  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the R30 2.8 GTX an LD28 diesel motor? I was under the impression that the 2800GT was only sent to South Africa and it was diesel, LD28 motor.
  2. Yeah! I saw/watched it taken into the holding area under Campbelltown Police Station, it really nice from the passenger side, but the driver's side looked very ordinary.
  3. Did anyone bother to notice the car the to crooks that broke out of Parramatta Gaol the other week were caught in in good old down town MINNOOOOOOW?
  4. I have this on the way. Primarily as it was a stock option and will comply with cams regs as is not adjustable.
  5. Wakefield Park & Hillclimbs is the 4.375:1 and I haven't got standard gear ratios. 1. 3.214, 2. 1.925, 3. 1.302, 4. 1.000, 5. .752:1 1. 3.321, 2. 1.902, 3. 1.308, 4. 1.000, 5. .833:1 is stock ratios and tyres are 625mm static radius, near enough to same as 205/60 x 15.
  6. I have an S13/15, R32 Viscous LSD, 3.692:1 that was offered to Y0880 for Project 240K FREE, so that he could do some screwing around. Ask him what he was able to find out about the exchange. All I know is it has been done, but surely it wasn't easy as the whole viscous assembly has to change and it can't be separated. I have an extra R200 R30 LSD, 3.9:1 also not for sale, as I'm looking for a 4.3:1 or 4.4:1 centre to convert to LSD for my PNV. R200 open diffs were available in 260Z's as 3.7:1 and are fairly easy to get, but 3.9 and lower are scarce and when you do find them, they're not cheap.
  7. AS A MATTER OF INTEREST If they were readily available, how many would buy new badges from this range?
  8. [quote  haha, I'm a bit of a ricer at heart. I've got the 24 valve ceramic turbo on the side of mine. Sorry guys, but this is the only sticker on the side of my car and the GT guard badges. How much confusion can this create?
  9. Which half Matt??? The RB20DET is from an R32, but the gearbox is identical to that in an HR31 and everything else is either a/mkt or DR/HR30. Do you have a problem with the stock GT badges?
  10. I can only relate a story that came from the guy I bought my car off. One day in sunny down town Campbelltown NSW (sorry Ben) a guy was standing beside the car for over an hour and when Brian got back to the car this guy said to him, "I know what it is, but it's different, but I can't see where" and when it was pointed out that it only had 2 doors, the guy sheepishly left the scene. But I love the idea, the fact that all these dumass bastards that think they're the proverbial expert, (and we all know what an expert is) when it comes to cars. I think it's quite amusing and look forward to the day when I can stick it up some of these young so called experts.
  11. PUBLIC ENEMY #1? It certainly looks like this is where the Skyline is heading in NSW, thanks to a minority of idiots that like driving at 4 times the speed limit etc, etc. The Skyline is just one of a couple of makes being targeted by our poleticians to be banned from being driven by under 25 driver's and particularly "P" licence holders. Anybody got any suggestions on how to combat this problem?
  12. You may be correct, but the training manual says GX 1320M/1340A, GXE 1330M/1350A, Ti 1420, SE 1395M/1415A
  13. Maybe, not according to the training manual I have here, but I will stand corrected. R31's are not my forte.
  14. That's very interesting, as it's 40kg lighter than the factory minimum spec.
  15. A bit late I know, but I presently have 16 x 7's +38 Mirage 5 spokes up front and they will fit fine with a 1 inch spacer to clear the 4 spot caliper. Best spacer is bolt onto the hub, and has it's own standard studs to mount to, they are also the only type CAMS will approve for hillclimbs & supersprints. I also have a set of BSS Lorinser rims (ex Mercedes) modified to 4 stud and they are 3 piece rims and I am getting new inner rims made up to widen them in an inch, so that I will then have 16 x 8's all round. Cheers, Dennis
  16. Adrian, IPF is the brand name of the globes. They are a Japanese auxilliary light manufacturer just like PIAA. I bought the globes from 4WD Equipment on Milperra Rd Milperra, just near Flower Power. As for adjustment, mine have 2 adjusters, same as standard MR headlights. Maybe yours are stuffed or broken. Cheers, D
  17. Well guys, my first front cut had a special loom for the headlights. It provides a 30 amp bosch relay for every globe, coupled with IPF globes, I think the lights are outstanding. The original globes that came with the front cut were 80 series PIAA, but the IPF's are equally as good and half the price. The loom is also about an inch thick, with all wires bound as one. The new IPF globes are high output, low draw, which is the go now because of the lexan polycarbonate reflectors & lenses going into new cars today. My H4's are 130/110 output but only draw 60/55. The H1's are 150 output and only 65W draw. I also have a set of Ralliart H4's, that I'm yet to look at, but are 170/130 with 100/90 draw and these are considered very near H.I.D. Maybe you should be looking at a setup like this. And I have a Bluebird alternator set up (rewound) as 80amp, if someone wants to try playing with it. Prefer it to stay in Sydney as I would like it back sort of maybe. Cheers, D
  18. Hey Tom, That's a great bonnet ornament you have there, pity about the colour, white is such a contrast. Is it part of the optional extra's? Cheers, D
  19. Andrew, I was only being a little pedantic. At the end of the day, it's only a body and they're always going to be an R30. I have been criticised by some, for doing an RB conversion to my PNV, but everything that has a signature or number has been kept, so that re transformation is an easy task. Cheers, D
  20. But Matt's isn't a DR, it's an HR. Just looks like a DR with the iron mask front. Cheers. :ghost:
  21. Hi All, Trust we had a safe and happy new year. I have an RB30DET, specs .... standard crank machined 10 thou under (increases fillet radius for stronger crank) shot peened & linished rods with ARP bolts, race balanced, ACL forged pistons with coated crowns and lubricated skirts. Billet Steel VLT flywheel & clutch assy. Also have HKS exhaust manifold, genuine HKS 35mm external wastegate (14lb spring) and Trust inlet plenum. FMIC measures 400L x 280H x 65T. Will be running on 98 premium as a minimum, but probably VP 103 (107.5 ron) mostly. Have been considering a Garrett GT35/40, but have been advised to use a GT30/40. With a 4.1:1 diff ratio and R33 GTS 25t gearbox, at 2800 rpm I should be doing, 81.2 kph in 4th and 106.4 kph in 5th. It's a toy and not a daily driver, so low spool up rpm doesn't concern me greatly and I'm not looking for massive top end HP, driveability is my main concern. With 245/45's on the rear, I don't want massive amounts of wheel spin coming out of corners, ZERO wheel spin would be ideal. Searching for about 300rwkw, give or take, at between 14 - 21 psi, and staying under the 7500 rpm problem threshold, which way do I go. Which is my best option? Is the FMIC large enough? Is the wategate large enough? Is water or water/methanol injection worth considering? Looking forward to some useful ideas. Cheers,
  22. SKY031 Official Freak Name: ~K Location: Melbourne Car(s): R31 Ti Join Date: Jun 2002 Trader Rating: (2) Photos: 21 what IS your problem? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why ask something if you don't want to hear the answer? Why belittle someone by saying "why would you?" in regards to certain modifications? If someone chooses to do something to their car, they can. Get over it. If you have a problem with me, then take it up with either myself or christian. Just because I'm a moderator doesn't mean im not allowed to post. ~K __________________ R31 Skyline Club THIS IS PISSING ME OFF. Sorry my ass! This landed in my PM inbox 31.12.2004 from Karina. I have never responded to it, but chose to show everyone that she is never going to let it go, doesn't matter what her fellow moderators say, or even Rezz, a super moderator and as you have all read he just gave up. The PM in it's entirety has been forwarded to 3 moderators and Administration. A lot of people on this forum think I'm just an old wanker, that shoots his mouth of with no credentials to back it up, but let's set some records straight. I have 2 engineering degrees, yet made more money from Security Consultancy, the last contract being chief security consultant to 6 hotels in Bali after the bombing, and have now retired at 55. This last quote of mine from Karina, DOES NOT COME FROM THIS THREAD. It came from a thread started by Predator, in FOR SALE (Private Car Parts & Accessories) on 21.12.04 under R31 Turbo Conversion Parts (Gold Coast) so to quote me, she had to search all my posts, as I did. Make up your own mind as to who the aggressor is! She wants us to believe "SHE ISN'T THE INSTIGATOR" but just a poor misguided individual trying to explain something which is rather "BLACK & WHITE" and that she was only acting on my request. BULLSH!T, BULLSH!T, BULLSH!T She is a problem and a trouble maker. The quote "please explain to this dumb ass old fart etc, etc." Somebody please show me where she has explained ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where has she provided any ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How have I "belittled" cazz, as I'm sure she doesn't think the same way. Where did I ever say she (cazz) couldn't do any mods to her car? And "get over it" ....... I have, and let it go, but it's obvious Karina can't, because she is trying to move the sh!t fight into the PM arena. Somehow I think she has a very loose grip on the english language, as she has no idea what the meaning of words are. "JELLY WRESTLING"" that could be fun, from what I have been told she could do that all on her own. AND her alter ego, is it superwoman, or just something that chases cars and goes WOOF, WOOF. This is my last word on this subject and all and any further correspondence will be forwarded to the moderators and administration. AND I SINCERELY APOLOGISE TO ALL FORUM MEMBERS FOR MY ACTIONS AND STATEMENTS DURING THE COURSE OF THIS ENCOUNTER, THEY WERE MADE IN HASTE AND I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO MAKE SURE IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
  23. All MR30's sold in Australia with Australian compliance plates were shipped to Australia as whole and complete cars and things like tyres & seat belts were changed here to meet Aust Standards. If the original plates and tags are still intact, you will find a small plate, usually black in colour, about 50mm long that has a build date, which will be different to the compliance date on the firewall. The build date is that as in Japan.
