  1. tbh i retune around 3 e85 cars a week from other shops (please understand i dont mean all just some) and tbh some tuners still dont understand E85, we generally get a gain every time. we dont do drag cars (i have 0 intrest in drag) but EVERYTIME the owner will better their PB at any given circuit track. 70-80% of our tuning is now e85 so we live and breath it daily, some cars dont get the benefits but many do, the cars that do are the ones limited on 98 by a fundamental element not turbo sizing and -7's fall smack bang in this category. S15 are another good example 220rwkw on the std turbo up from 195rwkw is a common result.... normally restricted by a so called too small a turbo.... 11% increase on such a small output is super impressive. Generally a GTR making 310-315 will always make 340-350 on e85 with no increase in boost if tuned correctly (providing there are no intake or exhaust bottlenecks). The basic rule of this extra power is the same rules that gain power on 98. i know we are getting legit results just by the numbers in the mapping, anyone who understands the fuel will know what im referring too. Ash im happy to show you in person where these other tunes are falling short. i have all the saved maps from the cars im referring too. Also if anyone is not getting the results they should im more than happy to view their ecu file and give feedback on why they havent got the results.
  2. what setup and ecu?
  3. Split fires or new OEM coilpacks, all the others are junk... ALL.
  4. Just about any stand alone, if you cant tune one of these they should not be tuning.
  5. what ecu?
  6. We see it week in week out... a customer gets told the cheap Chinese coils are no different to the OEM or splitfire range of coil packs well i can tell you they are. I see at least one set of the 3 generic brands on the Australian market fail each week and here is the latest.... these are new 70-100 kilometer old ATOMIC coilpacks breaking down at 17psi. .. dropped in set new std ones and a set of 40,000km old splitfire coil packs and bingo 80rwkw gain...
  7. Here is the latest -7 and e85 result. Std rb26 with camgears and r32 gtr airbox.. Saw no gains over 22psi..... but a decent gain from 312rwkw on pump 98.
  8. interesting my td05-18g bolted straight on.
  9. Tuned another 400plus RWKW adaptronic today. No issues with it even up to 26psi on std RB25 with only forged pistons. Anthony yes i agree they are easier to tune and quicker to tune but that is not necessary better in all cases, but would be for average joe. Put simply i say to customers if your after a plug and play ecu equivalent to PFC then go Adaptronic it offers far more features for less money or the same money as a second hand PFC, if your after something to do flex tuning etc then go haltech or LINK. Ive done a Flex fuel plus LPG Adaptronic setup (so pump 98, e85 and liguid injection all on the one ecu) and it works fine but definitely struggled due to the basic input output setups available within the software.
  10. cant remember tbh.
  11. the link and haltech are more versatile especially with input output controls and allocations. I love Link but TBH haltech has the match atm, the advantage of VE tuning over the LINK has me going that way more often now.... and the haltech flex sensor is small and cheap. I would go in this order for Flex. Haltech Link Adaptronic If budget was my main concern it would be Haltech Adapronic Link
  12. EXACTLY TIMES TEN.
  13. Hey i just tested one of these and it had a 6psi drop across it (20-30kw loss), have you tested boost before and after the cooler. Who is it from? the supplier was great and swapped it for another style.
  14. t67 will fit if creative.
  15. i have one of these.
  16. TBH its not even in the same league as a motec or autronic but its 1/3 of the price.
  17. Had a play with a nice GTR with a set of the GTX's (modified -5 front covers) last week we ran out of spark (see dip) @ 460rwkw on E85 @ around 23psi definitely good turbo s even with the hybrid front cover..
  18. Its no more advanced than any other ecu just cheaper, there are still plenty of things which need sorting function wise (logging, input output allocations, interface is still very basic and cumbersome especially temp compensations etc) but if you only have a sub 1200 budget for an ecu it gives you a whole lot of features for little money. i would rank them definitely in the top 5 ecus as a plug and play solution for RB's.
  19. Definitely awesome ecu's for the price and we tune on average one a week, they are big step up over the old stuff. We have generally stopped tuning the E420c ecu's as they are constant causes of grief (got to a point we were retuning alot of the dealer cars) though so stick to the plug and play versions. Happily made over 450rwkw with the basic plug in select ecu on numerous occasions, every now and again we get one that doesn't want to play ball idle wise but its maybe 1 in 20 and more often than not its a car issue not an ecu problem..
  20. i just found the maths interesting, we tune alot of fords and holdens and the math is paramount to good results... interesting to see ASNU / FIC making up bullshit data which would be a pain to tune with.
  21. i tune a plethora of both generic and genuine ID injectors (i just tune what's installed) so im on the sidelines but none the less its a very interesting read. http://www.injectordynamics.com/size14.html http://www.injectordynamics.com/BullshitEpidemic.html DOnt get me worng this is not a dig at the generic stuff (just bought a set myself) but dont be fooled by the data supplied by some of the secondary manufacturers.... ie.. ASNU and FIC
  22. sell emu and just remap std ecu.
  23. R33 and r34 are the same kit only the mounts are different but are both included in the kit. The new kits come with silicone reducers.
