  1. doesnt actually start off rb20..rb25... it has rb20 or rb25 engraved in the block just next to where the engine number is stamped...
  2. I have : 1. R32 RB20 standard inlet camshaft. Has done 100,000 kms. No marks, scores or scratches. In perfect nick. Looking for $130 ono. 2. Top feed fuel rail. (r32) Looking for $100 ono Let me know if any pics are required. :headspin:
  3. vl pulley uses 1 belt different to the rb25/20 i think. The rb20/25 had 3 ribbed belts, where the centre belt on the vl's is a v groove belt, so no u cant use one. try sourcing a second hand one and have it balanced....
  4. Going twin 2.5" cat back Looking forward to seeing (hearing ) it when its done
  5. yer...he did a damn good job, because he couldnt get it to idle at first, then add the larger afm, and the pump / injectors for the run in. I then went for the power tune, and the damn muffler is too small (from a reputable exhaust shop in the city) so i had to upgrade that too.... Just waiting to get it fitted, then im back into see Shaun. It does run perfeclty well however setup as it is (apart form a slightly high / hunting idle (aac me thinks))
  6. i was looking at doin this too chris....trouble is tracking a GTR air temp sensor first (or buy a new one) Interesting to note is my PFC is using a q45 afm (and is set as a std r32 one) and has 550cc injectors installed, but has no injector correction, or lag time set....Got me confused how it runs, but its not been properly tuned yet by Shaun...
  7. ok i found a mammoth thread on this, but i havent read it all of as yet, but it may help you solve your problem : http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...25&pagenumber=1 its already helped me understand how to go about checking a few things to get the idle under control.... ps..Joel -two days in and you're about ready to open a tuning shop
  8. http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/forums/sh...&threadid=35120 see RIPS attached pic (post #4)
  9. RIPS on the forum here makes up an adaptor plate, which reverses the stud pattern so you can do what you are asking about. Pm or email him for more info pics....i'll try to find a link for ya
  10. Is their a wire off the rb20 gearbox that goes to the ecu to get a speed reading? Ive changed to the rb25 box, and dont have all the plugs wired up.....
  11. didnt u connect the wire 53 Joel on mine, when doing the AVCR? I still dont have it reading the speed as of yet...never have since the rb20 PFC went in...
  12. You can get caught out Troy. I got mine with noisy bearings...luck of the draw if you buy one through a private sale, especially when its out of the car. Ideally would be to go for a spin in the car its being taken out of first , but id say that would be a rare case. I believe some wreckers offer a warranty if a gearbox is faulty when you buy one from them?...
  13. Looking for a RB26 air temp sensor. I believe its located on the front of the plenum on GTR's. Anyone got one and willing to sell me one, let me know how much Preferably off an R32 GTR, but if they are the same for other GTR's (R33, R43) let me know. Will be much appreciated. Bl4ck32.
  14. makes a bit of noise on hot days ive found....but only on real hot ones....other than that i can live with it
  15. So what are the options for cams for the rb25de head? Can u buy off the shelf items like 260 degree, 9.5mm lift cams for the head.....? Or would you have to convert to solid lifters (how much for the kit?) and use cams designed for another head altogether.....? non vvt of course in my case....
  16. Does it still flow the power steeing fluid to this cooler as SK mentioned above PHATR32, if doing it your way?
  17. I asked Shaun about the relay when he installed mine, but he said he doesnt use one, just hardwired it. It runs fine....as far as i can tell
  18. i was thinking of puttin in a surge take too, but the only times ive heard of needing them with the pump intank is if you let your fuel level go under a 1/4 tank when driving hard. If you do a track day, just take a jerry can to keep it topped up and you shouldnt get any surge issues.... Its one more thing to remove if you ever get defected though....
  19. Dont want to start an argument here man, BUT: 1. I did use the search button. I ALWAYS refer to it when trying to find an answer to any problem i have. 2. How about giving some more detailed information about which thread - in particular the one u are referring to I did find NUMEROUS threads about wastegate sizes, NOT on the way each function...ie how each is different to each other. I also noticed most times you seem to give advice, you tell people to do the search thing...(sorry to sound harsh) not the advice most people want to hear from a moderator. How about offering HELPUL advice..... sorry to offend, but i dont sit infront of my computer reading every thread as you do, and i DID spend 4 hours reading PAGES of info..... /rant Anyone else can help me?
  20. Are there any differences between the brands? Just looking more at how they operate etc....Is one type better than the others because of the way it operates?
  21. interested in dash...ie the dash not dashboard. Sent u pm...
  22. have you looked into aftermarket cams for the rb25de head? Its the next thing on my shopping list, and was wondering if there are any out there (say 260degrees with 9.5mm lift) for the 25de head?
  23. ezi outs are reverse threaded taps....basically u drill a small hole in the centre of the snapped stud. Then u screw this tap into the hole (which has a reverse thread on it) so as you do it up, it catches and undoes the thread from the stud. I snapped one of the exhaust studs on my new motor. had to do this to get it out. When i put the new studs in i noticed how easy it was to over tighten them. Basically people must do the stud up uber tight, then the manifold nut hard as they can. The heat from the exhaust will heat all this up, then snap the hot stud. So....just stick to the factory torque settings and dont over tighten the new std/nuts u wont have it happen again.... edit/ studs cost fa from Nissan....like $2 each from memory, and r31 ones are the same
  24. Howdy... Looking to buy a 45mm external gate soon for my setup. Is any particular brand better than others? What types are there...(ie pro gate, race gate???) me confused Which type is used for what? Anyone had any bad experiences? Is it worth buying a new one, or are second hand ones reliable enough? Id prefer to stick to the Jap brands...(HKS etc) because of too many times ive been let down by aussie made crap. (not that there isnt Jap crap too ) Turbo is a GT35/40r  Looking to run 20psi with a top sort of power output in the 330 to 340 rwkw range.... Thanks
  25. Chris, Shaun mounted my 044 in tank for me without any hassles. Its pretty darn quiet too (was installed when i took u for the quick spin that time) Only time its ever noisey is on hot (read 35+ degrees) days. Its not too hard to mount, but i didnt do it myself so i cant comment on that Maybe ring Boost Worx for an answer?
