  1. On camera he could have arrested that guy for threatening his safety or some charge like that. The camera didn't save him, the cop probably gets it all the time and he decided he wasn't gonna bite. This time the copper was the bigger man.
  2. I wanna roll with Roy. "Sir please step out of the vehicle" "This bloke is Roy, he drinks beer" "oh.. carry on sir." "Thank you officer."
  3. Yeah I know but it's a bit harsh mate - 2GU obviously cops it from the police already it's not fair to bash him round here too. .... .. ... although I can't help to think of fat pizza.. "what's the problem officer, take it from me I'm a top driver"
  4. Welcome to SAU. :grouphug:
  5. Hmm wouldn't have a clue then, I have r32 brakes and not sure if the handbrake is still using a drum.. where would it be?
  6. Perhaps a wire is lose just behind the dash so when you push the odo thing it re-connects it. Open it up and see
  7. I think we can say with 99% certainty that guy was a tard, no matter what was said. But yes the cop coulda said "lets fight you lebo peice of shit" or something while writing out the ticket. But the guy is still a tard PS. I don't think he a crim.
  8. Real drug dealers drive barinas and corollas anyway. New ones, stock, with no sound systems, and little stickers on the back that read "I love my ABC" and "Jesus loves you" etc. These guys think they're THUGGED OUT YO.
  9. I don't think the point is performance so much as filtration as a support system
  10. We gotta go for a cruise sometime maybe, noticed your location is akihabara god I love that place. Yeah I'll pay that the traffic is horrible, but there ARE buses. If you're commuting from there it would suck that's true. If you're coming from Av or Bilgola that would suck in peak hour. I used to live in St Ives, so I think Northern Beaches had more buses BUT took longer because it was far away. I also work in the rocks.. hmm there ain't too many places in the rocks maybe you work next to me eh No probs for the info for the yanks/pohms. Just remember I'm biased so everyone will have a story for you. There are some groups of suburbs that have a certain feel, if/when you get here if you PM me I'll be happy to talk you through my impressions of them to compare to others because definately Sydney is so very extremely different. I've lived in some different areas from when I came to this country so for the 15years or so I've been here that's the biggest thing you learn bout Sydney. You can also try www.jobnet.com.au for IT jobs. Thing I've noticed about IT jobs is there are a lot in certain fields and less in others. If I was moving for a job I'd try to have one lined up, but I guess that depends how much of a good "chess piece" you are, if you're highly skilled and niche companies would be willing to do that, otherwise if you're a pleb forget it there are people with IT degrees doing helpdesk roles here. But yeah I think this year and next IT will be coming back up mostly in mid-big corporations as projects and IT budgets get re-aligned for growth, updating and further integrations etc.
  11. I've always wondered why do people bore rb20 and sr20? I can see with rb20 it might be worth it.. but with sr20 to get it to 2.2 litre costs ALOT. For the same money couldn't you just get a rb25 and achieve similar power? I've never seen a 2.2 SR so I don't know if the engine behaves different or what, but the day I start going crazy on my cefiro I'll be saving for someone to build me a rb25/30 hybrid
  12. All J cars that I've been in in Japan have them. Dono if it's regulation or something but yeah they have it for safety. I guess when they come to Aus they stop being for safety and start to be for fun Don't pop any near the sea I think that gets the coast guard/rescue people goin.
  13. Thanks VJ. All the other guys who posted about searching - how about a sticky thread with links to threads of interest in it? Like nark has done in the cefiro section?
  14. No offense why would you write in? Writing to ACA just shows them they got their ratings. They don't care if it upset you or you're for it, you watched their show you watched their ads. It's like replying to spam.
  15. Thanks pinoi. Thanks for the tip too - I'm not sure how it could have reversed itself so I'm a bit dubious that's the same reason mine is blowing up, and not being able to follow diagrams too well I'm a bit lost. But yea it worked before, I haven't flipped the diode so I don't see why it doesn't work. I might re-check it though with what you said in mind. The wires to your stereo and the correct ECU wires are the same in theory, they're only on when accessories are on. I'm not too sure on the auto wiring thing but it may be inherently safer that you wire it with the ECU because it's on a circuit designed for running the car, so logic holds that, if the power to the ECU fails, your car cuts out along with the boost controller. If it's wired up with where the stereo was it may be possible that your boost controller fails and the ECU doesn't, so the solenoid will close (with a normally closed solenoid) and you'll have infinate boost. Mine was plugged in on a different circuit but now that S-Kid mentioned the ECU plugs I will splice it there. To splice it without hacking up your ECU wires the easiest way (sorry if this is obvious and you know) just get a razor or sharp knife and nick the side of the wire a few inches away from the ECU. You should then have an exposed part of wire and it should still be plugged into the ECU. Then solder the wire you're using onto that. Tape it up, make sure it's insulated and trustable. I've grounded my solenoid in the engine bay but I see now also it'd be safer (and more "correct") to wire it to back to the ECU so I'll do that as soon as I get the bugger working ta.
  16. 2GU UP sounds like you're on the ball. You have to agree those guys on the report were ****wits though right? I mean, when cops deal with 10x of them, then see you with 2GU UP plates in a highly modified looking car then they will give you shit. Not saying it's right but you don't seem suprised. I'll pay that not everyone probably appreciates that. But it's not suprising since personally 9/10 I've spoken to lebs is when they're trying to roll me or pick a fight. It's a bit of a vicious cycle but yea ACA would try and find the most wannabe hardcores outthere (as they did) and put em on tv for the prime time crowd to watch (ratings). As for some coppers there's no being nice to them. When I owned my XW I was pulled over no joke every 2.3 weeks over a period of 8 months (yes I worked out the averages). Once by 8 officers in 6 cars (yes.. ALL of them stopped on the side of the road.. lol). Still I was never a smart ass and most coppers were ok but you're right with that sort of car you get away with ALOT more defectable stuff than an import. I used to get all sorts like "whys it so loud?" "its a v8 and its cold" "ahh ok" With straight-through side ported dual exhausts on a 351... "whys it low?" "stock" "ok" "you have wires coming from your tyres." "oh really? yeah such a heavy car boy they go through tyres quick" "ok fix them, come to the cop shop to see them and I won't give you a defect" "ok thanks!" So.. really.. you're just on the tick box lebo - tick import - tick modified - tick western suburbs - tick custom plates - tick dickhead copper - tick talkback when pressured - tick = harassed. I dono, if I were you and you're getting harassed, get a tape recorder, keep it in your car. Record the conversation and act all nice, get their name and call up the LAC and lodge a complaint to their public standard compliance officer or whatever (the title is something like that).
  17. Hmm wouldn't suprise me with my car. If you're ever taking a cef seat out in your travels and have a digicam handy please take me a photo so I know which part you mean
  18. Put better pads on it that will make it pretty sik. Or if you want it fully sik you can get a seperate pad for the handbrake from Uras which is it's own caliper just for the handbrake.
  19. If you're free revving mine does that too, I think it's normal with RB and SR engines sounds nice too. Off course, it is possible there's a leak in there if it wasn't sealed properly that will back fire more too.
  20. Which resistor was burning? If you're holding the board up with the inputs/outputs upward, is it the resister on the left hand side about halfway down the board? (can't remember the id for the resistor cos I don't have the diagram handy). If it is can you tell me what you did to fix it? I've put it all together and it worked fine, then I unplugged it after testing where it worked fine. When I mounted it and plugged it all back in properly in the glovebox I turned the car on and that resistor just burns.. I've replaced it 3 times and re-plugged stuff in and nothing changed on the board since then so I'm a bit lost. If I can't figure it out I'm going to have to buy another kit : Cheers, cc
  21. Copper shoulda done the thing in shaft.. guy taps his finger "ohhhh that's assault... " "i was in fear for my life" I've been on the receiving end of shit from sick habibs and asshole cops and I'd honostly like to kneecap both.. but I've also been on the receiving end of some funny habibs and nice cops so you get all sorts. Point of the matter is, stand up for yourself if you're being harassed. That's fine but these guys were asking for more, I thought the coppers did them a huge favour. They scream harassment when they're there taunting coppers.. I mean they've got shit for brains and somehow are the exception to darwinian evolution. The problem is the whole sick habib/bogan mentality of being tough in front of your mates.. for some reason it's fully sick to talk shit to authority figures because somehow you've been oppressed and put down by society ... or something.. i mean **** this ain't south central ghetto these guys are like from brighton and stuff. "We're lebos we ride together we die together" rofl yea go all jump off a bridge you 2pac wannabes. They have shit for brains lol - last time I was pulled over by a copper who was one of THE nicest coppers I've ever dealt with, I told him I was part of SAU and stuff and he was like ahh cool an enthusiast not a hoon... so there's still hope for us out there Now.. that all aside.. think of this for a scenario. Superintendant Fred Bloggs goes to his media officer "hey bazza, we need to get some more support on this whole crackdown thing we're doin cos we need more numbers on the ledger" Media officer bazza rings his contacts "hello .. ah yeah mr not-quite-journo, listen you remember those leads I gave you before? yeah well i need a favour. do some thing on these hoons we need to get pleb support" Mr not-quite-journo "ahh yeah mediocrity, sure we peddle that shit, lets link it into the gun shooting and stuff, people are scared of that it's a great way to get the majority-tard crowd mum n dad type people as they're eating their dinner." <$$$$$$$ goes to treasury/police, habibs get moved from the rocks to some other place> dad to mum "Ahh isn't it great we live in this country where police are doing a great job to keep these scum off the road" meanwhile, skyline owner "what's the problem officer? it's not even modified" "you the ****in problem bend over" Ok so it's an oversimplification but it's the world we live in.
  22. SR20 has more torque over the rev range, not talking about peak power. If you want turn in understeer use proper suspension settings, not weight. That's like saying "you wan't turn in understeer and cant afford a heavier engine? use a bag of cement." C'mon mate
