  1. These are the engine mounts in a r32 the first 3 are the drivers side, the 2nd 2 pics are the passenger side.
  2. those r33 mounts are heaps different to the r32 mounts. Ill find the pics i have on my computer later and post em up (at gf's now)
  3. $80 each for two tensioner bearings $37.50 for a timing belt when u have the rb30det.....sorry had to throw that in
  4. id put my money on it. Thing is if the rb20 didnt blow, id now have an r32 with an rb20 that ive spent just as much on as i have the rb31det. I awlays intended on upgrades to my skyline...ask Joel I was picking his brains just before my 20det blew.... I love the 31det and would never go back. Simple as that. Makes power everywhere, and its soo easy to control. No "plant the foot and wait for it"...power is just there when u want it. As for the interference motor bit....id put all my money to bet that it will happen again with the rb31det if the belt lets go.
  5. yer...guy i bought car from had 100,000 service done. 106,000 idler bolt snapped off clean at the block. idler bearing had heat discolouration, and there was rubber dust inside lower belt cover. I went through it all when building my new motor as i didnt wanna have it happen again....but a properly tightened std bolt is the safest bet
  6. sounds like a camshaft oil seal. Timing cover off, coil packs out, rocker cover off (side which is leaking) cam gear off. Not sure after this...id say camshaft comes out and a new seal fitted to the end of it. The reassemble the lot and setup the timing. Make sure timing is done properly too.
  7. Go the genuine article from Nissan if you are replacing it (thermostat). The aftermarket one i took out of my rb20 looked like a pos compared to the factory item...
  8. its all in the offset.
  9. i emailed you numerous time Mark regarding my turbo. Can you reply to me. I dont want to dicuss it on here. thanks, Darren.
  10. looks great mate. should go very nice
  11. read back a couple of pgs...I forgets too or ring shaun
  12. I just like the idea of not having to worry about a worn belt letting go, or a tensioner bearing bolt snapping to blow my motor. I reckon around 80,000 is a good time...hell why not 50,000 kms when the two tensioners + belt comes to $220 for a major service..
  13. r33 gearbox (with custom gearbox x member to bolt it into a r32), tailshaft, and modified speedo sender came out of another r32. Also had the r33 yoke etc. So it was a bolt in upgrade from that point. It weighs heaps less too. I dont know how that would affect performance though ....or....lack of
  14. so who's goin? I should be there...weather providing....
  15. i installed a r33 gearbox and single piece tailshaft with the new setup, and have had no issues running it... I cant help with an accurate measurement, cos i didnt redrill the mounts myelf. Joel may be able to answer
  16. well done mate. Getting there....
  17. Depends on tune. A bad one can kill an engine not a hp figure. sit a rb20/25 manifold on the long motor...you will then see what needs 2 be removed....not much, just dont go nuts. i used the rb20 sump and my fins were just bent down to clear the crank. yes. Im using a rb20 highflow (been told it a t3 /t4 hybrid as well?...) spool time.....hmmm.....none. Boost is instant throttle response. My engine mounts ere just redrilled to drop the motor here it sits....12mm one side and 15mm the other i think...? Joels ic piping is std, and clears the bonnet. Mine uses the other route over the radiator etc. and i had to chop the bonnet structure to make it "sort of" fit antisway is std, but my strutbrace dont fit anymore
  18. Im sure one of the guys on vl calais / nissansilvia forums....pro100 i think sells them...hmm....ill look into it for ya Im up for a drink or meal too. Will call ya sometime before the weekend. What day/time are you leaving Adelaide Troy?
  19. got a small coolant leak, so i need to sort it. It sits about 87 odd degrees all the time, but due to the big fmic i got, and weather (read 38 degree day) it went up into the 90's....no major problems though
  20. ive noticed that too on mine phantom. The temp gauge does stay about 3/4 when the temp gets right up. People might want to replace the sensor when upgrading the motor, or use an aftermarket water temp gauge. sorry to hear its gone, but i bet you're looking forward to the new motor though I do know how u feel about driving other cars in the interim though....
  21. ditto
