  1. I reckon it will work out a lot more expensive and frustrating that just buying a working car.. If you're than keen on building it up, then try find a wrecked 33 that you can swap the interior and working bits from.
  2. The ecu has timing maps, that's where it gets its' timing info from. The maps are relative to the base timing though, so if you adjust the CAS it adjust timing across the board.
  3. Join the club already.
  4. No, don't try adjusting your timing yourself unless you know what you're doing.
  5. Like any apprentice, fk all. Ring the Apprenticentre or whatever they're called.
  6. Double clutching is for truck drivers. With my button clutch I have to blip the throttle on downshift otherwise it will either compression lockup (if I'm off the clutch quickly) or slip/grind/carry on if I let it out slowly). A blip of the throttle while passing through neutral makes thing a lot nicer in my case
  7. TBH I don't really care, but I think before any of you take anything for granted, you should call your insurance company and find out. I was only stating what *I* was told in an effort to stop anyone getting taken for a ride by an insurance company trying to weasel out of a claim.
  8. Flickering probably means the power steering fluid is low, if it comes on and stays on then it's probably gone into fault mode. If that's the case, run diagnostics and address any errors. OR, rip it out and put a lockbar in there
  9. I think aslong as it's an early push type it will be fine. Later GTR's had a pull type.
  10. They checked my ENGINE NUMBER, I didn't even tell them it had a new, bigger engine. Really, it defeats the purpose to deceive the inspector. Get it licensed properly.
  11. Pretty sure they say that YOU have to make them aware of any further infringements, the onus is on YOU to make sure THEY are aware of your driving record. Maybe it only applies for serious offences.
  12. As Paolo said, there is a thread for your "ride" which can include such things as mods, dyno graphs etc.
  13. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of trying to get the 30 licensed? Or is the car not currently licensed at all?
  14. Furry muff.
  15. Lots.. but you have to put names and phone numbers in.. and I don't want to be up for $1000 worth of manuals at some point in the future lol
  16. OK, lets start here with the safety aspect. CO2 is dangerous stuff (anything under pressure is really). Any tank that buy outside the country is likely not going to be able to be tested and/or filled here. I have toyed around with the idea of using some of my old paintball equipment (co2 tanks, ASA's, macros lines etc) to fit a co2 sprayer onto the intercooler. Old paintball markers run on food grade CO2, can get big bottles of it from places like BOC Gasses. You fill by weight and need a simple fill station (can buy from a paintball equipment distributor). The good thing about CO2 is that it is self regulating to ~800psi, you could utilise a regulator designed for paintball to drop pressure if needed. Lastly, don't forget you will be releasing CO2 into the atmosphere so don't have it exhaust near your air filter or any vents.
  17. Registered interest for WC34.. nearly at 50.. 6 months and not even 50.. someone convince them to publish at 50!
  18. Are 33gtst brakes a straight swap for a series 2?
  19. Join SAUWA and then you can take a peak in the Members' section
  20. They asked me.
  21. My 30 makes boost (not a whole lot though) in neutral but the turbo is so small it spools from idle.
  22. lol My crank cost me $100 because I couldn't be bothered taking the engine home to pull it apart just so I could take the crank back to be ground.. so I just paid the guy to take it out for me seeing as the crank was technically already where it needed to be P.S. 3L torque ftw! P.P.S. fair enough cam, I know what you've put into this engine so it'd be nice to see it all the way through! good luck bro!
  23. 20 to 25 is only a 25% capacity increase, shouldn't be any need for engineering involved.
  24. Has to have been modified, you see the top bolt of the bracket (right near the head), on RB20/25/26 the top bolt bolts to the head (hence the deeper boss). With the 30 all 3 bolts bolt to the block. I could maybe see how an RB30E bracket would fit (obviously), but how it positions the pump compared to the twincam engines, I don't know. Never thought to try an RB30E power steering bracket.. I just hacked into mine with the wizzah disk
