  1. Hasn't that thing been kicking around for, like, forever? I remember looking at it when I bought mine in November last year.
  2. I dunno anything about it, but I had to post it because its HAWT
  3. Check this out! Remember this thing the next time you winge about the fuel economy of your Stagea. This is a 1976 Cadillac Castilian. Its 19.5 feet long (9.2m), weighs 5500 pounds (2500kg!!!!!) and was powered by a carbie fed 500ci V8.
  4. How can you say that WON'T cause irregular wear? Your tyre spends 80% of it's life running on one corner.
  5. Holy Snapping Duckshit batman - those brakes are fu(kin HUUUUGE!
  6. 'nother porsche - this one was built by Rinspeed who named it the "Bedouin"
  7. Porsche 924 built by DM Motorsports in Germany *edit - this car isn't actually a wagon. Because it only has 2 side doors, in Europe it is known as a "shooting brake" and no, I don't know why either
  8. Porsche front brakes????? No Wai! Picsorban!!
  9. Ferrari 250GTO "Breadvan" In 1961 Count Giovanni Volpi wanted to race a 250 GTO but Enzo Ferrari refused to sell him one. Se he took a 250 GT SWB and modified it to GTO specifications. At the same time he had Piero Drogo clothe it with a body designed by Giotto Bizzarrini and based on the aerodynamic theories of Dr. Wunibald Kamm. The car was 6 inches lower than a 250 GTO. In spite of a higher top speed, it was only moderately successful. Best placements were a 2nd at the 1961 Tour de France and a 3rd at the Monthlerey 1000-Kilometers. However, with its nickname "Breadvan" (Camionette in France), it became world famous.
  10. Jaguar V12 hearse anyone? Make mine Brittish Racing green
  11. OK, due to the fact that the Stagea is such an unusual vehicle, I have decided to start a thread covering other wacky wagons. I have had a (rather unhealthy) obsession with wagons for a long time and I thought now would be a good place to share some of the oddball creations I have come up with. Feel free to post up links / pics of any others you have found – particularly the Mini Traveller Estate I keep hearing rumours about, but have never seen (no, I don’t mean Bonspeed’s concept) First up, the Mustang wagon! Or, how about a V12 Lamborghini?
  12. Umm, you do realise this is a STAGEA forum? Try the general mechanical section for intelligent answers
  13. I don't suppose you could follow this up with some numbers on your fuel economy? Anywhoo, thanks for sharing the lurve
  14. *puts hand up* So, did everyone feel bad getting their a$$ kicked by a 13 year old?
  15. rooly nice S1 with 260RS kit on the corner of Leach Hwy and Albany Hwy Cannington about 3.30pm this afternoon - very noice!
  16. Only one problem with that Mitchy - its already been done (well, in a single cab anyway)
  17. dice the fast glass and put manual winders in. That would be good for close to 10kg's per door - but it would mean sourcing the winder mechanisms from a much lower spec car.
  18. if you are worried about it, just put a big dob of wheel bearing grease or trefolex (cutting lubricant for thread cutting) around the neck of the dipstick tube and dont drill all the way through it. If the obstruction is only 6mm in diameter, you will only need to drill about 6MM min depth anyway and the grease/trefolex will catch all the crap that comes out.
  19. for the love of crumbcake, don't go and buy easy outs and try to use them if you have never done it before. If you snap one off you will never ever ever get it out. Ask your mechanic do do it , that way if he snaps one off then its his problem. It doesn't matter how long the obstruction is, easy outs are designed to work in a blind hole, so it should be OK, but they really aren't a tool for beginners.
  20. that explains the sig then.....
  21. find someone with a mig welder, seal whatever it is with the thickest grease you can find (I recommend high temp wheel bearing grease) to seal the dipstick tube and stop crap falling in to the sump, and then get your mate with the welder to tack a piece of rod to the obstruction. You could even ask him to weld a basic tee handle on top and then start yanking and pulling. Or, you could try and source a new dipstick and tube from a wrecker and get someone to use a oxy torch to veeeeery gently de-braize the dipstick tube from the sump (or block, cant remember which one it goes in to) and just replace it with a new one? It goes without saying that this would a lot easier acheived whith the engine out of the car, but doable if its already in. hope this helps
  22. My point was, according to the pics there is no woodgrain. Mine has the faux wood and I actually quite like it. Its a kind of walnut burr and you hit it with a bit of armour all and it comes up like glass. Have you got the whole console, centre facia and door trim bits?
  23. but why is it hitting R&R? Aren't you worried that the boost cut defender is just hiding a bigger problem? Or, maybe it is just crap fuel? Interesting......
  24. with a new fuel pump recently installed
  25. ...and its only ghey if ur balls touch.....
