  1. The few semi-empirical tests I've read apexis flow and filter the best. HKS pods don't filter well. *So I've heard* I use a noname pod atm and will be switching to an apexi when I can.
  2. blah I don't believe this thread is still alive. My personal theory is - one is a falcon, one is a skyline. That's really the only thing you need to think about.
  3. Thanks for the photos - where'd you get the side mounty things? Ebay jobbie? I still don't see how it goes in the aircon place. I've got gauges there engineered JK I'll have to take it apart and have a look. Thanks for the idea. I've always imagined there would be tubes and stuff there but if it's just electrical and it's easy to do that'd be ideal.
  4. My car was rego'ed and complied in Victoria. I had to get an engineers but that's prolly cos it had an engine transplant done in Aus. If you get stuck and can't get your import papers and need an engineer PM me. I got mine done for less than 1/2 a lot of people have paid and he was a top bloke. North Shore area.
  5. all car mags suck in aus.... altho occasionally you get good stuff iin some
  6. Chiba boy sorry to hear you got damaged bonnet. They looked awesome on the photos hope the quality was good for those who got them. I realise this is probably the last thing on your mind but wondering if you're contemplating doing a31 cefiro? Long shot
  7. I'm sorry I don't get it. Is it like sector but pronounced zector? No offense but I don't think anyone would pay anywhere near $2500 atleast not on this forum.
  8. Has it got enough power to fire the ignition properly? Long shot but alternator might be dead - get the electricals checked. Also check ECU isn't in limp mode for some reason it could be mega rich n retard for some reason or another but if the ECU is limpin it then atleast you have a better idea where. Could be anything, leak in the cooler pipes? .. good luck tho.
  9. '86 Renault Fuego (great first car) '69 Ford XW 351 (LOVVVEEEE ITTT.. if i hit the lottery i'm gettin another one) 2002 barina (yeah yeah) '88 cefiro (engine transplant + mods. in terms of money spent and time off the road - worst.. car.. evarr..)
  10. I think it's a nice looking car for a girl. I want GTR styled slat grille damnit.. don't want to pay east bear $200 or whatever though :
  11. I don't think top mounts are straight out illegal JUST for being top mounts.
  12. That's sweet, keep the ideas comin. I'm particularly intrigued by replacing the air con buttons etc. What would be involved moving those lower? I would assume a fair bit of work isn't it? Functionally that would be great. If it was a non-street car yeah I'd have it in the passenger side crash pad (the depression thing) aimed at the driver.
  13. Hey man did my URL and dl it ok?
  14. OT KNKY but I love your avatar.. lol
  15. Minus wing minus front bar might look ok, if I was rich I'd buy it for my gf Needs new gearboots but engine looks clean. what info you got on it? Can't have been that heavily drifted without strut braces right? edit - oh yeah, and notice the cut off photo I bet it's passenger side air con vent is broken too
  16. Yo, Where do you guys put your gauges? I'm about to buy a few and need a place to put them. I'm thinkin- 1- try to fit em under the stereo (my preference, like in GTiRs) 2- on top of the crashpad (the place on the dash the passenger would look at) 3- above the glovebox drilled into the dashboard. 4- some other mount place like.. on the side of the console where the stereo is on the passenger side. Majority of the time my car will live on the street so putting them IN the glovebox for stealth install also came to mind but then again just how functional that is is a bit dubious.. I mean sif you're gonna just leave your glovebox open at the track. The middle vents would be ideal however I have my drink holders there so it's not an option (need drink holders!) Any thoughts/suggestions/votes? PS. Gauges will be 3 of the 52mm or 60mm variety. oil temp, oil press, water temp. Then I'm gonna rip out my water temp in my air con duct and replace it with some sort of exhaust temperature gauge maybe.
  17. I ordered mine from fhrx and postage isn't as expensive as you'd think. I used a combination of stinger roadkill and dynamat pro (or something like that). Pics of install available on request.. actually I think it still might be available online PM me for URL.
  18. Yeah the sr is a gun engine. And yeah silvias are cheap. Stripped out there's not a lot that can beat them like that to thrap, they have lots of ready parts and yeah it's all good. Hmm I've been considering selling my car, but I've just finished fixing it after this!!! Hmm still got your GTiR?
  19. Dono how to do it and never done it before. Oh yeah and as per my other thread I think even with the kit in the car won't move cos of the gearbox :
  20. Richard you should have a look around the cefiro circles at the moment there were a few really really nice ones going around for cheap and stripped out they're pretty much as light as silvia and look the goods also
  21. Yeah I had some fun mmmgtir. I picked up my (now) girlfriend in it one day, I was going for a cruise and I saw her at the bus stop and picked her up. It broke down on the way to getting wherever we were going and it was about that time I figured out she was a decent girl when talking to her on the side of the road.... she's been my gf since Also I pulled a burnout in it once. Other than that.. no... oh wait.. the engine fire was fun, uhm.. finding out I had no screws holding my engine in that was pretty funny.. heh no seriously I did laugh. And uhm.. yea what else I should have bought your GTiR.
  22. D'oh. Thanks for the info. The other gearbox was out a sr20de transplanted corolla and I got it for $100. As you can tell I don't have a high expectation of that box but we'll see how it goes
  23. I can't get it out if it's off. The car is quite literally stuck in 3rd. I've tried jiggling it, heaving it, pleading to it and bashing it. Sumo how would I get the weight off it? I've tried pulling it out on the hill it stopped, in my driveway, on the lawn, halfway down the street, on the street etc etc all different inclines. I've even 'bumped' the gearstick to shake the box on it's mounts left to right hoping it might get it unstuck. Dave I haven't bled the hydraulics. Sounds stupid but I don't know how, I might look in the s13 workshop manual tonight and see if I can give it a go without putting more fluid in (that stuff is damn expensive). I don't think this is it however as the box had been locked out of 3rd and 4th for about a week before this happened so I think something i s wrong with the box. Wow Dave so by the sounds of it I'm really lucky? Shit yeah!
  24. Gday champ, welcome to SAU. My flatmate bought his car from Envy and it's only busted a fuel pump. On the other hand I've know a guy who took his car there and it came back with half a tank full of petrol gone and firing on one less cylinder. I've also spoken to a guy on the lot when looking for a car and he told me he takes car for a drive and they go very very hard after he winds the boost. Exact words. I wouldn't bother with a warranty it's a load of crap in my experience, they cover all the things that will never break, I've had a car with one of these dealer warrenties and now I look back and think "ahh I was young I was stupid... no second time on that one". If you keep your eye out on the forums you see some very nice cars and if you're not in a hurry you can pickup a very good deal and a very nice car. But whatever you do get them inspected by someone who you trust and knows what they're doing - I can't stress this enough no matter how good a car looks. Good luck.
  25. OT but with your setup and the sounds of it you'll be the king of cefiro in Aus. pics please
