  1. I've built one of these and hooked the output of it up to one of the inputs on my Lambda sensors data logging software. Gone for a few runs and compared it to the PFC's knock level. The knock boards output seems to rise in volume directly in line with revs. Small spikes occur but you can see pretty clearly what is normal noise and what is abnormal. Havn't had a chance to actually go out and make the engine knock to test it properly though. I'll report back when I do. I'll also grab some screen shots of the logs off the laptop when I get a chance.
  2. Easy way to work out if it's the boost controller or not is to watch the wastegate flap on the dyno while the boost begins to drop. If the flap is opening more as the boost drops then the wastegate or boost controller is the issue however if the flap stays constant or even begins to close then I'd say the compressor is simply out of flow. 6000+RPM on an RB20 with a GT2530 is getting very close to the end of the compressor map.
  3. Any word on what spec wheels are actually used in this upgrade? Thanks!
  4. Just curious on the wheel specs which you use in these units? Friend is interested but needs to know the wheel sizes.
  5. Ah yeah. It does look quite good through the over few runs in the middle. It must have 'run in'? Doesn't quite work like that. Surprised a turbo 'manufacturer' would be under the impression that plain bearing turbos take a few thousand kilometers to 'run in.'
  6. Pretty much like the factory turbo? Right...... Looks good at 18psi, but the higher boost level curves start looking poor. Compressor is probably beginning to run out of flow.
  7. I've picked up a set of these once and they were unbelievably light for a lipped rim.
  8. Standrd RB25DET injectors will do more than 210rwkw for sure. But 270 is too much. Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?
  9. "I felt I drove a really good race and was moving through the field very quickly when the circuit was at its wettest. If it had kept on raining, I feel pretty confident I probably could have even won from 15th grid position; but, as the circuit dried out, my tyres overcooked and I had to defend my position from Mark Webber. Still, today was all about damage control: I came away with some points and kept my lead in the world drivers’ championship. Finally, I’d like to offer my congratulations to Sebastian on winning his first grand prix - I know what a sweet feeling that is!" -LH
  10. Is it actually available in Melbourne yet? Was looking into it yesterday but could only find info about the one United in NSW selling it.
  11. You wouldn't happen to be that promax 180sx that goes around Winton?
  12. Nice work man. The stock HKS welds on those manifolds are horrible. Every one I have come across has cracked in no time. What turbo is that? What flange did you convert the manifold to?
  13. Hey all. I'm looking for an R33 or 180SX Type X Manual Turbo Diff from an ABS equipped car. I need one of these as I want the gears from the housings. I don't mind if the center is f**ked and it singles out constantly etc. Anyone have one in Melbourne? Thanks
  14. No, the T517Z is the T517Z. T517Z = TD05 17C T518Z = TD05 18G T618Z = TD06 18G
  15. Never mind. Just realised the dump flanges are different.
  16. Hey all. Just wondering what the differences (Flanges, housings, etc) between the T517Zs in the GTR kit and the single T517Zs sold for SR20 are? Reason being my friend had T517Zs on this RB26 and one has blown up. Wondering if I could fit his remaining turbo to my SR20? Thanks. Peter
  17. Wait. The PowerFC boost controller has a gain setting. I know it's not the best, but I'm using one with my stock turbo and it makes 16psi at 2900rpm in 4th if the gain is set agressively. Can't be that bad. (Sorry. This is on an SR20)
  18. 1.25 bar all the way. Knocked this up for a friend who was trying to decide on a turbo for his RB25. The blue dot is peak torque on stock RB25 cams.
  19. In my experience they were good tyres in the dry but pretty poor in the wet.
  20. Thanks for all the help guys! QWK32 I never thought of that. I'll give the other plugs a go. And I'll try to source another ignitor pack to swap it with to give it a try. However, I think you're on the money bubba. I pulled off one of the plugs and had a look inside and the little piece of plastic which holds the pins against the sockets on the plug was broken! I wired the wires straight onto the coil pack for now until I can find a replacement plug. Put some new plugs in and it's working fine, for now. Again, thanks for all the advice. I'll see how it goes!
  21. Hmm. Might switch ignitor packs with another RB20 and see if it makes a difference.
