  1. yeah for sure. new guides fitted when head was finished.
  2. sounds good kev. is it byo car, or use school cars?
  3. top work. nice pics.
  4. that is wrong. the middle number as you call it is the aspect ratio. it's a percentage of the width. so on it's own it means nothing. your fronts have a sidewall of 105.75 and your rears have a sidewall of 110.25 so you almost certainly have different overall diameter tyres front to rear. as for how much difference is too much, personally I have no idea, but for me any difference is undesirable so I just stick with the same size front and rear.
  5. doitashimashite! as for drewII I still say if you really want to live in japan you if you are as good as you say then you would have no problem getting a job with an american or europpean company with an office in tokyo. again, japan is not a very attractive posting for most people in american or euro companies so if you get in the door here in aus or elsewhere, put in some good time over 6months or a year and you would be a great prostpect for a transfer to the tokyo office. like the others mentioned you have near zero chance with a japanese company, and if by a miracle one did hire you, prospects for advancement would be limited to say the least. *awaiting romaji correction.................
  6. sure mate. Now that the forum does auto-resize it shouldn't be a problem. I have a lot more photos still but haven't had time or motivation to upload but if I have a quiet one this weekend I may do some. it's good fun going through them, lots of good memories
  7. you would be in the high teens/very low 20s I reckon troy.
  8. ok so far no one has a real idea what is going on here. FYI if you searched in the import section you would find the answer but I'm feeling friednly so I'll do it again. your example (and these figures are approximate). car costs $60K in japan agents fee is $2000 Shipping is $1200 customs clearance including quarantine, etc $500 import duty 10% ($6000) GST 10% ($6600) LCT will apply (25%) to the portion over $57000 so I would be looking for a car under that and they include GST and duty in that (so the value of your car would be $73,800. So LCT would be $3636 You also need to budget about $400 for towing etc. compliance $2800 registration costs and stamp duty $3000' so approx $86K on road.
  9. yes, if you're car is written off you are liable for the whole price of your policy. They discharge their obligation by paying you out. your obligation is to pay the whole 12 month policy. if you were on pay by the month and had only paid 2 months they would just deduct the 10 months owing from your settlement.
  10. I reckon the top pace will be somewhere in the low teens. even the front runners in clubsprint class will be in the high teens. anything over a 20 wont put you in the top 5 in either class. (which sees me somewhere down the back!)
  11. they wont fit on a 33GTST without modification. 9inch + 20 on the front with 245s will be fouling on the guards for sure.
  12. some poor qual pics of my head that may be of help. and these were the earlier stages.
  13. Mark and Russ's R35 will be on the factory dunlops. The bridgestones are a dealer option (and come on the premium too) and by all accounts not as good on track as the dunlops.
  14. well that shut me up. I'll clarify my position, if they want to whale in our waters, and in our country it's illegal, then sure, it's our business. outside of that we should stay out of it.
  15. My advice is look to one of the big american or euorpean companies and banks that have offices in japan. Being a 23 year old CA is pretty good going so you must be fairly smart. Many of the big foreign companies need trained people in their japan offices and for most people who have no particular interest in Japan it's not a desirable post (remoteness from family in the US/EU, language barrier, strange culture etc) so you may find it quite easy to get posted to Tokyo with one of these firms. I know a few people who have done it. Forget about a Japanese company as you have no chance there. but in a foreign firm you will be working mostly with other foreigners and some english speaking Japanese people. Do some research on big banks, investment banks and accounting firms that operate in Japan, then apply directly to their base either in the US or EU or through their preferred recruiter. For your own benefit though I would seriously consider learning some japanese. as you wont be experiencing much "cars, culture and craziness" if you can only interact with Japanese people who can speak good english. Plus not being able to read signs/menus/anything will probably get a bit frustrating after a while.
  16. steve a small tip. if you want to post a simpsons quote and want it to be funny, don't spam like 20 at once. pick one or two then post that.
  17. "because quite clearly my eyes point forward, they don’t point rearward" lol. DC is a funny bastard.
  18. import duty and GST will be $10,000 or so on your 4.5M car. you will need evidence of where it was parked so if it's at the GFs parents then make sure your alien registration card has you living at that address too. make sure the registration is in your name too. Registration will be more like $1000 too in aus, and also you will need an engineer to sign off on the personal import plate, budget around $500 for that. shipping will be less that you budgeted and I wouldn't bother with shipping insurance personally. you haven't allowed for customs agent though, or any of the clearance costs. customs inspection, AQIS inspection, cleaning, re-inspection, tow from the wharf etc. all small costs on their own but add 8 of them together and that is another $1000.
  19. yes that is no problem. you can go from registered car to race registered/race only car. but you cannot import a car for race use then change your mind the other way.
  20. And with that, a mighty cheer went up from the heroes of Shelbyville. They had banished the awful lemon tree forever, because it was haunted. Now let's all celebrate with a cool glass of turnip juice.
  21. Uh...hey look! Someone's attractive cousin!
  22. are you serious? It's like half way down the first page! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Se...ms-t205366.html
  23. sadly no. it was badly abused years ago and shut down the whole forum briefly. so I don't think it will be coming back for users any time soon.
  24. Hey slow down! I wants to talk to you! Give us three hundred pretzels. Marge:You see? A little persistence and patience paid off! That'll be three hundred dollars. Hey I don't think so. I got me three hundred coupons. Marge: I should've said "Limit: one per customer." Should'a but didn't so hand 'em over. Hey! Kids! We're eatin' dinner tonight! Tiffany, Heather, Cody, Dylan, Dermott, Jordan, Taylor, Brittany, Wesley, Rumer, Scout, Cassidy, Zoe, Chloe, Max, Hunter, Kendall, Kaitlin, Noah, Sasha, Morgan, Kira, Ian, Lauren, Q-Bert and Phil
