Well, all these posts make about as much sense as this pic...

okay... Mechanical: The guage itself acts as the sensor... i.e. if you've got a Mechanical boost guage, the vacuum (boost) line will plug directly into the back of the guage, and this is used for the input for the readout... Electrical: The guage gets its data from a seperate sender. I.e. in the example of a boost guage again, there would be a seperate sender mounted in the engine bay somewhere, that the boost line plugs into... the Sender then converts the boost pressure into electronic data, and transmits it to the guage, which then displays it for you... So, in conclusion, if you're looking for things like Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Water Temperature etc, try and get Electronic, as nothing worse than driving along, and getting boiling hot oil squirted on your face if the line/guage fails or something. (Well, thats my interpretation of things, someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)

comon guys, this is a nice car -
mmmm, your car makes me want to lick it.... that paint is delicious.... bit of a suggestion though... get someone who is good with photo postprocessing/photoshop, to change everything except for the car itself into black and white (i.e. the wall/ground etc)..., and possibly lighten the top half of the car just a smidgeon (Just my observations anyway)

elite... i take it you = your mechanic? If so, i'm having dramas with my RB20... got time spare tomorrow to have a looksee? -
I actually have a NissanDataScan unit, that Impakt off these forums makes... it gives a readout of all the sensor readings etc.... and like i said in the first post... sensors seem fine...

Hi All, Well, more dramas with the car, after just waiting a month to get the bloody thing back from a simple 1/2 day turbo and intercooler swap! Well, seeing as my turbo died (due to the heat recently i think ) i upgraded to an R33 unit, and also an R34 GTT intercooler... Have barely driven the car since i got it back about a week ago, due to the hot weather. I took it out and put it on the dyno today to check the AFR's, to make sure i wasn't running out of fuel/detonating with the hot weather we're having at the moment, and came across a bit of a shock when we found out that the car isn't leaving closed loop mode! (AFR's are at 14.8:1 from light throttle, all the way through to full throttle... i.e. it doesn't change like normal as it comes onto boost) The workshop was busy, so they didn't have time to look at it/sus it out, but they suggested that there are only 3 things that control closed/open loop... these being: AFM <-- I checked this, voltage readouts seem to be normal TPS <-- Checked this as well, again, readouts seem to be normal O2 Sensor <-- Now, im thinking this may have been damaged when the exhaust wheel of the turbo went kaput and ended up in my cat... The readouts are around 0.5 - 0.8v at extremely light throttle (i.e. just above idle) and then at much throttle at all, they drop rapidly, to around 0.02 - 0.05v. Now, if anyone has any thoughts/ideas, they would be muchly appreciated... Have done an ECU Diagnostic - Got Code 55 (All Clear) Also did an O2 sensor test as outlined on the below site, and got no flashing LED's at all from the ECU.... http://www.overflow.250x.com/diagnostics.htm Someone, please help!

Hell, even if someone has an O2 sensor i could borrow/try out, or an R32 GTS-t ECU that i could try plugging in to see if its the actual ECU, that would be great! I Just want my car back on the road dammit!

um, guys, re-read what chaos wrote... it wasn't the cars that were racing.... it was the 2 guys on bikes.... they bumped into each other, sending 1 into 3 cars (including the skyline) well, thats what i gathered from his story anyway :|

Some Chrissy cheer, borrowed and edited from another forum A Visit from Saint NicholaS! Twas the Night before Christmas and all through the town. Not a Skyline was zipping or cruising around. The stockings were hung by the tool box with care. In hopes that St. NicholaS would leave something there. SAU members were tucked up tight in their beds, While visions of Skylines raced through their heads My car under cover and I in my cap, All I could think of was my hottest last lap When out on the driveway there arose such a clatter I sprung from my '32 to see whats the matter Away to the window I flew like a flash I ripped down the blinds as I tripped over the trash. The moon on the bonnet of my ripper R car, Threw a glow in the night both near and far When what to my wondering eyes should appear? But a shiny red 'Line and eight Japanese deer! With a little old driver that liked to go quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than a Supra his coursers they came, And he whistled and shouted and called out their name: "Now, R32! Now, R33! Now, Cefiro and Modded GTR! On, R34! On, Laurel! On Stagea and Godzilla! On down the driveway, stay away from the wall! Now zip away, speed away, zip away all!" As fast 'Lines burn rubber while a twisty track they fly, When they meet with a curb, and mount to the sky. So up my Court the Skyline flew, The Nissan full of car stuff and Saint NicholaS too! And in 0 to 60 I heard on my drive The clutching and shifting of a 5 speed overdrive. As I drew in my head and was turning around Into the garage St. NicholaS did bound! He was all dressed in Nomex from his head to his foot, His jump suit was tarnished with oil and soot. A bundle of race parts he took off his back. He looked like a parts dealer just opening his pack! His eyes - how they twinkled. His dimples how merry. His helmet said Bell, Bright red like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up in a grin With a bit of black gold smeared on his chin. The tip of an exhaust pipe he held in his teeth, And the smoke encircled his head like a big Christmas wreath. He had a broad face and a little beer belly That shook, when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. He was jolly and plump - a right jolly elf. And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself. A twist of his head, and a wink like a star, I knew he'd take care of my much thrashed GTR! He spoke not a word but went straight to work, Changing my turbo, he then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose And giving a nod - out the garage door he goes. He jumped in his Skyline, to his team he did whistle And raced down the street like a Tomahawk missile! But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight: "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

usually all it is is them pulling a vacuum hose off the inlet manifold and sucking auto transmission fluid (i think thats what they use?) in through the vacuum hose which then goes through the manifold/pistons etc and cleans them... i remember in my VK i used a 50/50 mix of kero and water, poured down the throat of the carby, but slightly different procedure there

Greddy Type S Bov + Skyline Adaptor
AzzurrA replied to lordsnipe's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
not particularly... no... as i mentioned to drift monkys, you can buy a brand new GReddy adapter for $35 from japan... so i was prepared to offer $35 inc. shipping for your 2nd hand one that possibly isn't even genuine... -
bit of a question on this one... assuming i'm using a stock ECU, is there any way to monitor knock? I've got one of the Nissan Datascan units that Impakt (off these forums) makes that gives a readout of all the ECU parameters... the only one that it doesn't give that could be helpful is the knock readout.... any ideas?

i have a "Flying Performance" (ebay jobbie) 3" Dump/Front Pipe, Highflow 3" cat, 3" Kakimoto catback (has a muffler and a resonator) and it made 83 decibels when it was tested by the EPA a couple of months back... Now, i think mine is TOO quiet (83 would be very very close to stock levels, if not quieter)

AzzurrA replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
these look like a nice little unit that would suit my application perfectly (want to run around 10 to 12psi, but with quicker spooling etc). I was going to go for the Jaycar IEBC, but if these do the job NEARLY as well, then there's no point! Emailed Mark about ordering one -
Mine from my old camera...

Where To Get Air Bags 4 Skyline
AzzurrA replied to naveed's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
lol, i think he's talking about airbag suspension (i.e. adjustable at the flick of a switch... sorta like hydros) in which case i pose the question to you: Why f**king bother? If you want to do that, buy something like a BMW or Lexus etc. Skylines are built for handling and speed, why would you f**k that up by fitting airbags to it? so you can "Look fulleeeee siiiiik uleh"? -
