so why is my stock S1 auto sitting at about 500RPM lower at -110kph? I thought the overdrive in the manual would bring it down to about the same.

The problems with the extended warranties are the things they don't include - which is pretty much anything that wears out. If it fails, you have to prove it isn't from age and that isn't always possible with a second hand import. I was offered one by my dealer at his price (about $495 from memory) but after reading the fine print I still didn't think it was worth it. I don't regret the desicion either.

Chi, AFAIK, the plan was for a meet up at 8.30 at the Murdoch park 'n ride (about page 5 of this thread I think), but I wan't planning on being there until about 9pm cause I gotta offload the kids at the sitters first. well, considering you have a S1 RS4 NOT an RS4 S that really doesn't have much bearing here Grant. Ian is talking about the S2 RS4 S that, apart from being a factory manual, has a lot of extra gear the RS4 doesn't have, and the LSD is only a part of a long list. Ian - is the factory lsd a 1 or 1.5? would be good to know if one ever popped up on the auctions.

Just pop down to your nearest boat builder/repairer and ask if they will work for beer. They should all have TIG welders and its a pretty small job

The chances are that the odo reading of all 3 of those cars have been severely messed with. Seriously, a 7-9 year old car that has travelled less than 40 000kms? 98+ will have a little more power (206kw vs 172kw), slightly better fuel economy and (should have) a triptronic auto so if that floats your boat then go for it. As for the money, look around at everything else on offer and that will be the best way to judge it, but if you are likely to want to mod it at all, you would be a lot better off buying one like Andy's (plus, the manual version is a lot more rare and expensive) Andy^^ Note free plug!
