  1. So, anyone else down for brekkie this coming friday?
  2. ^ needs cash for BMW repairs well, he will do sooner or later
  3. Your mate has the wrong end of the stick - permatex isnt non drying, its non hardening. This just means it will seal in areas of high vibration. The only thing you should avoid putting that stuff on is metal formed gaskets (such as head gaskets and exhaust manifolds) I have used permatex on water pumps and the like before with no issues whatsoever. Just use it sparingly, as you wouldnt want too much getting squeezed out into the plenum or water jacket.
  4. I just bought the 2012 focus and I gotta say, you had to be doing something wrong. The brakes need to be more grabby, if anything, and ours will be copping some slotted rotors and quality pads at the first brake service. We drove the kia, and was put off by the build quality, ended up going for the extra spend just on that. The kia we drove had the most amount of squeaks, rattles and knocks I have heard in a new car since test driving a lada niva back in the early 90's. The mitsu almost put me to sleep, and the corolla should have come with a free brown cardigan and a bowling hat. As for the holden cruze? A daewoo with a yank engine? Yeahnah. Oh, and the kia isnt even close to the top of the tree power wise. The cerato is rated at 115kW / 194nM while the focus petrol 2.0lt is 125kW / 202nM. Not an earth shattering difference, I know, but dont always believe everything the salespeople tell you
  5. The Stereosonic set, by local DJ The Jackness. Its a tad harder than his usual stuff, but I have found myself quite partial to his work over the last few years, and he is starting to make quite a name for himself. get into it http://www.filesonic.com/file/4335102304
  6. Big thanks to everyone that turned up this morning. Was a great turnout for the last feast of the year. We will leave the next one until the first Friday in February 2012, to allow paul to go on holidays. And for those of you thinking about just turning up - just do it! Until next year, fellow breakfasters - remember the arteries are evil and must be punished
  7. Aaallrighty then bitches, bitchettes and Paul Its that time of the month. Same bat time, same bat place. Who is gonna come and bask in my radiant glory. 7am Kings Hotel Cnr Pier and Hay st Perth $17.50 for all you can eat - but only if you get to the bacon before El presidente
  8. Wow. Thats a whole lot of info to digest (and quite a few acronyms to try and figure out) so thanks heaps to all for your advice, but I am going to try and break it down some 1) claybar the entire car (to remove contaminents in the paint I assume?) Now, do I need to worry about how old the paint is before I do this? The focus is made in germany, so can I assume its all hardened up and ready for this? 2) Apply sealant - is this just after clay barring? Or more often? And what sort of product should I use for this? 3) Ph neutral car wash - is Ph usually an issue with normal car washes? And what about the DIY car washes you see near servo's and the like? Should these be avoided at all times, or will they be OK in a pinch after clay barring, sealing and waxing? 4) wax, or caranuba (?) wax? WTF is that? How often does it need to be done? I am starting to think I might just get the initial clean, prep, seal and wax by someone who knows what they are about, then just do the maintaining waxes etc by myself? PM incoming Johnno
  9. First up, its not a skyline, so sorry about that. Now, I am currently going through the joyful experience of buying my first ever brand new car, and after knocking back all the offers of "paint protection" from the dealer, I am looking to get a proffesional detailer in to give it some serious waxing and stuff. Now, if you read the previous paragraph, you will have correctly assumed that I know next to f**k all about this kind of stuff and was hoping for some advice. If you could go back in time to when your car was brand new, what would you do/use to make the paint last as long as possible, and stay nice and shiny? Oh, and before anyone asks, its a new focus kgo

  13. does anyone know if Florence and the Machine is doing any Perth side shows? because I think I would rather dip my genitals in an open container of drain cleaner, than sit through a kanye west set. actually, I might do that anyway. For science, y'understand
  14. well, there IS that....... But yeah, every suburb has its own issues. Best tip I can give, is that if you find a place you like the look of, go back a few times, at different times of the day and night, and on different days of the week (such as pension day, about 7pm) You will soon see any warning signs.
  15. Fkn LOL @ telling someone considering Lockeridge, that armadale is dodgy I have been living on the armadale line, on and off, for over 20 years, and have never had a problem. Never been bailed up on the train stations, never even had a reason to call the cops for anything.
