  1. BRAKES!!!! They would depend a lot on the use of the vehicle. My HR30 PNV has over 250rwkw (about 340rwhp) more than most of us on this thread will ever have. I have BNR32 GTR fronts (296 x 32 ventilated rotors) with Nissan 4 spot alloy callipers, the rears are standard DR30 2000RS (290 x 10 solid rotors) with standard single spot calliper. Bearing in mind that a large proportion of the braking is done by the fronts, using slotted rotors and EBC, Endless or similar pad upgrade, you should find the braking more than adequate for all but the most extreme race conditions. S/S braided lines will also help, as they eliminate the expansion the rubber lines get under application pressures. Makes the pedal feel harder. Z32 300ZX (280 x 30 ventilated rotors) are also an option, but in both cases, the offset of the front wheels has to change to alloy clearance on the 4 spot calliper. My car is going to engineering with stock DR30 all round and after fronts will be modified to suit BNR32 GTR, because wheel spacers OF ANY KIND are illegal and very necessary to cater for the 4 spot calliper. I am planning to use my car for Super Sprints & Hillclimbs and they will be the best I can get, for value. Someone please tell me why I need bigger, but first go to the Jenesis site www.r30.co.jp and tell me where they say anything bigger than DR30 rears are required, and they have been racing these cars since long before we all got interested in them.

  9. My mate has an S13 180SX and he can't change the sensor, but the beeper itself simply attaches to the back of the speedo by 2 screws. He removed the beeper/speaker and NO MORE NOISE, but you have to put the screws back, something to do with open circuits, as others have removed the beeper, left the screws out and had problems with the speedo fluctuating.
  10. On a PUNT, I would suggest it's a Kiwi car, just from it's sponsorship. Got any more info, like is it in Australia???
  11. PM me and we can get it all organised from there.
  12. For about $500.00
  13. They only engine manuals from Import Driver, I have one of R32 version.
  14. How much for a copy? And for interest, anybody that wants a copy of the R32 GTR manual, I have the pdf version of that. Cost you $1 + postage.
  15. Once the air pressure inside the engine bay equals the air pressure on the outside the flow through the coolers is ZERO and the only cooling would be on the front face and regardless wether there is a big hole or little hole at the front, the oncoming air is basically the same.
  16. DRAG, has an effect at 1 kph, but a much greater effect at over 100. Take these "shopping trolley handles" that are on Hyundai Excel's for instance, a mate took the one off his misses's car and got an improvemrnt in fuel economy of over 5% and it has never been over 80 kph in it's life.
  17. There is an excellent article in Autospeed this issue about airflow through the coolers and believe it or not, it has nearly SFA to do with the size of the front opening (grille area) that determins the amount of airflow. It has everything to do with the amount of pressure in the engine bay and how successfully you disperse it. Lift the back of the bonnet about a cm and you will be surprised how much difference is in the airflow. I am getting a couple of the gauges that measure the pressures and do the tests myself and then I will let everyone know the outcome.
  18. TEKAMON Vs STANDARD Fronts For those that are wanting a performance vehicle? The DRAG co efficients of both fronts are Tekamon/Iron Mask 0.37 yet the standard front with large head lights etc has 0.46. Some perspective is the Z32 300ZX has a drag co efficient of 0.32. The lower the number the less air drag.
  19. Are they 296 x 32 fronts??? If so, how much for fronts only?
  20. 4L will get you by. Box = 2L & R180 holds 1L, so 2 should do the R200.
  21. The DRIFTING & OVERHEATING has SFA to do with your heater core failing, it is a corrosion issue, over years of abuse, having water instead of coolant going through it, it has finally corroded away and failed at it's weakest point. Probably a bend/end of a core tube. Get the one off RSX and if nothing else you will have something to take to the radiator people as an example, or to compare to R31. Maybe we can all learn something, if the R31 core is the same, you can tell us, but it has to be exact, because there isn't much space in the heater box where it fits.
  22. Anybody subscribe to AUTOSPEED online performance magazine? Those that do, go have a good read about spoilers etc in latest issue. If you remember there was some discussion on here about airflow throw the radiator and using bonnet louvers/vents etc. MAKES VERY INTERESTING READING Those that don't have access to the article, drop me a line and I'll organise a copy. Cheers
  23. It has to come out to be replaced. My suggestion is take it to a Radiator Specialist and get a core that fits, or they might be able to source a new one tanks and all once they know the size.
  24. NOWHERE! We all still here, Adam & I just having a chat. But remember this: We wouldn't be driving what we are if it wasn't for the poms. Nissan/Datsun bought their original blueprints from the then, British Motor Corporation
  25. I aspire to own a TR4A or TR5 some day, I think the yanks have the TR5 as a TR250, but that's my all time favourite triumph. Maybe when I'm old and don't need 400HP to thrill me anymore. Maybe then I can co opt Tim down tassie to navigate for me in the Targa.
