I use redline diff oil in my Nismo GT-Pro 2 way

Troy, ive got the std plenum on at the moment and had a Nismo front strut brace on my car before the rb31 went in. (Nismo brace is the flat tubular type brace). It now hits on the tubing that connects the j x-over pipe to the throttle body. Only way i can see to make it fit is to make a custom front brace that goes over the engine either a little forward or backward of the throttle body. Not a difficult job (as you are handy with a welder ) Realtively cheap answer for you I can take pics, or show you when you're in Adelaide next, where it hits. Give us a pm. I should have my car tuned properly by then... Custom motor = some custom jobs

I get this too on my rb31det. Its currently got the std rb20, but its been highflowed. Gets major surge problems in 5th right at 0 pressure....ie where it starts making positive pressure. It only happens at part throttle going up a slight hill in 5th, but its not too bad....just gotta have a little throttle or WOT to get rid of it I always put it down to the turbo / exhaust being mismatched for the engine too....

how long are these available for? after this first batch of course....

id say 250 ish rwkw using std pistons any more id be looking at forged... Remember just cos their forged doesnt make pistons indestructible. Just means they can take a little bit more of abuse (bad batch of fuel, pinging) before they let go.... Rb30det's make power the same as other rb motors...it all depends on the support systems and how much $$$ you wish to spend. Important thing to always remember is speed costs money...how fast do you want to go? Id budget for 10k + to even get over the 300rwkw mark. BUT it can be done on the cheap...stick to 250rwkw and you can get away with a relatively reasonable budget. Use std bottom end (only get rings, hone and new bearings), buy head & slap it on, bingo budget motor

Steve ran the same setup you're looking at running and it worked well for him didnt it? 321 rwkw with the 3037s?? I think Joel and myself ended up with 8.2 "ish" compression and it aint that doughy off boost....besides the extra cc's of course

I use a cometic head gaket...its got like an inbuilt o-ring in the middle layer. My engine builder said its used in group A and diesel engines....

ive got an rb31det in my car, however when i first installed it and was running it in the turbo wasnt connected..ie running no boost. So i guess this is close to what you were aiming for. It made (i think) 133rwkw. It pulls like crazy with the torque (and the 4.3 diff helps ) I spent $3500 on the bottom end (rebuilt with forgies etc), and nearly $2k on getting the head (rb25de) fully rebuilt with a mild port job. Everything else was already in my r32.... edit/ it still felt way faster than the old rb20 did on 150ish rwkw - without the turbo

Ive got wiesco forgies in my rb31det motor in my r32. Runs perfectly fine, its goin for a small powerup soon, but final power output should see it over the 300rwkw region.... No probs with the pistons, its how they are setup, and how the motor is tuned that makes the difference

just waiting for my cat back to be modded, then tuned Bout 200ish..i hope...till the gt3540r comes...MUAHAH

mX7 has single syncros on first to third gear though i think i read somewhere unlike the rb25det box which has double on first to third.....or could someone shed some more light?

Those pics were taken a day or so before it got modded unfortunatly. The drivers side just required redirlling the holes in a higher spot, the passenger side mount was cut and re welded as far as i can remember....

problem solved now
