  1. My headlights are stock - I just added an extra wire to accomodate H3's - this doesn't really come into play when fitting H1's. I'd highly recommend to grab this H1 kit from BATMBL at the price he has it to clear. Either that or order a H3 kit. I got the H1 because I couldn't go past the price and the modification is so minor - it's just melting/filing some of the bulb 'skirt' (which is plastic) to fit into the bumps/shapes in the H3C/H3 cefiro headlight holder. This isn't too hard but I had to do a bit of trial and error, which, admittedly damaged a part of it but that was because I was scared to shave/melt off too much of the skirt rather than doing too much. It works fine anyway and I know how to do it now If you bought the kit I'd be happy to help you mod it or modify it for you. It would take me about 10-15mins so you could just bring em round or something.
  2. The cefiro now has HID ! Just finished installing it. Bought up a H1 kit from BATMBL (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=70411) Kaixen Korean one - I couldn't afford German so I bought the next best thing. I don't have a digicam atm so can't take pics but I was using philips bluevision which were a lot better than cheapo bulbs in there and the HID is now better still. The main aim was to get better lighting - which I think I've achieved, they're not quite as bright as I imagined but I think that's got to do more with my power supply than the kit itself. Haven't adjusted where the projector points to so won't know till tommorrow night but right now I'm very happy.
  3. Nevermind guys I've found enough info out I can see H1's can be easily modified to fit. I'll be picking up a H1 HID kit tonight and fitting tonight or tommorrow. Should be good
  4. If I recall correctly - last time I looked at the bulb holder - it looked like there was a clip that would hold almost any bulb into place, then the connector would be plugged in. Anyone know if H1's will fit the holder? (not worried about the connection/plugs cos I can modify later). I'd be greatly appreciative if anyone could answer that as it would save me buying H1s just to see if they fit so I can order my HIDs. Thanks.
  5. Does that mean I shouldn't have bought the mothers green tin of polish? Bugger.
  6. Since it's up to a week away we should get confirmations/numbers. R33Deviat noone has seemed to say anything wrong with the location so I'm sweet with it if everyone else is.. i just hope my car makes it there. Can we get a show of hands please people? I'll start - I'm there!
  7. Just wondering what everyone thinks of their subs.. I think the one I'm looking at (second hand) is a dual coil 4 ohm 12" (judging by the model number and their website). Apperantly peak 500 wrms and nominal 300. With dual 4ohm coils does that mean it needs to be an amp capable of running 2ohm stable? How will the amp need to be hooked up? I have a unmarked amp that seems to be very efficient (been tested by a mate of mine) and I *think* it is 2x400... if I hook this up will it be ok? I've no idea what class it is or what impedence but it wasn't expensive. I'm a bit lost when it comes to ohms law and such so any help/opinions would be appreciated.
  8. Anyone would fair well if you kept changing it for each test.
  9. If you don't mind sharing how much did you pay and what brand are they? H3c ?? That's strangest thing I've ever heard. I might just get myself some H4's and keep the conversion then if I decide to go ahead with the HIDs.
  10. Heh they're the only thing that comes up on aussie ebay when you look for cefiro. ceffo you nerd O_o
  11. I'd like to stay away from KK and panthers area guys ... in general, but especially with a group of modified cars and after all this defect crack downs etc - can we meet anywhere else ?
  12. Great! Great! Great! I'm Forest area. So anyone this side of the sticks can meet at Chatswood, cruise up to the Berowra meet and join everyone up? Sounds great, just fantastic, awesome!! (yes I've had too many meetings at work this month!) Should cruise along mate we'll need a car with clean paint, nice rims and held together by nuts and bolts in a sea of busted up, rusted out, thrashed, loud, smelly, dirty zip tied drift scarred cefiros...
  13. They look freakin sweet!! I did mine and used the VHT stuff, I wish I hadn't they look ok from far.. but get up close and far from good : Good work I'll keep this paint in mind when I re-do them.
  14. Hey guys, Just toying with the idea of one day getting a HID kit (probably late this year early next year when I go to J-land). Stock headlight globes are H11's right? I've changed mine to accept H4's but would prefer to stay stock where possible. Anyone using HID? If not can someone please confirm H11's are the stock ceffy bulbs? (Just talking about low-beam here)
  15. lol H pattern isn't defectable (my engineer said, as no ADR or state regulation in NSW specifies it). Pods aren't defectable either so long as they pass the drive by noise test (ie the 90db applied to exhausts..) and aren't oiled. Mine is engineered without a box. My engineers cert also specifies a 4.5" muffler tip.. so ehm.. sounds like this guy is just defecting anything. Good luck getting em cleared tho, just get a mate to rubber stamp it.
  16. No offense but thats like "GAYBAR".. $400 a year on wank... not even good wank
  17. Thanks S-Kid that's exactly what I wanted to hear. The reversed polarity thing is getting to me. I'm going to try to flip the polarity over from what I think is right just on the off chance the wiring got switched somewhere along the way... I don't see how it's possible but at this stage murphy's law should be eliminated. I'll check the ground too.. I have 5 resistors left so when I exhaust those I'll head back to jaycar, buy another pack and a multimeter Thanks S-Kid.
  18. There is a date there, I can't remember what it is but if you checkout the ceffy section it'll be one of the first threads there. Hopefully I'll get to that too Just out of interest, Thornleigh is pretty far from me- I'd be coming from the Northern Beaches is there somewhere I can join up so that I'm not back-tracking? Are you guys goin up the newcastle freeway? (I've got no idea where wisemans ferry is heh)
  19. What's the end plate and the seal and gasket? Is this where the clutch slave sits out of? Or are you talking about opening the whole box? I'm a bit lost. Also what's the tail shaft seal? Is that the huge rubber round thing on the end that I would assume the tailshaft would fit into? That parts very gummy and looks fine, I think the oil on it has kept it supple... soft as a velvet child Just a general physical description of where they sit would help me understand which parts they are
  20. Hopefully my car will (6months + later) be finally back on the road. If so I'll be in. cefiro-nsw crew!
  21. Does oil flow in the part where the thrust bearing would be ? I thought it was just a free-space for the clutch plates to turn in or something no? Didn't realise it mattered that much. What about the outside? should I bother with that or just get rid of the grime on the inside?
  22. This may seem silly but are you actually driving the car? My car won't boost without load, so free revving it on the spot won't go over 0 psi.... this is my first turbo car and when it happened to me I freaked out too heh. Good luck, I hope this it
