw (but only running 270rwkw on the night) and it was spaz. It gave you a real thrill. Plus once you hit the speed, the skyline can hold more of it through the corner. My vote is for the R34. The monaro is a great car but more straight line oriented and a great cruising car.

  15. Do you have a dyno with boost pressure? A tune will unleash the power from the mods you have.
  16. As has been said you are right it should always make the same power or more with less exhaust restriction on a turbocharged vehicle (assuming everything else is consistent). The comment about this change pushing the tune out is very possible. Backpressure is definitely not helpful on a dump pipe of a turbocharged vehicle.

  18. I think that the police force have lost the support of the majority of people. So many ridiculous restrictive rules and punishments that a lot of people are saying well they are going to find some bullcrap to pin on me so I am just going to do what I feel like and cop it occassionally. BTW I am not excusing the behaviour of this guy, thats just stupid. I also am completely against drink driving, I am more talking about speeding and just this whole "we are going to get you" crap, how about some positive drive safely messages etc etc. The whole thing of being super strict on speed just means more congestion on the road, people in the right hand lane blocking the road and more frustration and silly driving because of it.
  19. Yeah true but if I was buying expensive nismo injectors I would hate to be limited by injector size. The 3076 is well known for making over 280rwkw. Not to mention its preferrable to not run the injectors to their limit. This is the issue I am looking at the moment. Looks like options are EV6 injectors such as siemens or bosch that fit an xr6 turbo and then modify the connectors and add spacers. Or hiflow injectors. Cant really see many other options for a decent size injector 600cc+.
  20. Only issue would be the injectors, I dont think they will flow enough for 280rwkw. Especially not if you have any plans for E85 later on.
  21. Is that for an RB25? That wont make anywhere near 275rwkw on an RB25. I think it will be too restrictive and lack any sort of top end. Just use a 0.63 housing on a GT30 turbo and it will be super responsive and wont restrict the top end as much.
  22. No chance in a straight line. Maybe on a really tight track. The HKS 2835 Pro S is pretty damn responsive.
  23. Thats a great idea, do you think it reduced power? This seems to be a restriction for people trying to use reponsive turbos but still make ~275rwkw.
