Are Exstractor A Waste Of Money?
Stinky Rooster replied to 17yostagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Dude, NEVER underestimate the benefits of pulse scavenging. All the NA motors I have ever owned have copped a set of quality extractors as soon as I could afford it. The earler you get them on, the sooner they start paying for themselves, as you WILL see a definate improvement in fuel economy as well as a slight bump in power. Make sure you get a new cat fitted at the same time, and ask your exhaust place if they can flange the back end of your extractors and get the cat bolted straight to them, rather than have a piece of pipe between them (because it will help if you ever get caught out on an exhaust mod and have to do the gas test - the closer the cat is to the extractors, the quicker it heats up and provides positive test results) Its not always possible due to space constraints, but if it can be done it is really worth the little extra effort. I am a pretty big fan of tri-Y's, and have used them to great effect, although mainly on larger, oversquare 6 cylinder engines such as the ford 4 litre, so get some advice from people more informed than I, on that score. Genie have always been exceptional, if a brand suggestion is needed too. You can ALWAYS sell second hand extractors, so I dont think that any future "might +T it later" arguments should put you off. Oh, and try and get the extractors either ceramic coated or at least thermo wrapped - makes a huge difference to thir performance, as well as under bonnet temps -
Alans CV's in Osbourne Park. Awesome price and top blokes to deal with.

If I Had To Buy Another Wagon......
Stinky Rooster replied to infiltrator's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Neither, its actually a "shooting brake" (proper name for a 2 door wagon) And its not the first ferrari wagon either - Pinninfarinna made a wagon based on the 456 for the sultan of brunei -
We miss you too, sweetcheeks. Maybe we can get bubba to glue some carpet to his back and we can all pretend.... Probably best you dont order the scrambled eggs then.....

yer, its the 4th, not the 5th. This thread was smashed out at high speed in between narcolepsy inducing project meetings, so if anyone finds any further inaccuracies... Well, you can lick the cheese from the underside of my one eyed one horned blue veined custard chucker.

99% sure you can rule out a onversion - looks pretty factory to me. It actually looks like a nice car, and in response to your original question, a few things to look for Check the doors near the mirrors for rust. Also have a close look at the front strut towers, and the subframe mounting points under the arse end. Some of these areas can be pretty expensive to fix due to being very labour intensive. Make sure the uni's in both the driveshafts are nice and tight, and make sure you do full lock to lock tests on the test drive, like you would a FWD vehicle. Front shafts can cop a flogging if its been driven hard. Looks like a bloody nice car if its in good nick

OK Sports fans, here it is. Team LunchDate's first official meet thread. I am not interested in making a booking or collating numbers, so I dont really care if you notify your intention to attend or not, this thread is just here to make sure everyone is informed of when/where/what etc and the details dont get lost inside the whorethread, as usually is the case. First up, let me stipulate that EVERYONE is welcome, regulars, n00bs, lurkers etc etc. We are a pretty laid back bunch of people and this is just about catching up, meeting and greeting and possibly putting some faces to names. Friday 5th March 7am Cafe Wotsisname Cloisters Arcade Perth (pretty good range, and awesome prices. Fully cooked brekkie starts @ $10, and best of all, just down the hall from LowDown, possibly Perths greatest coffee) If you are coming from anywhere in the CBD, the RED Cat bus stops right outside the front doors. For those driving in for the auspicious occasion, closest parking will be Mis Majestys Car Park, on Hay St. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Who Wants Cars Steamcleaned This Weekend?
Stinky Rooster replied to Mr Eps's topic in Western Australia
ken oath I am in. Just lemme know when you can get to the black and blistered part of our fine city and I will get both cars here in the one spot. I may/may not also have a line of deckchairs prepared, to be filled with shirtless bogans swilling red export cans and offering suggestions from the sides lines. -
rear dogleg is smashed to f**k. You would be mad to try and fix that. IMO you should pray for a write off and if the cost of parts isbased on prices from Nissan (and it will being an import) then it will get written off

protip - there is only one fuel refinery in WA. All 98 octane fuels in WA are listed on their MSDS as having <%1 benzene and >50ppm sulphur (the main variables affecting octane) coincidence? I think not The main factor on how the fuel makes your car "feel" is how old the fuel is, and what condition the tank it came from is in. Generally, buying fuel from the servo's with the highest product turnover is the best way to ensure quality.

The brakes - what Dale said. (could also be something as silly as a loose wheel bearing too, but get it checked at a reputable place asap. The ticking noise/rough sounding engine - sounds like they have put 20W50 generic oi from there 500L tank out the back in it - get that shit changed out NOW. They say 75% of your engine wear occurs at start up? Well, your car will be doing approx 99.9% wear at start up if that is the case.

All these low life scum sucking pricks that scam people via dating sites should be hung from the ton gate by their genitals. Srsly, trying to fleece people who are obviously just looking for someoneto share their life with is right up there with being a pedophile IMO. I have a good friend who is going through a fairly rough time being single atm, and she is constantly having to take everything she see's and hears with a whole bag of salt, and a few times it has cost her genuine interest from other single people, purely because she has come very close to being burnt so many times she cant trust anyone any more. Even if it is a scam Brendan, just make sure it doesnt cause you to lose faith in yourself (as many people both smarter than you, and those not so, get taken by arseholes like this every day) or the rest of humanity. There IS someone out there fore you, its just that finding them may not be as easy as you would hope. -
dude, its not one way, and ergo probably way dangerous, but there is a fav road of mine in the back of Kelmscott, that I have ofetn thought would be completely mad fun to do this with a slider (I am too old, and ergo too cowardly to actually try this) http://maps.google.c...3,0.060425&z=14 the map doesnt show anywhere near how twisty this mofo really is. Also try checking out Crystal Brook Road from the Welshpool Rd East end.
