  1. Has anyone got a use for one of these in 3.9 ratio? AND is $250 to much money. Comes complete with half shafts if I don't buy them first. Cheers.
  2. Don't know what model you have, but 84/85 models have a different instrument cluster to 82/83 models, but as both my MR & HR's are both 84 models, I just had the Auto Elec change the wiring a tad. For me to get the 260K speedo, I had to export the original 180K speedo to Japan & then they sent me back the modified version, but it's the same speedo you send that you get back. It was a pain in the ass. Cheers, Dennis
  3. George, The volts gauge is standard in all Hatch models in Oz, all I did was change it over. If you want a volts gauge tell me and I'll post one over, then you just have to change the wiring to suit. Dennis
  4. Hi George, Where are you getting a 280K speedo? I have this speedo from Jenesis, that I scored some years back, but my curiosity is getting to me, as there isn't one track in Australia, with the exception of Bathurst that I could reach any more than 250k at, why would you want 280K. And may I point out, the Jenesis Speedo is an EXCHANGE transaction, you have to send a 180K speedo to Japan and then they convert it and send it back as a 260 modification. As for removing the radiator, I think your only problem will be the auto hydraulic lines that mount to the bottom tank, but as for the alloy top tank, I am going to have an all new alloy radiator made for mine eventually and probably change the flow pattern to horizontal rather than vertical, as this way is far more efficient. I will also be using the DR radiator as it is about 50mm wider giving more frontal area. The PNV badge scan??????? I was going to get one of our local signwriters to scan the side decal and make up a couple of vinyl signs identical and at the same size as the badge. Do you think you would prefer one of these instead? Cheers, Dennis
  5. The bit the arms bolt on to is the rear cross member. The pivot points are welded to the cross member.
  6. Can the moderators Kill this thread, I'm going to wreck it out. Pity
  7. Adam, That's a bloody triumph and a series 1 to boot. Do you know where Leyland got the motor from? I had a MkII 2500 TC spec'd up. I think mine was a 78 model. I bought a sports road cam from UK, along with an alloy rocker cover and re jetted the 1.75in SU's and it got along just fine, not quite as quick as a PI but close. and I didn't have the trouble with the fuel system my mate had with his PI. British Auto Parts in Sydney have got a series 1 with 2500 motor and triple webbers. Goes really cool.
  8. Sure is. It's the owner/driver at the end of the day that has to be happy. And thanks for the info, when it's that far gone there really is no turning back so making the best of it is really the answer. It's still a nice car all the same. Some years ago, when Peter Moore moved Moore Spares 200 yds down Blaxland Rd at Campbelltown NSW to Moore Parts Plus he sent a near complete S54 to the tip, and didn't I near cry when I found out. Cheers.
  9. But it's an S54, why isn't it stock, they went pretty well stockish, but sorry for this, now it's no better than a jag with a 350 chev up front. It's no longer a classic to the purists, that's why I scrapped the RB plans for mine. JMHO
  10. Shane, How's your car doing? You get to use those parts I sent down wisely. Cheers, Dennis
  11. Thanks Matt, I knew of that car, as you said he posted in the other thread, that marathon that eventually got locked down for good. With mine, I think it's only 5 in Oz unless George brings his back from NZ it will then be 6.
  12. I would have thought it would weigh a bomb, rather than a 1000kg. Like it's fairly old and our PNV's & DR's weigh more than 1000kg, yet they're considered light.
  13. Are you in NSW and if yes, where? I am near Campbelltown and I wouldn't mind seeing another one. Cheers, Dennis
  14. Is that an S54 or was that something else? But it looks good, be nice if my PNV looks that good.
  15. The L20ET & FJ turbo's were identical in fittment, just the FJ has a .63 rear housing as opposed to L20 .48. I'm putting the larger FJ turbo on my L20eT just for now. Disco, How much better is a VG30 turbo to the FJ T03, as I'm looking into an L28 for the PNV down the track a bit.
  16. The R30 Van/Wagon has a different rear end set up entirely to our coupes, it has a live rear axle as well. The bit your talking about??? is it the diff support, looks a bit like a spring or the cross member the trailing arms mount to??? Maybe you have bent the 2 posts the rear support slides on to or sheered some bolts off, as thats the only way I could see the diff moving. But I shipped a complete rear end assembly for about $70 along with a couple of gearboxes etc to Adelaide a couple of years back and freight rates are only about $50/tonne. The rear end would be cubic, but still I can't see it costing that much. Are bits that hard to get over there in SA. Cheers, Dennis
  17. You ever tried to buy one NEW??? But I have an enquiry on it that I am waiting confirmation on and will let you know.
  18. NO! you have to drill & tap them yourself.
  19. THERE HAS BEEN SOME CHANGES GTR valve springs and RB30E Harmonic Balancer prices have increased, as their costs were very different to first thought.
  20. Adam, I'm not leaving this body sit here forever, if no one takes up the offer by Saturday it's going. If you want the rear arms let me know and you can have 'em. Cheers, Dennis
  21. It's not that funny Adam, I bought mine for $5000, yet I have been offered $10000 for it. Understandably it was with all the goodies. George, the bonnets are getting scarce, but the biggest problem is the headlights, they are quickly gaining rocking horse sh!t status and the grilles maybe. I have a couple of spare grilles that are not perfect, I will try to get some pics of them and post them, but as I said the headlights are getting to be the biggest problem. When you do your L28, get the L28E inlet manifold, as Stagefumer tells me it supports better torque & power figures than our stock L20ET manifold, but the optimum is a 280ZX Turbo if you find one. Maybe you should consider swapping the engine numbers as well, to keep it original ha ha. I have a couple of similar buttons on mine that don't do anything, but I checked mine with the Paul Newman Register club in Japan and got the build dates from him. My chassis number is HR30-200170 and it was built in August/84, the engine number L20-980597 and was imported with 57818k on the dial. The interesting point I found in a sales brochure from Japan was, the Paul Newman Version wasn't released prior to 83, yet in Australia I have an 82 model, ha ha. I knew this car existed because I had seen it getting around my area and spoke to the owner 12 months earlier, so when I was in a position to buy I sourced him out. It was going to cost me about $57-5800 to get one from Japan, then it had to be complied etc, yet I offered him 5 and he grabbed it, as it was due for rego and he wanted out of it anyway. It has been garaged for all of it's Australian life and maticulously cared for. As for Adam's friend, if they knew they will never come into the country again, due to our new compliance laws and that they have reached CULT status in Japan and would cost in excess of AU$10000 just to buy it in Japan, makes a good one all that more valueable, but really only for the die hards. My PNV badge on the back is in my tool box and I intend to get it scanned and decals made of it, so that it is not totally missing, but would you find out if it is still available from your dealer as Sydney dealers don't say jack for it's availability. I have removed the boot garnish that says Skyline and replaced it with a similar chrome strip off a hatch, only because I don't want Nissan or Skyline on it at all, I want to keep 'em guessing when they get blown away or they see me out cruising. If I go down the L31 track, it may very well be the case of the earlier than later. Cheers, Dennis
  22. Thanks George, I bought mine in 2003 from it's original Ozzy importer, and I'm it's second owner here. It's an 84 model, but it has no compliance plates as they misteriously disappeared between the auction house in Japan & the ship it came on, as it came into Australia as an 82 model so that it would comply with the 15 year rule in 1997. It has just 157K on the dials but it will have zero when I register it again. I have a Jenesis 260kph speedo for this little gem. The only reason I questioned your pics is the lack of PNV badges that I see on the ones I know of, at the very least they have the badge on the back next to the number plate. Mine is marked everywhere, it is 002 White 0ver 028 Silver and had the badge on the back plus signature decals at the bottom of both rear quarters, forward of the rear wheels. It is missing the turbo badge on the boot in front of the ES, but I have a GT badge that will now go on the left side of the boot and the ES on the right. I am gathering bits to build a big L28 and possibly an L31 for it at a much later stage. Cheers, Dennis I have the Tekemon Iron Mask front & bonnet, the DR lower front spoiler and DR optional rear wing spoiler to go on at a later date.
  23. If you have an IMPORT with a wiper on the back, you will have 2 pumps under the washer bottle. You could just bypass the rear and send it to the front, problem solved for roadworthy, or tell me your address and we might be able to post you one.
