  1. no that is f%^king incredible!!! trust me that is revolutionary...getting a pc to open and close relays is nothing by getting all that data and controlling and then displaying it is complexe! WOW
  2. so who is comming on friday?
  3. evil all bets are off when you are drunk! just say you have important meetings to go to and you are really sorry and will buy him a case!
  4. have you changed that sensor? how did you wire it in and did you reconnect the factory plug as well for the ACthermo fan???
  5. TiTan what are you using to trig the thermos on or are they on all the time? i just bought my tridon thermo fan switch to put at the boottom of the radiaotr...on at 85deg, off at 80deg... i will wire that to the new thermo fan only andnot the AC condensor fan, hopefully with both fans comming on and off the current drain may not be as bad!
  6. dude did you read the post??? last part...have a look... BIG difference!
  7. yeah we are talking all fans here, nothing to do with the coolant thermostat...
  8. Hi guys, so my factory fan decided to mimic a nissan patrol and sound like some kind of stupidly big turbo...silly fan! anyway... i thought this was a good opportunity to try a thermo fan... had heard the help the engine rev better and whatnot...this is obvious. ok so my findings so far: 1. the thermo fan i bought (calibre from supercheap, 16" baby) is a perfect fit fo the radiaotr, same height and all and slightly bigger than factory fan. one to note though...there is no way in the world this fan or any thermo fan would ever move as much air as the factory clutch fan...the blades are smaller and the pitch is not even close...but thats ok, we'll deal with it. 2. when wiring the kit up they fail to mention you still need a thermo switch to make it all work, no i didnt have one and wanted this thing in now...so i found out via this forum you can use the temp switch at the bottom of the radiator. this does not work with the factory switch as i found out thet when it closes its circuit, only 300mV comes out the other side of it, even though 12V is present on the other side...so what i did is run the relay trip wire from the AC thermo fan and now both fans will always come on together... now this switch does trigger the AC thermo fan when the temp gets around 93/94 deg whcih is where the temp gets to now with the thermo fan installed. 3. what i plan on doing is installing a tridon temp switch in the bottom of the radiator replacing the current one, but the new one will trig at 85deg i think... 4. the only major problem i have now is that when the fan(s) come on the currant drops in the car and all the lights dim and the revs drop a little....a bit fustrating. reset the PFC and all (relearn idle procedure, same tune) hopefully it wont be as bad once i change the switch over and only one fan comes on etc. 5. can disconnect the cable that normally comes out from the switch at the bottom of the radiator so that it exclusivly trigs the large thermo fan i installed??? does anyone else have any experiences/tips from the world of thermo fans and loosing the clutch fan?!?!? one very big important point... the car perfoms so much better and the response is awesome, its a very big difference loosing the factory fan!!!
  9. Druncan?!?!? lol is that a drunk duncan?
  10. oh wow, wish i had higher than l2s now... who has higher?
  11. hmmm i might be up for the 19th...
  12. i have this problem too, i even pulled both mirros off to check them on the passengers side and the both work on the pass side but not on the drivers side! help me!
  13. yeah well its super rich....so i guess thats a good place to start diagnosing from... check the base timing... also check the diagnosis codes from the ecu...
  14. you need to bath it in turps/thinners and i mean bath it! you will need litres of the stuff and drown the gear. then you need to rub it off and it will come off heaps easy. then you need to use wet and dry and sand the whole thing back perfect and the you can start with priming, more wet and dry and then paint!
  15. so how do you change the display then without the remote? what does the remote look like? does this need the factory ecu to work?
  16. i havnothign but good words for plx. they have a resonse on their website as well to that shootout....dont beleive everything you read you know...
  17. yeah right...well i had this problem too... now you could mess around with the batterery and all but hey, just like petrol and sparks...you wont get a fire, the airbag will not ever deploy unless you trigger it by crashing!!! so simply undo the plug on the under side of the airbag and hey presto, no risk of airbag going off! funny that anyway i just ripped that annoying weight out of my car...does nothing at all really especially not for us hardcore drivers...lol yay no more rattle!
  18. where is the install part? very keen to see how you did this...
  19. yeah i have this too...
  20. the fittings are all fine. mine leaked when i first installed it in the exact same place. just make sure you do everything up super tight! my kit is perfect and its all looking very mickey mouse! i think they are great... its not like they are actually that cheap anyway...
  21. and remeber no intercooler is legal as as far as the cops and epa are concerned, they alter emissions and so you need to be emmisions tested and also need an engineers certificate....
  22. it will tell you if the stock o2 sensor is working or not, it will also tell you on cruise if the ecu is having an easy time correcting fuel mixtures as it will hover and bounce either side of 14.7 afr... so not completely useless...
  23. custome made stainless steel bracket by me mechanist
