  1. Geez I'm glad to see everyone is so smart to convict, without veryfying the authenticity of the document. Please! would someone advise me if I'm correct in saying we only had 2 enduro's each year in 86 & 87.
  2. And last time we communicated over comments made by a certain SKY031, I thought you showed some intelligence, but now I question that too! Now that it's a different car to the rsx84 link, WHERE did it come from??? You trying to tell us now that the #30 car Terry Ashwood owns/owned is the imposter. But for mine, with the evidence we were presented with and not being privvy to the log books and buzz not informing us that he had seen them, what else were we to do but to do as we did. Buggered if I know, everyones the expert, guess I'll just say nothing in future. But an apology is not going to happen. PM Sent
  3. That's very interesting cazz, you want to stick it up me, as some sort of lame ass buffoon that knows SFA, well let's just see where we are going here, let's just find out who does and doesn't know the real deal when they see it. "What is NEXT SEASON'S COLOURS" there was only one blue used by GMS on DR30's and it sure isn't anything next season! And the DR30 did not race with a Holinger! wonder who is clutching at straws now, because Holinger built all of the DR30 gearboxes, go check on the specs before you shoot your mouth off in future. The DR30 Gearboxes were Holinger built Nissan 5 Speeds. AND my girl I think you just might find the shift pattern was the reverse of standard. 2, 3, 4 & 5 in the conventional H pattern with 1st left and down, with reverse left and up. AS for a slanging match dear Miss Cazz, I suggest you talk to the buzz about that, as I sent him a couple of PM's so that it didn't go the way your suggesting, and I apologised to him for my actions, so I guess your just running off at the mouth yet again. As for my lack of knowledge, please explain just one thing for me.............. as it was part of Group A ATCC safety regs, IF this car is any more than a copy, OR PROMOTIONAL vehicle, show me where the KILL switches are on this famous #30 real mccoy your all so proud of. IF that's not enough, how come this car has 2 wipers when the race car only had 1 & 2 seats when the race car had only 1, as I mentioned before. Why the massive changes to instrumentation and control switches. Maybe it's time to put up or shut up AND just for the hell of it, and that you know the owner so well, why don't you show him the thread, put it under his nose and tell him to give me a call and just maybe we can all put this retched imposter to bed. And CAZZ, IF you bothered to look at the link rsx84 put up, it CLEARLY STATES "SETON'S OLD CAR" which it was suggested by myself as a possibility VERY early in this post and the car Glenn Seton campaigned was #15 NOT #30 as is shown here and it was never more than the sister back up for George's #30 car. It never contested the ATCC other than the enduro's, which in those days were not part of the ATCC. Just maybe IF it was showing it's true race number, none of this would have eventuated. Remember! this car was & is presented as George Fury's #30 car, which I have said all along, it clearly isn't. Thanks rsx84 for making everything so indellibly clear.
  4. Just for the record, IF you want me to show all this cars misgivings, maybe you should ask? At best this would have been a demo car, but it sure wasn't the RACE car.
  5. No one has said he's on trial, but please explain why??? anyone would post pics of a car, that it is clearly not??? You think I've got my knickers in a not, you aint seen nothin yet, one day I might get to see this imposter and do some checking out myself. If your such the veritable expert in these matters, please explain what Terry Ashwood is advertising for $125000.00 Personally I would like to see a lot more pics of this car, in particular, the underside so some more accurate assessments could be made, but with this evidence lacking, we can only go on what we can see. Your telling us that there was & is two number 30 DR30's raced by George Fury & Co, sponsored by Peter Jackson cigarettes and campaigned by Gibson Motor Sport. Think your a bit off the mark there eh!
  6. If it's the real deal, you won't get any criticism from me! I've seen the same bluebird your talking about in the flesh, many years ago, but still I was there, at Oran Park as I recall. D
  7. Sorry Buzz, But you present a car to a forum, very nearly dedicated to a particular model of Skyline, perporting it to be "The Car! that George Fury raced" but is so far from it, it isn't funny. Rather than get into a slanging match on here, maybe it should have been presented in a different way, as it most certainly isn't the same car driven by the one and only George Fury. It is and has been very well documented by Zoom magazine among others, articles on the exact car, the car that Terry Ashwood ownes or owned. Maybe we are wrong, maybe it is a GMS car, maybe it could be anything, but it sure isn't what you presented it as. I say sorry again, but you present something as one thing, when it certainly isn't, what do you expect. As for you wouldn't spend big dollars on a mocked up track hack, well that remains to be seen, or have you forgotten about the "FINE COTTON AFFAIR" and I don't know that it would be all that difficult to knock up an authentic looking log book, as I don't know that the log books have changed all that much in the past 20 odd years. I would expect all that would be needed is a CAMS scrutineer in your hip pocket. IF it is legit, then let's have the proof, but if it is a fake, you aren't the first and certainly wont be the last to be conned by someone looking to make a fast buck. Cheers
  8. So! it's got log books, BUT I bet they're not THE LOG BOOKS of the #30 Car campaigned by George Fury in the late 80's that was 3rd behind it's sister car #15 at Bathurst and won Sandown in the same year. For starters it's the WRONG colour, it has far too much bullsh!t on it, The spoiler isn't even a factory option, so whoever he bought it off was a fool, to f@#k with something as they have. I wpould want to see the log books before your ever going to convince me it's anything GMS let alone as you say the real deal. Something you forget, I was there in '86 when it was being campaigned, where were you other than in diapers.
  9. George, This is where the pics went, got edited by "the buzz" Maybe he met a bit more opposition than first thought, maybe he thought we were all dumb ass jerks that couldn't tell the difference between a genuine article & someones idea of a complete farce. Maybe he thought he best get rid of the evidence before someone really started ripping it to shreds. Anyway, here is the one I kept for prosperity. Cheers, Dennis
  10. IF it weren't bought from Terry Ashwood, IT AIN'T the original or successor George Fury/GMS/PJR car. In my humble opinion, "I think your mate should get a manager" And stop handling himself. It could be the old Seton back up car as that was being campaigned as a sports sedan by some guy in Canberra for a few years. But that never ever carried #30. Your mates a bit of a legend, in his own lunch time.
  11. George, Your half right! The original PJR cars were quite attractive in original livery, but this car on closer inspection is a real bitser. Do a google search for a place called Autopics and you will find some original race pics of the PJR DR30's and they're quite nice. The original DR RSX body kit wasn't so overdone like the side skirts on this car. I know because I have an RSX body kit under my house. The side skirts aren't much more than large ridges down the side and don't extend past the bottom edge of the front spoiler. This pic also includes a lower lip extension, which doesn't come on the original kit. D
  12. Bank deposit confirmed, gave parcels to mate to post tonight, should see them shortly, either later this week or next. Interesting what you say about that side trim, maybe I should get a sedan bootlid and compare, but all importers claim they are different. Cheers, Dennis
  13. Harry, Bet there isn't one. ha ha D
  14. All R30 Trailing Arms are identical, but your going to have to source HR PNV or DR half shafts, as they are shorter than the MR's due to the bigger R200 diff. The R200 is much wider hence the shorter length of the half shafts. Some 260Z's had R200's but they used a universal joint type shaft as opposed to the later CV versions. I don't know the dimensions of the 510 1600, but I do know of a Bluebird getting around Sydney that put a complete R30 rear end in, including cross member etc etc. They had to weld in the mounting posts etc for the cross member, but it fitted without to much drama. Good luck, cause your hunting a rare item today. Anyone with spares would be very reluctant to part with them. Best to check around the parts importers. If you have no joys come back to me and I'll ask about here in Sydney. Cheers, Dennis
  15. Thanks Harry, You sorted me out yet again, as I didn't consider that possibility, that I could have gone right away from anything other than modified production. I might just go with the SWR ones as I was originally planning and using 1600 daddo polyurethane bushes. Guess the whole idea is going down the toilet now guys, but if someone really wants them, I will price them up and let all know. Cheers, Dennis
  16. Something horribly wrong here????? Original car never had multi coil packs, ran a stock T03 with internal wastegate. Used a different steering wheel, the dash is different, where have the switches and warning lights gone where we have mirror adjustment. The original factory cast manifold has gone, so to has the GMS radiator set up and the roll cage is different. Look at the hubs, as they have been changed as well, looks like bigger diameter wheels than the 17's used by Fred Gibson & Co. The bonnet number is also another change, as the ridgy didge car just had 30 in white on the blue background. AND I don't think the colour is right, I thought it was a much darker blue on Peter Jackson cigarettes and hence the PJR cars. I also don't remember PJR advertising on the rear bumper. Show me where the Bilstein stickers have gone and how come this car has 2 GREY front seats when the GMS/PJR car only had 1 RED Sparco driver's seat. The original car as I saw it would be hard pressed to fit a seat on the passenger side, for all the crap GMS had there. I would like to hear from the other side of the tree (Terry Aswood) before I'm going to believe this is anything more than a replica. There are FAR too many changes in this car to convince me that it's THE ORIGINAL PJR George Fury car. And if it is, it's a real shame as a piece of Aussie motoring history has just vanished forever. Maybe the new owner, IF it is the real mccoy should go visit a shrink. Someone done a numbers check?????????
  17. Dan, The Aussie Sedan & Import Coupe rear qtrs are different, so don't get sucked in by some assumption. I think you will find the coupe's have a longer rear and for sure they have 2 different part numbers. Any dealer will tell you that different part numbers means a difference somewhere. May I suggest you go find an aussie sedan in a wrecker and measure the length of the bootlid each side, centre, etc, but I have given you the coupe part numbers already. Cheers, Dennis
  18. Powerplay Imports car weighs 1240kg, in road trim.
  19. ARE you looking for ANY import rear end??????? There are 2 sorts you know. Most HR30 rears are same as local MR30, using R180 diffs and 258 x 10mm disc rotors. But HR30 Paul Newman & DR30 rears use an R200 LSD diff. PNV's use the 258 x 10mm disc rotors and DR30's use 290 x 10mm disc rotors. If you choose to go with the DR rear, an upgrade in master cylinder to at least 15/16, but preferably 1" will be a necessity and with 1" depending on which model you have may include a new proportioning valve and brake lines. ANY of the R200 LSD rear ends will cost you a minimum of $1500.00 complete, as they get better than $1200.00 just for an LSD diff, plus rocking horse sh!t, will be getting easier to find shortly, compared to an R200 LSD in any form to suit. There is a guy on ebay at Gosford NSW selling an R200 from a 260Z for about $45.00 presently, but it's pick up only. You would also have to source half shafts to suit, but it would mount straight to the R30 cross member. Guess you have some thinking to do eh! as it's not just a simple changeover, although everything just bolts on. Cheers, Dennis
  20. Jason, Do you know the diference between the 2 bars, do you have some measurements of the C210 bar, overall, bolt mount spacings etc. Dennis
  21. This might be a dumb question, but are you talking the vertical one attached to the rear glass, or the rubbers aroind the body? D
  22. When I can get enough interested. Maybe 6 including me.
  23. I guess they would be the same as my PNV coupe rubbers. If they are I'll go ask Peter Jackson's Old Auto Rubber, next week and see what I can find. Cheers, D
  24. Will L28E suffice, got a set of them too! Where are you??? PM me and I can do you a deal. D
  25. That right??? My RB25DE injectors have a funny thing on top that looks like a fuel rail to me and they have an 'O' Ring seal on the top. Sure your not thinking about Turbo injectors, you know DET.
