  1. Yeah it's the same as I run mine too. Wouldn't having the catchcan filter in the airbox almost defeat the purpose of removing oil/vapour from the intake stream?
  2. I will be trialling a particular thermo switch if I can find it, it's on at 85 and off at 80, apparently out of some Magna - the v8 boys use them.
  3. I'm running a carpc in my 32 using a VoomPC-II enclosure, it's a 1.2Ghz onboard mini-ITX with 1Gb RAM, 120Gb 2.5" HDD and a slim DVD drive. PC cost about $500 to build and the touchscreen was more than the cost of the PC itself. I have a trackball stashed to the left of the centre console for when I need to do something that is a bit hard with the touchscreen. Don't have a keyboard in the car as there is no need, have tried a mates 3G broadband dongle and it's mint. PC is about the size of my amp and resides in the passenger footwell up against the side of the centre console, gives me easy access to DVD drive and USB ports. It's a fairly removable setup. You could get pretty fancy if you wanted to graft things like the screen, USB ports, slot-loading DVD drive into the dash. I use it for music (outputs to the aux port in my deck) and for diagnostics (remapped stock ecu, have consult cable permanently plugged in). For the screen, make sure you get one with VGA input or it will look like shiet Edit: have been contemplating organising a group buy on the VoomPC setups (shipping is a killer) and I have a local supplier of 7" non-motorised in-dash VGA screens (they have others too).. not sure if there's enough interest though.
  4. My 595SS's are pretty good in the wet, have never felt "unsafe" with them.
  5. Keep dreamin'!
  6. If you have a cat, you won't for much longer
  7. Umm.. that's exactly what they are supposed to do..
  8. To run an atmo can, you need to block the PCV valve and block the return to the intake pipe. You can then run both breathers from the cam covers to a vented catch can.
  9. 3L is the way to go for bottom end
  10. No, I think he's using an app on his iPhone which uses the GPS features to time himself. It's not all virtual
  11. Take it to a real strip. Where are you managing to run a 1/4mile on the street anyway? 166kmh is well over the speed limit P.S. with 183rwkw I ran a 13.9 @ 103mph, 2.3sec 60' (no traction in 1st).
  12. 117.9 for U98 this morning at BP East Perth.
  13. I've got 2x11" thermos that I'm throwing in front of the radiator (removing aircon condenser and dryer/receiver), not removing clutch fan though. This is for extra cooling during burnouts and while sideways. Is there a bigger alternator we can use on our skylines?
  14. Just when you got me hooked you went nowhere! If we can find out what the ratios of 25 and 20 boxes are, we can start to put them together, attempt to roughly compare each others setups and hopefully end up some what more enlightened!
  15. lol 20L/100km?! My 3L running rich as fk gets 15L/100km on a bad day!
  16. +1 For about a month before I put my 25t box in, I was driving around with a snapped speedo cable (was over Xmas so couldn't do much about it.. bought a radar detector to be on the safe side heh), but yeah it takes a couple of minutes for it to kick into failsafe mode and it is pretty dodgy if you're turning when it does so!
  17. I didn't buy the skyline to be economical, I then didn't put a 3L in for the same reason and I'm also not strapping a GT35R on there because I want to be frugal with fuel.
  18. yay for compensation! *cough* 34gtr *cough*
  19. How different is GTR 5th ratio to 25t 5th ratio? as I'm pretty sure I was up around 3000rpm in 5th with the 4.3s.. or maybe it's the RB20 boxes 5th that is a different ratio (3.9s went in when I still had RB20 box) If our 5th ratios are the same then you're going to want at least 3.9 which gives me 2250rpm or 3.7's would probably give you pretty close to 2000rpm.
  20. I guess you haven't found your inner bogan yet..
  21. I missed the initial altercation but got everything after that, the bottle flying that I got on film was thrown by some young guy in a green shirt as that blonde guy with the ripped shirt.. from about a metre away.. some gold facial expressions in slowmo lol P.S. I am never helping anyone ever again after getting stung by that smoke machine IF IT'S BROKE, FIX IT YOURSELF
  22. Was talking about this the other night with a mate who has a Stag, he was telling me about the manual conversion for stags and from the sounds of that it should be pretty easy to bolt the stag box into a gtr, as mentioned though, need to figure out how to control it.. or get it built and manualised and not worry about ignition cut on shifts
