  1. I have heard about Yaris coils, Scott @ Insight actually mentioned them at the same time as the R8 ones and they are a consideration but I'm leaning towards the R8 coils because NGK do a replacement and they have a shop at Homebush
  2. Yeah D585s, the dwell was set to 3.5ms and at that it advanced timing 15deg, which was tuned around but then they started moving the timing around randomlyI went the D585 because they are COP and much neater conversion then anything else, and now that shit went bad I am finding mine isn't an isolated case and actually becoming a common occurrence with these "smart" coils, info I couldn't find when I researched it before going the setup It is like they where somehow firing on the rising edge instead off falling edge when they should have been I am now looking at Audi R8 coils to get the spark I need to run 30psi
  3. Which ones, S tunes or R tunes I have S tunes out of my 34 for sale
  4. Syvecs S8Change the dwell time on the splitfires and the timing stays rock solid, it was something to do with the coils Coils may have been fake but bought as new genuine GM coils
  5. What was more interesting was the timing changed with dwell time, changing from 3.5ms to 4.5ms advanced timing 8deg
  6. For the love of your engine check the base timing, I did the swap from Splitfires to LS2 truck coils with 3.5ms dwell time and the timing of the coils moved advancing timing by 15deg which lifted the head and made 4 pistons catch the bores, have now gone back to splitfires
  7. Yeah that sucks, it's one of the reasons I build my own engines, it really is the logical choice while the engine is apart anyway aslong as the engine builder has a clue As for faster that depends on what your doing with the car, at the drags the 2.8-3.0 will handsdown be quicker for the same setup and on the track brakes suspension and seat time will only get you so far till you will need more power to go faster which brings you right back to strokers and turbo/s which could have been done while it was apart
  8. For what reason was it pulled apart 4 times ?
  9. I have recently changed how I bleed the 4WD to cause the way the manual says to do it doesn't get all the air out I got Award to rebuild a spare 32 diff I had which is now in the 34 and it is now almost like a locker lol
  10. I did the bolt into back of transfer case mod to my 32 cause the 4WD drive was near none existent, the difference is unbelievable, no more tail happy fun times
  11. EFR8374 ftw
  12. -5s work very hard to make 450kw, even with E85, GTX2863rs would be a better option cause lets face it 450kws can't be made from 15psi and with the correct setup with 25psi on 98 the GTXs should be inside their efficiency range and shouldn't be to far from the goal http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tbroom/Turbos.htm
  13. What about the basket filters in the actual injectors ?
  14. Me too, but I'm not paying someone to do the work and 500awkw in street trim with factory mount is the challenge, I still have all factory piping with slight mods here and there
  15. I suggested fitting GTX cores to your housing for factory appearance, the turbos would be "new" just have old housings machined to fit
  16. 2000s are cheaper, but not SS, they do do a 1700 or they abouts now that is SS
  17. Something we can agree on, Unigroup Engineering do a 260x10.85mm custom cams, I have just fitted a pair of these and they are a good peice of gearGTX2863Rs cores can be fitted to your Nismo turbos, are a good match for a 2.8 and will easy make north of 450rwkw with the right supporting mods providing they are the .60 front covers 800cc injector may cover you on 98 but not on E85 and with the SS injectors available I would and did go that way, ID1300s
  18. But where is the challenge in that
  19. I know what I said and I stand by it, 500rwkw That AWKWs Just waiting for O2 sensor plugs and better coils then going to push 30psi
  20. Lol, yeah would love to know the speeds that is getting to on a 3.2 lol EFRs from my understanding don't like being spun to fast
  21. Would be my pick, just map boost pressure of turbine speed cause believe it or not the 9180 is "small" for a 3.4ltr and you will have the flow/volume to over speed it Paul, fark Mick I'm keeping his phone so he stops saying unsensible shit
  22. A TS 1.45 EFR9180 would kick them in the balls, that kind of power from factory mounts is a massively hard ask and EVERYTHING would need to be perfect to get them to work efficiently, imho anything over 500rwkws and factory mount twins are to much work and frankly pissing in the wind Yes Paul I said it
  23. Exhaust side is to small, GTX2967Rs would be better
