Anyone here using precision power? What ohms?
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Sorry my question was had anyone used them. I bought it and it works ok but the quick response seems off but I think that's the box if anything (although it seems small and closed). -
Bummer Deviat. I hear ya loud n clear. Dropping in a RB20 with no complications all up for $1000 sounds like a good price just to get it on the road. But how often do we not get complications? If it's an all up quote they're prepared to give no matter the complications then sounds like a good quick n dirty solution. On the other hand that's $1000 you could have put towards as rb25 or sr20 so you don't wanna be kicking yourself down the line. I'm not sure as to the looms and sensor/wiring difference, too_much or BHDave should be able to comment on that re: the sr20 but I don't imagine it being too much (although you have to get some welding and stuff done with the gearbox when it goes in). But it's all extra cost you'll have to consider. If you drop the rb20 you don't have to change gearboxes. If you drop a rb25 I assume you can use the current gearbox also and have it running around as long as you play nice. So there are many considerations there man : Good stuff - anyone coming down from Northern Beaches/North Shore I can cruise to Penrith with?

Setting up a new Cef message board
someonestolecc replied to l6a6w6s6's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'm with that. I think having too many for such a small userbase is folly. Personally, between ns.com, nsilvia.com and sau I get my need of - forum kids, tech info and tech info/good people (respectively). I'll sign up to support the movement and all that but I like sticking with SAU - there's just no reason to move anywhere else. This is exactly how I see it also - except that you get the occasional 4 door skyline in here too. Don't get me wrong I like Adz posting about his crazy wheels or blown up flywheel but I think most 4 door skyline owners hang in the skyline section anyway. I think the solution to this is to get the cefiro domain owned by PranK pointed to the cefiro section directly. (and I've started to whore) -
They look cool in your engine bay. (not saying they do or don't work but they do look cool hehehe)

Super Fun Happy Sliders merchandise
someonestolecc replied to funkymonkey's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Brucey looks evily Shan. More Mr Sparkle prease! Yeah.. so 2x G-bo's please. 1 for me and 1 for my gf. :aroused: -
I won't argue about the bush mechanics - however I've never seen it blow anything up though and it happens to me everytime I re-plug my battery up so I didn't think it could blow anything up. I'd actually be interested to hear bout the theory of how it would (not doubting you, just wondering). Multimeter is the preferred method but not everyone has em. The alarm could be it but alarms usually tend to draw very, very little

OMG!!! Order for shirt and G please! I'll tell me gf it came with it for free *snap* Suggestion for the shirt - could you make the back design some crazed out crazy nihonjin instead of some gay americana 1950's esque stop-smoking-weed propaganda guy? I think it's a cliched idea Perhaps even like a banzai ninja guy with some crazy rising sun behind him or even like mr sparkle (simpsons) or something Looks awesome regardless so please see this as constructive, not destructive criticism PS. My sticker mate has been slack - I will crack the whip and hopefully get them done this week. -
Wohoo my car didn't blow up!
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
MY CAR IS BACK ON THE ROAD! Big up to BHDave who helped ... well.. he did most.. (95%) of the work so I should really say I helped him with the 5% (which was made up of handing him beers). Thanks Dave! :P :) gearbox - $100 clutch kit - $650 machined flywheel - $90 running car - priceless. *happy dance* Next issues to combat - things that really worry me - when going round corners enthusiastically (the lower end of enthusiastic) there is a thud or a creak from one of my steering components - when turning at lower speeds (ie more strain on the steering) there is a thud or a creak from one of my steering components this may be the same or related to the one above. - ecu tune need to get it tuned - unknown injectors which are spraypainted to the nismo injector colour things that make me angry - took off the front pipe (that's hangin off the xforce split dump and leads into the cat) and even though it's 3" pipe all the way through they pushed the pipe together and welded a freakin 2" flange to the freakin pipe!!!!! - the cannon still steps down to 2.5" (looking for new cheap muffler kakimoto or super dragger wanted!) outstanding issues - HID lights have the wrong focus point (gotta reinstall halogens and wait for H3 bulbs to come in..) - IEBC still melting a resistor on me (gotta check it out with a multimeter to hunt down failed component) - gotta get a grill for the front of my car - gotta clean up the wiring - metalic (brakes) rub every revolution from left rear or front wheel/rotor when going under 20kmh. Will replace/upgrade rotors with slotted ones next time I do brakes. - squeeky brakes (r32 brake anti-squeel shims wanted!) Can't wait for the long weekend! Thanks for everyones support during the last 6+ months and especially to: ceffo, CEF-11E, DumHed, too_much_boost, BHDave (super hero!) AND a big up to everyone else who has given me random bits of information, support, parts, encouragement - this is every single one of you guys who are reading this! :grouphug: (anyone I've forgotten it's not for lack of wanting it's for due to being young which results in bad memory heh heH) :headspin: -
Official NSW Skyline spotted thread
someonestolecc replied to CerealKiller's topic in New South Wales
They wear their names these days instead of the numbers I thought. You should send it to ACA -
I think if your car is locked they need to ask if it's open it's open. As for taking your wallet that's just plain rude - and silly on their behalf too because if someone starts accusing them of taking money they set themselves up for it.

There's seems to be a lot of tatted SAU'ers thats good to see. I don't have a digicam so can't post mine up but it's my family crest changed slightly to be 'mine' (in accordance with tradition) with some kanji chars around it that mean stuff to me. Round my arm like a band. Under the arm tickles a little. Next tat considering an eagle on my shoulder exactly like my brothers - it's a national coat of arms. Been thinking of Hayao's Miyazaki inspired dragon from Spirited Away also ... hmm just need to get it drawn for me

lol remove rear window.. re: the spacers - if you go to strathos get whatever price they try to charge you, laugh in their face then halve it and offer. You'd be suprised.

This topic has been done - do a search! I use BP ultimate only for the ceifro. If I absolutely have to I'll use optimax. In my daily and previous leaded car I only ever used optimax. Stay away from the fake high octante (I think it's vortex or something that's not 98ron?)

Cradle bush (pineapple) query
someonestolecc replied to Dale FZ1's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm no expert but I'll give it a shot from my limited understanding. More vibration and cradle assembly being tighter is spot on - sounds like you got it in one. There are 3 'settings' that I'm aware of. Drift, drag and normal. For drag, I would assume the harder than stock but still compliant polyurethane bushes would flex somewhat. My understanding is that it wouldn't be as bouncy as stockers so helping to combat axle tramp (I could be waaaay off here). For drift, the setting essentially as you probably guessed is the opposite, allowing for easier wheel spins because it's not very compliant at all. The normal setting (which is what I have on my car) is a balance of both, but make the rear end feel firmer, more predictable and generally makes it feel ... more trustworthy. These are my "by seat" feelings. You would always replace the set of 4 - the settings are dependant on where and how you place them rather than leaving some on as stock (I think this would result in undesirable rear end characteristics). There was a slip of paper with mine - I'm sure someone can post that picture up it will give you a good idea of how the placements differ. I believe if you put the setting on natural it would help you with circuit work with all other supporting suspension bits. I reckon it was $60 well spent for me. -
It might be just normal anyway and your battery getting tired. Easy well to tell is pull off the positive from your battery and connect it back up. If it sparks while you do then something is using it up.

window tinting laws
someonestolecc replied to =premo='s topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I've got crazy blacked out on the rear 3 windows and no tint on the front 2. I've been engineered and blue slipped and noone said a thing. Also I heard a thing about pre '89 (possibly) cars that apperantly the laws were different then and if your car made prior to that, you might have had the tints done back then so they can be darker. I'm not sure how true that is or what year it was but you might like to check this unless it's a NSW only thing (if at all true). -
When you get them and considering doing a mould would you please measure the sideskirts cos I might be interested

HID kits for ceffies
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ok. It's official BATMBL is a champ heh heh. He checked out the bulbs for me and saw that the H3 bulb focus points are about 1cm difference from the H1 kit (now that's service!). So this means for all us cefiro people we will need the H3 kit !!! I am working it out with him about the kit so I will have my HID working but not for the cruise this weekend. Will update this post when it's all 100%. Cheers -
Drip feed heavy sedetives to everyone in the popuplation for ultimate control.

HID kits for ceffies
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
For the moment I'm holding my recommendation - I took the car on the road today and the new lights seem not very bright at all. I think I'm having issues just because I'm using the H1 kit in the H3 lights - BATMBL suggested something about the placement which affects the focus of the bulbs. I'll take a look at tommorrow or the day after (most probably tommorrow night as I'm dying to see these work). I'm hoping that it will fix this so I'll let you know
